Chapter 66: Omnidroid City Battle
Xion, Dash, Violet, Dragon, Oswald and Kyra kept running from the heartless until they reached a large clearing in the jungle. They were just about to keep running when the heartless, known as the Blaster Volcano spit out lava from the top of its head to the path leading to the exit, trapping the group.
"Oh great!" Violet said with a slight hint of nervousness in her voice. "Now what do we do?"
Xion glared up at the Blaster Volcano as she summoned Lost Memory to her hand. "We're going to have to fight!"
"Alright!" Dash exclaimed enthusiastically, "Let's do this you guys!"
"I am so sick of these heartless," Kyra said as she prepped her bow and arrow. With that, the six of them charged into battle. Dragon jumped in first, swinging Steel Slayer toward the heartless. He struck the rock layer, only to get violently knocked back into a nearby tree. Oswald didn't hesitate in healing him so they could jump back into battle. The Blaster Volcano shot another blast of fire in Kyra's direction, but it was blocked by Violet's force field. Kyra then counterattacked by firing multiple arrows at the heartless.
The heartless clearly had high defense and wouldn't go down easily. But Dash and Violet had an idea on how to break its defenses. Violet jumped into the air above Dash, creating a ball with her force field. Dash then ran straight toward the Blaster Volcano, breaking through it's rock shield, leaving only an orange jelly-looking figure with lava atop its head. This left just the opening Xion needed to finish it off with a powerful strike from Lost Memory and a strong blizzaga spell.
With that, the Blaster Volcano fell to the ground as it's captive heart flew off into the sky. And at that moment, Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and their missing teammates burst into the clearing. At the sight of their children, Mr and Mrs Incredible couldn't help but smile. Dash and Violet spun around and rushed over to their parents.
"Oh kids!" Mrs. Incredible exclaimed, "I'm so glad you're alright."
Mr. Incredible couldn't help but wrap his arms around his family. "I thought I'd never see you again."
"We were so worried about you!" Violet smiled as she hugged her family back.
"I'm so glad you're here!" Dash said, not caring that he was hugging his sister.
While the Incredibles reunited, Roxas, Naminé, Rusty, Myde and Lydia rushed over to Xion, Dragon, Kyra and Oswald. Rusty didn't waste a moment in jumping into Kyra's arms.
"Rusty!" Kyra smiled as she hugged the fox close and he licked her cheek happily. "I'm so glad you're okay, boy!" She exclaimed. Rusty barked in content.
Xion moved over to Roxas and Naminé and pulled them both into a group hug. Dragon and Myde high fived each other and Oswald and Lydia hugged.
"I'm glad you guys are okay," said Oswald as he separated from Lydia. "What happened?"
"We got caught by some guy who's working with Maleficent and Xehanort." Explained Myde.
Naminé shook her head. "Which Myde neglected to tell us until much later." She laughed.
"Hey! I already told you guys I was sorry!" Exclaimed Myde.
"The important thing is that we're back together now," said Roxas.
Just at that moment, the team of word travellers and the Incredibles became instantly surrounded by Large Bodies, Neoshadows, Cannonbots and Flamethrower heartless. Without wasting a second, Roxas and the others summoned and raised their weapons, ready to fight.
Lydia released an annoyed groan as she readied her tambourine. "Seriously, do you heartless ever quit."
"Looks like we'll be fighting together again," said Xion, holding her keyblade in front of her.
"Right," said Dragon, "Feels good to be a team again."
"We'll help too," stated Mr. Incredible as he raised his fists.
With that, the supers and world travellers rushed into battle. Roxas. Xion, and Naminé ran by Mr. Incredible's side and started attacking the Large Bodies. Roxas, Xion and Naminé used their keyblades to knock the heartless toward Mr. Incredible who finished them off with powerful blows from his fists. Mrs. Incredible attacked a cluster of Neoshadows with her extendable arms. Dragon fought alongside her and sliced a few heartless of his own. Myde used his Sitar to send blasts of water at a few of the Flamethrowers.
Dash and Violet teamed up inside Violet's force field and ran over a few Cannonbots while Oswald helped push them in the right direction of the heartless with his Keyblade. Lydia used her tambourine to stop a group of Large Bodies before attacking them while they were vulnerable.
Before they knew it, Kyra and Rusty became surrounded by Neoshadows and Flamethrowers. The two of them nodded to each other, knowing what they had to do.
"Let's do this, Rusty!" Kyra exclaimed as Rusty barked in agreement. The small fox closed his eyes and focused on Kyra with all his strength. His acorn collar began to glow as a tornado appeared beneath Kyra's feet and raised her into the air. With the help of the tornado, Kyra flew around the battlefield, firing multiple arrows at the heartless.
After a while, Rusty focused even more of his strength and magic onto Kyra. The tornado disappeared, but now Kyra's bow and arrow were glowing. The light faded, revealing that her her previous weapon had transformed into two golden blades with the same sun symbol that was on her necklace.
"You don't stand a chance!" Kyra smirked as Rusty growled at the heartless before them. She and Rusty both began to glow fiery red as they both simultaneously slashed into the enemy, Kyra using her blades and Rusty using his claws. With that, the glow disappeared from their bodies as Kyra leaned down and high-fived Rusty. (1)
With that, all the heartless had been defeated thanks to their combined efforts. However, their victory was short-lived when they were all frozen in place by none other than Syndrome's zero-point energy.
"Woah! Woah! Woah! Time out!" Syndrome laughed evilly as he glared at Roxas and his team. "Well, well I wasn't expecting you guys to break out that easily. Guess I should have taken Maleficent's advice more seriously." He turned to the captive Mr. Incredible and his family. "Wait, Elastigirl? You married Elastigirl?! And had kids?! It's a whole family of supers! Looks like I've hit the jackpot! Ohh, this is just too good!"

Before they knew it, Roxas, Naminé, Xion, Oswald, Myde, Lydia, Dragon, Kyra and Rusty were trapped in the same prison as before, only Syndrome had made sure to remove the lock and replaced it with a card reader.
"Well, we gotta give the guy credit for learning from his mistakes," Myde said as an attempt to lighten the mood but it did nothing; his teammates looked just as hopeless as ever.
Oswald rolled his eyes. "Yeah, thanks Myde, but that doesn't really help us right now."
Myde released a sigh. "Just trying to lighten things up."
"This is really bad," Naminé said nervously, "What do we do now?"
"Well, how about we just let you out?" A familiar voice spoke up. The team of world-travellers spun around to find Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Dash and Violet standing outside their prison. Mrs. Incredible held a stolen keycard from a guard in her hand.
Roxas's eyes widened in surprise. "What?!" He exclaimed, "How did you guys escape?"
"Syndrome forgot to defend our prison against my force fields," explained Violet.
Mrs. Incredible nodded as she held up the key card. "And the guards here don't keep track of their stuff very well." She smiled. "Come on, let's get you guys out if here." With that, Mrs. Incredible swiped the keycard, causing the electric screen holding them captive to vanish.
With no time to waste, Kyra rushed out of the cell and raised her bow and arrow. "Alright, where's that Syndrome guy! I want to give him a piece of my mind!" She exclaimed as the others emerged from their cell.
"He's already left for the mainland," said Mr. Incredible as he moved to explain. "He sent a giant deadly robot into the city. After he locked us up, he told us about his plan to have the Omnidroid wreak havoc on the city and defeat it himself, leaving him as the only super."
"But that's crazy!" exclaimed Oswald, "He's clearly a villain, not a superhero!"
"And if he does that kind of stunt, won't he end up hurting innocent people?" asked Dragon.
Mr. Incredible nodded. "Exactly. Which is why we need to get there and stop him!"
"Honey, that might be easier said than done; we don't have any way to get there," said Mrs. Incredible, "Syndrome destroyed the jet we used to get here with missiles, there aren't any jets in the aircraft hangar when I was in there looking for you and it looks like Syndrome used his only rocket to send the Omnidroid to the city."
"What about the Gummi Ship?" Roxas asked as he turned to his teammates. "It wasn't too badly damaged in that crash, we should be able to fix it in time, right?"
"We should. With all this technology here, we're bound to find the parts we need. Me and Rusty should be able to fix it with all we know about Gummi Ships," Kyra thought out loud as Rusty barked in agreement.
"Okay!" Dash exclaimed enthusiastically, "Just tell us what we need to get and it's yours!"
Violet spoke up, "We better hurry, though."
"Okay," said Lydia, "Let's split up, scavenge some parts, and meet back at the ship."
"It crashed over at the beach," said Xion, "We'll meet there."
With that, the group dispersed throughout the entire lair, searching frantically for anything they could use to repair the crashed Gummi Ship. However, Oswald stayed behind for a few moments when something caught his eye lying on the floor of the lair's hallway. It was another summon charm; the Healthcare Companion charm. It was white with two black dots on it, connected by a black line. As Oswald picked it up and stuffed it into his pocket, he rushed over to help his friends search for parts.

Luckily, they didn't need to find too many parts, and Kyra and Rusty ended up fixing the Falcon in record time. So before they knew it, the group was in the Gummi Ship, flying over the ocean and landing in the city.
Once the Incredibles and the team of world travellers stepped off the Gummi Ship, they could hear the sounds of people screaming and the sounds of city destruction. They rushed to where the noises grew louder and louder until they reached the city centre where they saw Syndrome and the Omnidroid robot. Syndrome was flying in the air around the Omnidroid as the robot caused an absurd amount of damage to the city.
Myde, however, gulped nervously at the sight of the giant Omnidroid robot as he held on to his Sitar tightly.
"We seriously have to fight that thing?!" He asked.
Roxas released a groan. "Come on, Myde. If we don't do anything the whole city will get destroyed!"
"Yeah!" agreed Kyra as she shoved him closer toward the robot. "Man up already!"
"Syndrome!" Mr. Incredible shouted, capturing the villain's attention and making their presence known.
At the sound of his name, Syndrome spun around and his eyes widened at the sight of his former prisoners standing before him, ready to fight. "What?!" He exclaimed, "How did you get here?! How did you escape?!"
"Duh, we're the good guys; we always find a way out," said Lydia.
"You really need to teach your guards better security; that keycard was too easy to steal," Mrs. Incredible smirked.
Violet smirked too. "And those electric balls you trapped us with were pretty easy for me to break out of."
"Syndrome. Stop this. If you keep this up, innocent people will get hurt," Mr. Incredible said.
Syndrome snarled in anger. "Not a chance! I've waited too long for this!"
"You won't stop?" asked Roxas, "Then I guess we'll just have to stop you ourselves!"
Syndrome laughed evilly as he pressed a few buttons on the wrist of his suit, causing the Omnidroid to focus on the group. Then, he flew directly above it, ready to eliminate the heroes. "Fine, I like a challenge. Let's finish this!"
With that, the Omnidroid swung one of its large arms, sending Mrs. Incredible, Violet, Dash, Dragon, Xion and Oswald flying clear across the city, sending them straight into a cluster of heartless ready to fight them just as a barrier appeared around Syndrome, the Omnidroid and the others.
Mr. Incredible, Roxas, Naminé, Kyra, Rusty, Lydia and Myde were trapped and left to battle the villain and giant robot alone. Myde gulped in fear at the overwhelming size of the Omnidroid but with encouraging looks from his teammates, he nervously readied his Sitar.
Syndrome didn't hesitate for a second before ordering the Omnidroid to attack the heroes. Fortunately, Lydia and Naminé managed to jump out of the way just in time. Naminé recovered quickly and managed to counterattack with a strong blow from her blade. Lydia, unfortunately, wasn't quick enough to counterattack and couldn't dodge out of the way of another attack from one of the Omnidroid's claws. Naminé reacted quickly and healed the gypsy.
Kyra jumped in next and tried to climb the Omnidroid's arm to attack Syndrome directly but Syndrome was too quick for her. Rusty used his brief distraction to his advantage and attacked both Syndrome and the giant robot with magic which proved to be very effective. Roxas then jumped into the air and tried to slice Syndrome and managed to get a decent hit in. But Syndrome counterattacked by grabbing the blond ex-nobody in his zero-point energy and throwing him into Myde before he could attack with his Sitar.
Kyra attacked next by firing arrows at him, giving Naminé an opportunity to heal Myde and Roxas. Once healed, Myde attacked the Omnidroid with a powerful water spell and Roxas case blizzaga, both dealing a great deal of damage. Syndrome snarled at the group as he flew downwards and moved to attack Mr. Incredible directly. But at the last minute, Lydia attacked the villain with a stop spell.
This gave Mr. Incredible the opportunity he needed to unleash his full strength. "This will be Incredible!" He exclaimed as he rushed straight towards the Omnidroid and grabbed its legs. He lifted the massive robot up with ease as he started spinning around with the robot, hitting Syndrome a few times. Spinning faster and faster until he let go of the Omnidroid and threw it into a nearby building. After that, Mr. Incredible pulled his fist back and charged up his power. "Showtime!" He smirked as he rushed straight towards Syndrome and punched him directly in the gut, sending him flying into the Omnidroid and causing them to crash again into the same building, finishing the battle. The Omnidroid was now completely smashed and beyond repair. (2)
With the battle won, the barrier disappeared and the citizens started to come out of their hiding places, applause erupting for the heroes who saved them from Syndrome and the Omnidroid. The ones who were stuck outside the barrier didn't hesitate in rushing to the ones who had saved the city.
"You did great, honey!" Mrs. Incredible exclaimed as she hugged her husband.
"Way to go, Dad!" Dash shouted excitedly as he and Violet joined their parents in a family group hug.
Xion rushed over to Myde, Roxas and Naminé and pulled them into another group hug. "Now that's what I call teamwork!" Xion smiled. "Kinda wish I could have been in that fight too."
"Aww, then why didn't you take my place?!" Myde questioned.
Oswald and Lydia laughed as they moved to join them. "Come on, if we let you off the hook you'd end up hiding!" The rabbit laughed.
"True," agreed Lydia, "We can't afford to have any whiny cowards on our team."
"You guys are so mean," whined Myde.
Dragon smiled in relief that the battle was over but his smile disappear as he was violently punched in the shoulder by none other than Kyra.
"Ow!" Dragon exclaimed as he rubbed his shoulder. "What was that for?!"
"For calling me reckless earlier," she said as she crossed her arms and glared at him, "Do you know how much I hate being called that?!"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry! I'll keep that in mind," Dragon said.
Kyra turned away from the brunette as a small, faint blush spread across her cheeks. "But still, thanks for worrying about me back there," she mumbled so quietly that no one could hear her.
"Aghhh! Get away you, stupid mutt! Someone get this thing off of me!" Syndrome suddenly screamed. The group spun around and their eyes widened in complete surprise at what they saw.
Rusty had his teeth latched onto Syndrome's leg and was growling, using him as a chew toy. Syndrome himself was powerless against the strength of Rusty's mighty jaws since all his power was drained from the battle.
At the sight of the rather comedic situation, the Incredibles and the team of world travellers burst into laughter at Syndrome's struggle. Even Kyra couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"That's what you get!" Mr. Incredible laughed, "This is exactly what you deserve!"
"Way to go, Rusty!" laughed Naminé. "Go get your revenge!"
"Rusty... No... Bad boy... Syndrome's not a chew toy..." Kyra tried to say in between fits of laughter.
The group was surprised to see the normally serious Kyra laughing so much, but they decided to welcome it. It wasn't long before the police arrived to arrest Syndrome. Once the police made it clear they were taking Syndrome away, Rusty let his leg go but not before growling at him again, causing Syndrome to wince in discomfort and a small amount of fear.
Once Syndrome was gone, the destroyed Omnidroid began to glow, signalling the end of their time in this world. This time, Xion stepped forward with Lost Memory in her hand as a glowing crown symbol appeared underneath her feet. A beam of light shot out of the Omnidroid, forming a keyhole in the sky. Xion used her keyblade to unlock it, opening the gate to the next world.
"What was that?" Mrs. Incredible asked curiously.
"That was an awesome-looking light show, that's what it was!" Dash boasted.
Xion shook her head. "It means we have to go now."
"You're leaving already?" Violet asked with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
"You know you guys could stick around for a bit longer," said Mr. Incredible, "We make a pretty good team and now that supers can come out of hiding, this city could use some protectors."
Oswald shook his head. "Like you said, supers can come out of hiding now. I think the city will be just find with a family of them protecting it." The Incredibles all looked at each other as smiles spread to their faces; maybe protecting the city and fighting as a family would be a good thing to do.
"Thanks so much for all your help," Mrs. Incredible smiled as she used her extendable arms to pull the group into a hug. "Good luck on your journey." She said as she let them go.
"Come by and visit us anytime!" Dash exclaimed as he and his sister waved.
"See you guys later! Bye!" Roxas waved as he, Xion, Naminé, Myde, Oswald and Lydia started making their way back to the Gummi Ship. However, Dragon, Kyra and Rusty lagged a little behind.
Kyra picked up Rusty and was about to join the group before Dragon's voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Um, you know," The katana-wielder said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "You should laugh more often; it suits you," he mumbled as a small blush spread to his cheeks as he moved to join the others.
Kyra stood there silently for a few moments as Rusty looked up at her with a smirk and his eyebrow raised. Then, the fox started making teasing kissing noises at her. The black-haired girl glared down at her long-time companion
"Oh, shut up!" She loudly whispered at him as she joined the team on the Gummi Ship. Soon after, the Falcon took off, ready to head to the next world.
And with that, we've finished with the Incredibles. I really wanted to include Jack-Jack, Frozone and Edna but sadly I couldn't fit them into this world. Next time we'll check in with Sora's team and their final Disney world. See if you can guess the next world and the new summon charm. We've only got two more Disney world's left. See you guys later!
