A/N: Thanks for your patience while I am dealing with stuff in regards to updating my stories. I'm just glad people are enjoying my vision of the Waltons. Keep up the reviews and they are appreciated.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Waltons...too bad

Nora, Erin, and Mary Ellen were in Charlottesville having a girls day. While they were going through a store, Mary Ellen saw rayon and silk stockings. She walked over and was examining them when she was joined by the others.

"Mary Ellen, I found these pair of earrings that would look really nice with your cameo" Nora said before she saw when her friend was looking at. "Stockings, Mary Ellen?"

She smiled back. "I don't know, Nora. I am an engaged woman now with a very handsome fiancé"

Erin came by disgusted by her sister's comments. "You didn't seem to need those when you were with David"

Mary Ellen looked over at Erin. "Maybe not, but I think having a pair would be nice. Curt wants to take me out to a nice dinner sometime in the next few weeks. He says he likes my legs"

Nora and Mary Ellen laughed. "Maybe I should get a pair also. They're only twenty five cents. I wouldn't mind showing off in front of Stephan"

Erin was disgusted with the two of them. Mary Ellen for making herself up into a wanton woman for Curt, and Nora for talking about her boyfriend when she was also seeing Curt behind her sister's back.

"I think you should, because I will" Mary Ellen said as she grabbed a pair. "You should get yourself a pair, Erin. Maybe G.W. would like to see you in them"

"G.W. likes me no matter what I wear. David was the same way, Mary Ellen"

Mary Ellen was getting tired of Erin's attitude, but decided to kill her moody sister with kindness. "Whatever, Erin" Suddenly she saw something and quickly headed over.

"Ooh Nora, check this out" She quickly went over to a nearby rack and pulled out a mint green pussybow short sleeved blouse with red flowers on it. "It's so cute and it's on sale" She put it up to her. "How does it look, Nora?"

Nora laughed. "A lot better on you than it would on me. You should get it Mary Ellen. You said just a couple of days ago that you would like to get a couple blouses and skirts for when Curt takes you out here sometime soon. You've got enough money saved up from working for him"

Mary Ellen held it back up to herself. "I'm going to get it" She turned to Nora. "Come on, Nora I have to find a skirt to go with this and a pair of shoes"

"What what do you think of these earrings, Mary Ellen?"

"They are beautiful, but should I spend the money?" She thought for a moment. "It's for my wedding….yes I should"

Nora gave them to Erin along with Mary Ellen's blouse. If the young teenager can't contribute anything but surliness, she will make herself useful. "Hold these please, Erin. Thank you" She turned back to Mary Ellen. "Come on Mary Ellen"

As the women walked away, Erin fumed. "Making yourselves into harlots for a boy doesn't make you special"

Mary Ellen pulled into Nora's driveway. "Here you go. Thanks again for coming with us"

"I should thank you. I have a new pattern and material to make a dress for Steven when we go to Charlottesville next weekend. We still have to decide when the four of us should get together"

"Definitely soon. Oh, here's my negligee. Thanks for letting me hide it here."

"Anytime, Mary Ellen"

"You think he's going to like it?"

Nora turned to her friend, ignoring the pouty face of her friend's younger sister that she caught through the windshield from the rumble seat. "Curt's going to die when he sees you in it on your wedding night"

"I hope so"

Nora got out of John Boy's truck. "Goodbye, Mary Ellen" She turned to the other young woman. "Goodbye, Erin. It was fun today"

"I'm sure it was"

'Thank god I don't have to deal with her on the way home' Nora thought as she waved to her friend while Erin hopped into the front seat and moved bags around.

As Mary Ellen pulled into the road and headed home, she turned to her younger sister. "What was your problem today, Erin? You were crabby all day"

Erin turned to her sister. "I get bored when I do nothing but hop from store to store and listen to my sister and her friend talk about ways to dress to make their boyfriends all hot under the collar. I think if a man can't accept you for who you are then he's not worth it"

"Well, I'm sorry you didn't have a good time, but Momma wanted you to start looking at what kind of dress you want to wear for my wedding. She had too much to do today"

"I did and I didn't see anything I liked" Erin knew she was being a brat, but she didn't care.

Inhaling to calm herself, Mary Ellen looked over at her sister. "Fine, but why were you so cranky with Nora? She's a good friend to me and you either ignored her or just put down every idea she had"

"Because I didn't like them. It's not required that I like every idea in this world you know"

"Whatever Erin. When I stop at Curt's just wait out here, all right?"

"But I have to go to the ladies room"

"Fine. We're almost there"

After enduring what seemed to be the longest ride of her life, she turned into Curt's driveway. Both ladies got out and headed inside. They were greeted by the sounds of banging. They searched until they found the man in question working on his closet in the examination room. He turned around and greeted with a smile.

"There's my beautiful fiancée and another pretty girl. How did I get so lucky?" He said as he took his girl in his arm and kissed her.

"You didn't" Erin said. "Where is it, Mary Ellen?"

Mary Ellen was too busy staring at Curt. When she heard her name, the couple turned to the teenager. "Out the hallway and take a right. Second door on your left"

When Erin left the room, Mary Ellen exhaled in frustration and it didn't get by Curt. "Mary Ellen, what's wrong with Erin? She seems…..not happier than usual"

"She's been in a mood all day. My god, I thought I was going to slap her"

"It couldn't have been that bad. She's your younger sister"

A few minutes later, Erin returned to the examination room. She knew it was wrong, but she eavesdropped on the conversation.

"She had an attitude with Nora. I know she was upset about David but I can't believe she's still annoyed about that. I don't know what's wrong, Curt"

"She's a teenage girl. Dealing with your type at that age when I was younger only gave me a headache"

"Probably the same headache you gave any girls you were around"

Curt took her in his arms. "Yeah, but there are perks with girls"

Mary Ellen smiled. "Like what, Doctor Willard"

"Like the day we spent at your cabin, by the river, my examination table last night…."

"Oh yeah, those times were somewhat enjoyable. It's nice to see a man go dumb when he sees a naked woman"

Erin heard the couple laugh and then saw them kissing with their hands going into improper places for unwed couples. She felt disgust when she realized that Mary Ellen had….that…..with Curt. 'He's cheating on her with Nora and he couldn't wait for her until they got married. David did'

Realizing that they would be there all day if she didn't say something, Erin came forward. "I'm ready now"

Breaking apart, they smoothed down their clothes. "Sorry Erin" Curt said before he turned to his fiancée. "So I have to go the hospital tonight, but I will be up tomorrow to go with your family to services.

"Okay. I promised Momma I would help her with a quilt she was making for Mrs. Fordwick's baby. The shower is tomorrow night"

"See you tomorrow morning. I love you"

"Love you, too Curt"

They kissed and Curt watched the sisters walked away. He didn't miss the nasty look Erin gave, as fleeting as it was. He wasn't worried about it. The girl probably still had a crush on David. What she thought didn't matter, only what Mary Ellen did. Grabbing his crowbar, he went back into the closet to work, putting it out of his mind.

After supper, Olivia asked Erin to help her with dishes while everyone else went to do homework or find something else to do. The elder Walton didn't waste time getting to the point.

"I talked to Mary Ellen today. She said you were sullen and rude to Nora and Curt. I raised you better than that Erin Esther Walton. My question is why you are acting like a spoiled child."

"So because Mary Ellen said I was being rude that means it's absolutely true? What do she and Curt do, tattle to you with anything I say and do?"

"No. I've witnessed your sullenness with you sister and Curt. Your sister was very upset with your attitude with Nora today. Curt has been a gentleman and not said anything to me, but he's not a stupid man. I want an explanation for your behavior young lady"

"Curt is always with Nora. Doesn't that seem wrong to you somehow? An engaged man should not be with a single woman or one that has a boyfriend, especially one that is going to marry my sister. David never did that"

Olivia stopped what she was doing and turned to her daughter. "Young lady that will be enough! I've been tolerant of your feelings for David and your behavior with Mary Ellen because it was a crush that I thought would pass and your sister is ignoring you for the most part, but not anymore. I can't stop your feelings for him, but you will be respectful to Curt and Nora. Mary Ellen said they are colleagues and friends and I've never seen anything to indicate otherwise. Nora is a nice woman and has done a lot for Mary Ellen. This disgraceful behavior of yours ends now, understand?"

"Yes, ma'am"

Olivia calmed down a bit. "Good. Now get started on your homework"

Erin walked away steaming. 'Why do I have to be nice? I'm not the one cheating on my fiancée? I just hope David gets things rolling soon before it's too late'
