Leaving Vince's Hunter took Mikey to an arcade across town that he knew had little games that would be fun for him to play and he was right, the two of them had a really good time for a couple of hours in the arcade before Mikey started complaining about being hungry so they went to get some lunch.

Sat in a fast food restaurant Hunter was watching as Mikey just finished off his children's meal as he finished his water having finished his grilled chicken sandwich before, he couldn't believe that he actually had a son and a girlfriend and his life was so perfect these days.

Wiping his hands on the napkin his Dad pushed his way Mikey hoped they were going to do something fun, "what we do now Daddy?"

Leaning his arms on the table Hunter thought about involving Mikey in picking out the ring, "it depends. Would you like to help pick out the ring I will give your Mom when I propose to her?"

Eagerly nodding his head Mikey liked the idea of the responsibility, "yes p'ease Daddy."

"You'll have to keep it top secret though, you can't breathe a word of it to your Mom otherwise it will ruin the surprise and we don't want to do that now do we?"

Shaking his head he didn't at all, "nope, we like su'p'ises."

Standing up Hunter put the trash in the bin before he turned back to get Mikey to follow only to find him stood right behind him, "crikey."

Smiling brightly he looked up at his Dad innocently, "we goes pick now?"

Nodding his head Hunter put his hand on his son's shoulder and steered him out of the restaurant.

Ten minutes later and they were walking into a jewellery store. Spinning around on the spot Mikey looked on in awe, "wows, there's lots of sparkles."

Chuckling Hunter nodded his head at his reaction, "there sure is, we have a lot of choices to pick from."

Mikey's eyes widened and he looked panicked, "we's be here all week."

Shaking his head Hunter was quick to correct him, "nah, it would be at least a month if we weren't to ask for help which is what we are going to do right now."

Taking Mikey's hand he led him over to the counter, "we are looking for an engagement ring aren't we Mikey?"

Mikey nodded his head, "yups. It's for my Mommy, it gots to be speshul because my Mommy is speshul."

The young woman's heart melted as she listened to the young boy talk, "oh my gosh, he is so adorable." Turning her attention to Mikey she said, "would you like a chair so you can help pick out a ring for your Mommy?"

Nodding his head Mikey looked up at his Dad, "can I p'ease Dad?"

Smiling at his son he turned his attention to the sales assistant, "that would be great if you have one please."

Smiling politely she disappeared briefly into the back before she came back with a chair and handed it to Hunter, "there you go."

Taking the chair Hunter placed it on the floor before he helped Mikey climb up onto it, "you ready Mikey?"

Mikey nodded his head, "yups."

The sales assistant turned her attention to Hunter, "so what sort of price bracket do you have?"

"There is no price bracket, I'm lucky that I can afford pretty much anything so it is all about what we find that fits for my girlfriend."

Not having any particular price bracket to work with the sales assistant brought out one of the cheapest rings they sold, one mid-range and one of the more expensive rings they sold, "these are the range of rings we have, if you can narrow it down to what you prefer I can help you pick easier."

Pointing to the cheapest Mikey shook his head, "me no like dat one." Pointing to the biggest one he frowned, "dat's too big."

The sales assistant smiled as Hunter looked at her sheepishly, "I'm sorry about that."

Shaking her head she wasn't mad, "I like the honesty, it is refreshing." Turning to Mikey she smiled softly at him, "so what do you think if we go with some rings between the middle one and the one you think is too big?"

Nodding his head he smiled brightly, "me likey. Mommy will like dat."

Stepping closer to his son Hunter kissed the side of his head, "remember your manners okay? We don't want to offend anyone?"

Biting his lip Mikey pouted, "you's mad?"

Shaking his head he ruffled the little boy's hair, "of course not."

Smiling he was happy about that, "yay."

Turning their attention back tot he sales assistant they went back to the task of picking a ring for Stephanie.

Half an hour later and they had decided on a ring that they both thought would be perfect for her and that she would love and Hunter paid for it before the sales assistant put it in a bag and handed it to Hunter, "good luck with your proposal, I hope she says yes."

"You and me both."

Carefully lifting Mikey down from the chair he passed it back to the sales assistant before he took Mikey's hand and they headed out of the jewellery store, "I have one more surprise for you but only if you promise you won't breathe a word to your Mom about the ring I just bought."

Nodding his head Mikey wouldn't because he liked surprises, "I won't, pwomise. What's my su'p'ise?"

Laughing he walked him back to the car before he helped him inside and put his seatbelt on for him, "if I were to tell you then it wouldn't be a surprise would it? You'll just have to be patient and see where we go."

Crossing his arms Mikey pouted as Hunter climbed into the car before he started it and pulled off.

Soon after they had left the jewellers Hunter pulled up outside a toy store, "so I was thinking we could go in here as there is something I want to show you as I thought you might like it as you like racing cars fast. If you're still mad at me not telling you what the surprise was I can always just take you straight back home to your Mom."

Mikey eagerly shook his had, "I not mad. Cans we see da race cars p'ease?"

Smirking he knew he would say that, "of course we can."

Practically running into the store Mikey was so excited as he loved toy stores as there were so many thing he always wanted but his Mom always told him no.

Fully aware that Stephanie was probably going to kill him anyway for what he was planning to buy if Mikey liked it every time Mikey asked if he could have something else Hunter shook his head, he did value his life a little. Steering the little boy to the correct aisle he showed him the model of the electric track with a couple of cars on that were powered by remote controls, "so I was thinking this might be more fun than trying to make the cars go fast whilst you pushed them."

Looking at the track he walked around it studying it, "woooow. Cans we trys it?"

Nodding his head Hunter picked up the two controllers, "we sure can. I'll race you on three okay?"

Running back to his Dad Mikey grabbed the controller and held it tightly in his hand as Hunter counted but before he reached three Mikey pressed the button on it and started racing his car around the track.

Rolling his eyes when he saw Mikey's car race off he quickly pressed the button on his controller trying to catch him but failing as Mikey jumped up and down with excitement having won, "so do you like this Mikey?"

Nodding his head he loved it, "cans we has anuver go?"

Placing his controller down Hunter turned to face him, "sure, or we could buy a set to take home with us and we can have as many races as you want."

"Dat option, I likes dat option."

Taking Mikey's controller for him they went to pick up a set before he paid for it and they headed home before Stephanie wondered where they were.
