My patient friends!

I have decided to update! I haven't updated in so long that I had to read over the story again...

Lucy's POV

We chatted into the night and ended up crashing at the Sohma estate. I awoke to find the sun was beginning to peek over the horizon and yawned. I would have to return to my apartment and get ready for the mission. We would be leaving at noon so I rolled out of my bed and landed on the floor with a soft thud. Groaning I slowly stood up and cleaned up my things before heading to breakfast. I could feel myself stumbling around in my sleepy state and my foot got caught on a floor board and I went crashing to the ground. I didn't feel any impact or pain though, only some really muscly arms around my body, lifting me back to my feet. I rubbed my eyes and let them focus on my saviour, "Oh Laxus!" He chuckled at my drowsy voice, "Blondie. It's better not to hobble around the hallways half dead." I nodded slowly and let him help me to the dining room.

"So Laxus... How come you never told me you were a chicken?" I giggled to myself, "Didn't want to hurt your manly pride?" I heard him scoff in return, "No that's not it. Blondie... I didn't tell you because I didn't really want to be found. But I thought that this would be a good time to reconnect with my family." I looked at him with my eyes wide, "Does Master know that you're a Sohma?" He seemed to be a bit conflicted as he answered, "Well he doesn't know... My mother was a Sohma like yours, but my father didn't know her last name. So when he saw me turn into a chicken when my mother held me... he kinda... he killed her. So no Jii-chan doesn't know that I'm a Sohma or a chicken." I nodded in understanding. Many Sohma's have had a tough childhood, but that's what makes us who we are today.

Hatori's POV

We were waiting in the dining room for Lucy and Laxus to join us, breakfast was about to be served and the two blonde's were yet to arrive. I was close to getting up to look for them when the doors slide open to reveal the two. I noticed that a tired looking Lucy was looking happy and content while being supported by the older boy. I discreetly turn my head to look at Yuki who was keeping a calm front. He didn't fool me though, I could see the slight glint in his eyes when they walked through the doors. Lucy sat down next to me and Laxus took the spot next to Akito, who was sitting on the other side of Lucy. I had to hide my smirk when Yuki was turned down the request to sit with Lucy when we entered the dining room before. They all agreed that Akito and I should be allowed to sit next to her. I couldn't let Yuki take my precious Lucy away, not so easily... After all, someone might be better for her...

I was silently taking in the behaviour of Yuki when breakfast was placed on the table and everyone began to quickly dig in. I calmly placed food on my plate and ate in a robotic manor as I thought about Lucy. My little Lucy is being pursued by boys... a lot of them... Yuki, obviously, has been harbouring feelings for her since they were young. I doubt he would go down easily, he would not let her slip through his fingers again. Then there was the dense fire mage back at Fairy Tail, Natsu was it? He seemed to be a close friend of Lucy... yet that boy Gray was creeping in... slowly taking his place. Natsu and Gray would end up challenging each other... who knows which one would win. Yuki would win in a battle of strength... their magic could not compare to Yuki's reflexes and martial arts skill. Then I can't forget the two who met us the other day. Rogue and Sting, the dragon duo. Sting is too perverted for me to even let near Lucy, Rogue seems more quiet and intelligent... I see myself in him. Lucy... don't go choosing an idiot...

Yuki's POV

I kept in my fuming jealousy when Luce-chan entered the room hanging off the arms of Laxus. She smiled at me as she sat down and I felt warmness bubble up inside of me as I smiled back, "Yuki!" She said. My cheeks reddened as I noticed she dropped the honorific, "Y-yes... Luce?" She gave a firm nod and looked pleased that I understood... Understood what...? She was still quite tired, it was hard to miss the sleepiness in her actions. I heard Ayame laugh flamboyantly beside me and clenched my fist, making sure I don't punch my brother, "Did you hear that Gure? Our dear Lucy-chama and Yukiii is becoming closer than ever!" "Ohoho! I did see it Aya! And Yuki is doing that thing again!" Ayama peered into my face, "Oh yes that magic trick! The one where his face turns endlessly red!" I sighed and tried to will my face into returning to its normal colour.

I tuned out the stupid dolts and focused on Luce. Beautiful Luce. We would be leaving for our mission today, the Sohma's plus Tohru, Team Natsu, The dragon duo and little Wendy will be going. Laxus said he'll stay behind in the guild, since no one else knew he was a Sohma. My attention turned to Hatori who seemed to be in very deep thought, bringing the food to his mouth mechanically. Akito spoke up soon after, "We should leave now if we want to make it back to Fairy Tail in time. We mustn't forget we have a mission to go on!" We all nodded in agreement and quickly finished eating. Once everyone was ready we were heading back to the guild to meet with everyone else.

Laxus' POV

I moved ahead of my family so I would arrive a good ten minutes before them, can't let everyone knowing I was a Sohma so quickly. My mind wandered back to the whispered conversation I had with Hatori...

~Flashback~

"What is Natsu, Gray, Rogue and Sting like?" Hatori's random question caught me off guard. I looked at him in confusion, "Well they're all strong mages. Natsu is a bit childish, and he often get's Gray into trouble along with him. Sting is arrogant, perverted... while his partner Rogue is more stoic and, you know he reminds me of you in a way." Hatori began to nod to himself. I chuckled quietly as I thought of how Lucy would often do that, "Why do you ask?" He turned to me and sighed, "Well... I don't want Lucy to pick an idiot." I chuckled again, although louder, "Anyone who tries to claim her would have to go through a few people would he not? A protective older brother, a protective leader and a protective cousin. You, Akito and I would give them a few friendly words before they go near her." Hatori had a scary smirk on his face as he nodded.

I began to chuckle to myself and sighed... Lucy's weirdness is rubbing off on me.
