The kids had been quiet for a good hour between watching TV and playing together until Peter said, "have you seen Uncle Hunter's room, it's got so many cool trophies in."

Mikey's eyes widened and he shook his head as he sat comfortably on the floor after playing, "what's twophies?"

"They're like awards you get when you win things."

Intrigued by what his Dad had won Mikey got up from the floor and walked back to the lounge and straight over to his Dad, "can I sees your room pwease?"

Nodding his head he smiled, "sure but why?"

"Peter says you got twophies."

Stephanie giggled, "they haven't moved them then?"

Patricia shook her head, "nope, we've kept his room exactly as it was from when he was younger, we did the same with Lynn's."

Standing up Stephanie reached her hand for Mikey, "come with me and I will show you your Daddy's room."

Quickly grabbing his Mom's hand he followed here as he led her out of the lounge and up the stairs to show him Hunter's room.

Once Stephanie was out of the room Patricia turned to her son, "so how are things going with Stephanie and Mikey?"

Shrugging his shoulders he kept a wary eye on the door, "things are going well, today was the first time he just called me 'Daddy'. Stephanie is a little nervous about things, I think she's worried that things are going to go terribly wrong between us and she'll be left to bring up Mikey alone again but I'm in it for the long haul."

"How long haul?"

Rolling his eyes at his sister's question he wanted to strangle her, "thinking of proposing long haul, I want to prove to her that I am serious about her and Mikey."

Paul frowned at his son, "are you sure that is a wise idea so soon into your relationship?"

"Well we've already been married once, we were together years so it's not really soon into the relationship. I wouldn't be suggesting we get married quickly, I want to prove how serious I am about her."

Shrugging his shoulders Hunter's Dad wasn't going to try and persuade him otherwise as he would be happy to have Stephanie as an official part of the family again, "it is entirely your decision."

As they reached the top of the stairs Mikey was practically bouncing up and down with excitement, "wants to see, wants to see."

Laughing at her son's excitement she walked the short distance to Hunter's old room and pushed the door open, "don't break anything."

Running inside excitedly he stood in the middle of the room and looked around in awe of it, "woooow."

Following him inside Stephanie went and took a seat on the bed and just watched him as he went around the room slowly, inch by inch, examining everything that he could see, "Daddy was clever."

"He sure was. He was competitive from an early age and did well at everything he turned his hand to."

Once he had finished walking around the room Mikey went and sat on the bed beside his Mom, "I likes Daddy's fam-lee, they's nice. Petey and Ney-ney are so cool."

Sliding her arm around his shoulder she pulled him closer and kissed the top of her head, "I'm glad you like them."

Lifting his head he looked up at her sadly, "wills I see dem 'gain?"

Unable to answer that for certain she shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know, I guess it will depend on if they are mad at Mommy for something she did or not."

"Dey can'ts be mad, you's good."

Smiling at him she appreciated his support, "well I'm glad somebody thinks I am."

"I doos. Can we go backs to Daddy now? I wants to ask him 'bout his twophies."

Nodding her head she stood up, "sure. You know where he is, just be careful on the stairs."

Running out of the door he carefully took the stairs one at a time before he ran into the lounge and climbed onto the couch next to his Dad, "you gots lotsa twophies."

Everybody's attention had turned to Mikey as he ran into the room and the conversation had immediately ceased so Hunter was able to direct his attention to him, "yes I do. They're from baseball and body-building when I was younger."

Clearly thinking for a second Mikey then said, "whats 'bout wesslin' twophies? You wons da belt yes?"

Chuckling he nodded his head, "I have won the belt yes. All of my wrestling memorabilia which will be like trophies are at my house."

"Cans we goes to you house?"

Looking up briefly at his girlfriend who had just entered the lounge again he shrugged his shoulders, "maybe one day, you'll have to ask your Mom."

Spinning around on the couch to face his Mom who had just sat down he said, "cans we goes to Daddy's house?"

Nodding her head she smiled, "of course. Maybe not today because it has been a big day but another day for certain."

Sliding off the couch he went to leave the room to go back to play with his cousins but stopped when Patricia said, "would you like to come back here one day too?"

Spinning around to face his Grandma he nodded his head, "I likes you but Mommy says we's only sees you 'gain if you's not mad at her."

Mikey then promptly ran out of the room to go back and play with his cousins and all eyes turned to Stephanie, "what?"

Not wanting to offend her Patricia thought about what she was going to say carefully, "why would you think we'd be mad at you?"

Shrugging her shoulders she looked at the floor, "I know you said that you didn't hate me for keeping Mikey a secret from you but I can't help that worry that once the dust settles and the shock subsides that you will be mad that you missed out on the first few years of his life."

Moving from her seat Patricia went and sat next to Stephanie and placed her hand over hers, "Stephanie we will never be mad at you or hate you. We had a feeling that Mikey was Hunter's from the very first day he told us about him and we are not upset that you didn't tell us because as a Mother you have to protect your child and when my son is being an asshole you can't risk your son by putting him in the middle of that. We are just grateful that the two of you have sorted your differences out and we can get to know him now. On the bright side for Mikey, we have three years of birthdays and Christmases to make up for so he is going to get spoiled rotten."

Shaking her head Stephanie wiped at a tear that fell down her cheek, "you don't need to, him just having his entire family to grow up around means more to me than anything you could buy him."

Seeing his girlfriend was upset Hunter went to pull her to him but his Mom beat him to it and wrapped his arms around her, "don't get upset, you'll make me cry and then it will just be a mess."

Wrapping her arms around the older woman she laughed, "sorry, I will try not to."

After a minute Patricia pulled away, "so I was thinking, when Hunter next has a Sunday off then you all can come over for lunch, we will have a big family lunch with Lynn and her husband and her kids and all of you. What do you think?"

Stephanie turned to look at her boyfriend who just shrugged so she made the decision, "I would love that and I know Mikey would to."

Smiling bright Patricia nodded, "well that is settled. Hunter you will have to tell me when you're free so I can arrange it all."

Rolling his eyes he pulled Stephanie back against him, "yeah yeah, I'll do that." Receiving a sharp elbow in the ribs from his girlfriend he winced, "ouch, thanks Steph."

Turning her head she smiled sweetly at him, "yeah well maybe you should be nicer to your family and you wouldn't get elbowed."

Lynn smirked, "and here you were thinking we'd be mad at you Steph. When you wind Hunter up too you'll always be welcome here."

Rolling his eyes Hunter kept his arms possessively around his girlfriend, "you're not taking her to the dark side."

"Don't worry bro, she's already there."

Stephanie just laughed and rested her head on Hunter's shoulder and relaxed, everything was going smoothly and judging by the happy screams of the kids everyone was having fun.
