It was Saturday morning and Stephanie was petrified, she had been unable to have any breakfast as she was so nervous she thought she was going to throw up and she had been through Mikey's closet about ten times looking for the perfect outfit and was still yet to find it. She needed to make the right impression on them today after everything and she was so afraid that she wouldn't and they would hate her even more than they already would.

Hunter knew that Stephanie was going to completely freak out about going over to his parents because he had sensed it when he had spoken to her Wednesday night and every night since so he decided to go by her house early to try and calm her down. Arriving at her house just after ten he knocked on the door before he leant on the door frame and waited hoping she would be pleasantly surprised to see him.

Halfway through picking Mikey's outfit for the day Stephanie heard the doorbell and looking at her watch she wondered who the hell it was as she wasn't expecting anyone. Meanwhile Mikey had already left his spot on the floor where he had been sitting patiently waiting and was running for the stairs, "door Mommy, door."

Sighing heavily she followed him slowly out of the room. By the time she reached the top of the stairs he was already at the front door trying to open it, "Mikey! What have I told you about opening the front door? You aren't allowed to do it so just take a step back and I will be there now."

Sulking he stepped away from the door and waited as his Mom walked down the stairs at what felt like an agonizingly slow pace until she unlocked the door and pulled it open, as soon as he saw who was there he practically flew out of the front door and attached himself to Hunter, "yay."

Jumping at the sudden attack Hunter looked down and smiled seeing Mikey there, "well hello to you too little man. Have I interrupted because you're still in your pyjamas?"

Lifting his head to look at him Mikey then shook it, "nope. Mommy can'ts pick my cloves."

Lifting Mikey easily up into his arms so he could walk through the door he immediately gave his girlfriend a quick kiss, "and why can't you pick out his clothes?"

She knew he was going to talk sense but she was going to say it anyway, "because this has to be perfect, I don't want them to hate me more than they already will."

Sighing heavily he placed Mikey back on the floor before he pulled Stephanie into his arms, "they're not going to hate you, trust me. My sister already knows, my Mom already has an incline and my Dad is the most laid back person you're ever likely to meet as you already know."

"But . . ."

Immediately cutting her off he put a finger to her lips, "no but's, just relax and let him wear whatever he normally wears and they will think he is the cutest kid alive. I might suggest wearing tough trousers though as my niece and nephew will be there so you know there may be a bit of rough and tumble but they won't do him any harm."

Mikey's eyes widened as he heard talk of kids, "are vey nice?"

Turning his head Hunter was confused, "who?"

"Da kids you says."

Realising what he meant he nodded his head, "oh yeah, they're the greatest. My niece Neysa is about two years older than you are and my nephew Peter is about four years older than you but you'll love them, I promise."

Turning back to his Mom Mikey wanted to get dressed, "cans I get dressed now?"

Sighing softly she nodded her head, "sure. Why don't you go and pick out some clothes and we'll be up in a moment."

Running for the stairs Mikey nearly fell up them in his haste to pick out his outfit for the day but soon he was safely at the top of the stairs and on his way to his bedroom.

Once Mikey was out of earshot Stephanie turned to Hunter, "how come you're here so early?"

Not wanting to lie to her he was just honest, "I knew you were panicking about today so I wanted to come by early and try to get you to relax because I don't want you to worry, I want you to be yourself."

Pulling her robe a little tighter around herself she was just so petrified as so much hinged on today going well, "what if today goes badly? What if they hate me?"

Confused he wasn't sure what she was getting at, "uh . . . they won't but I would support you one billion percent and it doesn't matter what they say, I will love you and I will still want to be with you from now until the end of time."

Raising her eyebrow she was sceptical, "really?"

Stepping closer to her he slid his arms around her waist holding her close to him, "really, I'm not going to lie to you on this."

Taking a deep breath she was starting to believe him so stood up on her tip toes and kissed him softly, "thank you. I should go and check on Mikey to see what he has picked out."

Moving his arm from around her waist he took hold of one of her hands, "come on then, let's go."

Smiling softly she allowed him to lead her up the stairs.

A couple of hours later and they just pulled up outside of Hunter's parents house, "so we're here."

Mikey looked up at the house and frowned, "it's not as big as Gramma and Poppy's."

Turning in her seat to look at her son Stephanie shook her head, "you can't talk about the size of their house, they don't have as much money as your Grandma and Grandpa, not everyone has lots and lots of money so there are houses are of all sorts of sizes."

Staring up at the house he smiled slowly, "I likes it."

Chuckling as he looked at his son in the rear-view mirror Hunter smiled at him, "I do too. This is where I grow up and it holds lots of fond memories for me. Are you two ready to go and meet my family?"

Stephanie shrugged her shoulders, "about as ready as I will ever be anyway."

Leaning over he pressed a quick kiss to her lips before he pulled the keys from the engine and climbed out of the car before he helped Mikey out of the back seat and placed him on the floor whilst they waited for Stephanie to join them.

Taking a moment to compose herself in the car she then climbed out and shut the door behind her walking around it to be with her family.

As soon as she was stood beside him Mikey took hold of her hand and held it tightly as he held his two monkeys tightly with his other arm.

After locking the car Hunter led his family to the front door, he may have put on a brave front for Stephanie but he was also a little nervous about how this would go but if it came down to it his sister would be there to play peacemaker although he hoped that wouldn't be necessary. When they reached the front door Hunter rang the doorbell and stood next to Stephanie as Mikey stood in front of them clutching his monkeys tightly.
