Blonde hair flew through the air, with each stroke Rebekah made with her brush. Another day, another one seduced.

She frowned at the man in the bed. Once more she had used her wiles to gain information for her family, and once more she felt disgusted. He was the worst of the worst, and yet she had to do it.

She rolled her eyes, and dropped her brush, as she walked over to the chair in the room, and sat down to pull her knee-length boots on, and zipped them up. The sound caused the man in the bed to moan, and slowly opened his eyes.

"Leaving already, honey." He drawled, moving to sit up, causing the sheet to fall from his dark skinned chest.

Rebekah plastered on her best fake smile, and shrugged. "Well, you know, I have to get home or else my brothers will worry." She stated, zipping the last boot.

He nodded, and moved to stand up from the bed as she did. He grasped her upper arms, and she tried not to feel disgusted as his naked body hit hers. He placed his lips on hers, and softly nibbled. She returned the gesture, causing the man to chuckle against her lips.

He pulled up, and gazed down into her eyes. "When will I see you again?" He asked, stroking her face.

She shrugged, and lowered her eyes. Play the part, Rebekah. She thought, lifting her right hand to his chest, and stroked it. "Soon." She whispered, lifting her eyes to gaze into his.

He smiled, and kissed her quickly, before she pulled back, and moved to the door of his bedroom. "I'll be waiting." He stated, watching her open the door to leave.

She smiled her best smile, and nodded. "I look forward to it." She returned, sending him a wink before leaving.

She closed the door behind her, and headed out of the small house, where he lived. Walking towards her car, she pulled out her keys, and opened the driver door to slip inside. Quickly locking the doors in the car, she cranked up and drove away from his house. She pulled out her phone, from a secured location under her seat, and unlocked the screen.

She dialed the number as she hit the highway, and waited for the other side to stop ringing.

"Well, little sister, how was your latest lover?" A teasing accented voice called on the other side.

She rolled her eyes. "You know how I hate that word, Nik." She scolded, driving slowly down the road.

He chuckled on the other end, and she could just imagine a smile on his face. "What did you find out?" He asked, seriously.

She sighed. "Not much. You'll have to wait until I get home, and after I shower off his smell." She grimaced, trying to resist the shudder.

Klaus chuckled. "I'll be waiting, little sister." He stated, lightly. "Be safe." He added, causing her to smile.

Rebekah lowered her eyes for a moment, before paying attention to the road. "Awe, Nik, I didn't know you cared." She teased, imagining him rolling his eyes.

"Just hurry home." He stated, ending the call.

Rebekah placed her phone in her lap, and laughed. Her brother was something else.

Caroline dropped her phone on the table, and sighed. Ten calls. Ten calls to foreign contacts who owed her favors. Some even her boss didn't know, especially not her. These were the ones she had helped in secret when she had been sent over to study for two months with Interpol.

They weren't bad, per se, but they needed protection from Interpol. True, she was straight laced, but they didn't deserve jail. All they did was protect their families, and push merchandise through the borders. Though, they had never moved a shipment as big as what Klaus had in mind, she was sure.

She stood up from her chair, and walked to the window in her room. The sun was moving over the sky, hitting the water of the Mississippi in the distance with a bright orange glow. It was beautiful, and it seemed to calm her nerves.

Klaus would be arriving soon, and she was nervous. Bonnie's words played through her mind, and she swore that the little restaurant girl knew the truth about her. Caroline shook her head, and bowed it.

She touched her mother's locket, and sighed. It never left her neck, and it never would.

She closed her eyes, remembering happier times, and smiles filled with laughter.

"Does the cop always nab the bad guy, mommy?" Little Caroline asked her mother, who was smiling brightly.

"Not always, because sometimes the bad guy isn't always bad, Caroline." She answered, bending down to her level.

Caroline smiled brightly, and nodded. "So if a guy steals something does that make him bad?" She asked, inquisitively.

Her mother smiled. "It depends on what he stole, what he did to acquire it, and for what purpose." She answered, softly. "Always remember, my angel, never judge a person until you have all the facts." She added, touching her daughter's six year old nose.

A banging interrupted them, and Caroline straightened her back. She knew what was coming, and she knew her mother would protect her.

Her mother would always protect her.

Always.

Caroline felt tears fall down her face at the memory, which seemed so fresh in her past. She turned around when she heard a knock on her door, and quickly wiped her eyes before she walked over to open the door.

She faked a smile, as she opened the door, which was unsuccessful when she caught sight of Klaus, frowning, and not just frowning. He had anger on his face.

"What's wrong?" She asked, fearing that he had found out the truth about her.

She was dead.

~X~

Bonnie shook her head as she wiped down a few tables, and hummed to herself. When she woke up this morning, she found she had been right that night. Kol wasn't going to stay. He never stayed. No matter what she did, he never would.

She straightened, and slammed the rag down on the table. Damn that man!

She turned around and walked out of the restaurant towards the small dock beside the river. She walked down the boardwalk, inhaling the water scented breeze. She stopped at the railing, and propped her arms on top.

Her green eyes scanned the waters, and found them calming and nurturing. For two years, she had loved Kol Mikaelson. She waited for him, sacrificed for him, and comforted him. She knew the danger that came from loving a man as dangerous as him, but she didn't care. Ever since they had been together, the first time, he was protective of her, and she loved it.

Sure, she could take care of herself, but so much depended on the way he would take care of her. She knew from her friend, Rebekah, that Kol was depressed without her. That gave her hope.

No, she wouldn't give up on him, and if last night was any indication, he was weakening, and soon, he would realize that she was the one for him.

She smiled, bowing her head. Soon, he would be there every night and every morning.

Soon.

~X~

Caroline swallowed hard as Klaus closed his eyes.

"I apologize, love." He whispered, shaking his head. "I just received some news, and it wasn't great news." He added, looking away from her.

Caroline nodded, not wanting to say a word.

He turned his head to look at her, and smiled faintly. "Have you got everything set?" He asked his eyes boring into hers.

Caroline nodded, and stepped aside to allow him to enter. If he was going to kill her, he would have done it when she opened the door.

"May I ask what news you received?" She asked, closing the door behind him.

He sighed, and clasped his hands behind his back. "An enemy of the Hybrid is getting ready to make a move, and when he does, it'll be war." He answered, tensely.

Caroline nodded. "I see." She began, stepping closer to him. "And that's why you need the weapons shipment moved?" She asked, softly.

He nodded. "Yes, the weapons being shipped out are a trade." He stated, not giving much out.

Caroline looked away, and tried to piece together the information in her mind.

Klaus watched as her mind worked, and noticed how her forehead creased slightly the deeper her thought ran. She was a gorgeous creature, and he loved watching her. Too bad, he didn't trust her, at least not completely.

She turned her attention back to him, and inhaled deeply before letting it out slowly. "I've gotten in touch with my contacts, and they have agreed to move the merchandise for a small price." She stated, catching his eyes.

Klaus smirked for the first time since he made it back. "How much?" He asked, watching her smile.

"2 grand." She stated, watching his eyebrows shoot up. "Each."

He opened his mouth, and let out a small light laugh. "That's pretty cheap, love. Are you sure they know what they're doing?" He asked, watching her face turn cold and serious.

"I trust these people with my life." She stated, firmly, crossing her arms over her chest. "They don't ask questions. They don't even want to know what they're moving." She added, lifting her chin higher.

Klaus' interest was piqued. "They're willing to move the merchandise without asking questions." He said, a smirk playing on his lips. "In my line of work, they all ask questions. You just have to find the right way to quiet them." He replied, stepping closer to her.

She stiffened slightly, but didn't budge. "Think what you want, Klaus. You wanted the merchandise moved through the Middle East; I got you a way without much of a fuss, and without the authorities knowing. My people can get them through without any detection, because they operate below the radar, and they don't advertise. The authorities don't even know they exist." She added, after a brief pause, throwing her arms around slightly during her speech.

Klaus searched her eyes, and saw the truth in them. He let the smile touch his lips, as he opened his mouth. "How did you come to know such people, Caroline?"

Caroline lowered her gaze, and moved towards the window once more. "In the circles I moved in, I've come to know quite a few people, who I consider allies and friends." She whispered, with a smile, turning her head to look at him, so he could see the truth in her eyes.

He smiled, and nodded, as his lips pursed. "When can these 'friends' of yours be ready?" He asked, stepping closer to her.

Caroline turned around completely and smiled. "Whenever you want." She answered, shrugging her shoulders.

He nodded, and clasped his hands behind his back. "I have to move the shipment in two days or I lose this deal." He stated, watching her carefully as his eyes narrowed.

Caroline nodded. "They can get it done." She stated, folding her arms over her chest.

Klaus let out a small chuckle, and nodded. "They better, because I can tell you, Ms. Dobbs," He began lowering his voice to a dangerous tone as he approached her. "The Hybrid doesn't look on betrayal and incompetence to kindly." He stated, watching her swallow, but keep her stance straight.

Caroline felt her heart beat faster, and she wasn't sure if it was the proximity of Klaus or the fact that his tone suggested just how dark this man could be. "I assure you, they can get it done, Klaus." She stated, confidently.

Klaus smirked, and searched her eyes deeply. He was standing only a foot away from her, and he could see how her eyes were dilating, and he could see her chest move up and down from the intensity of the moment. No matter what she felt about touching, he could see that she was just as affected by his presence as he was by hers.

Caroline felt her body ache in places she never imagined before, and her veins were on fire as the blood pumped through them. The intensity of his gaze was making her feel something she never dreamed she would ever feel: desire.

She had to snap out of it. She had to. She could not feel such a feeling towards a man who ran guns and killed people, or at least she thought he killed people. In his line of work, he had to have killed. Yes, she had to keep thinking that.

She couldn't give in. She couldn't.

But oh God, his eyes! She bit the inside of her lip, while her eyes continued to be locked with his. His eyes were going to be her undoing, not because of the intensity of his gaze, but the color and the way he looked at her.

She had to snap out of this. She had to. She just had to.

Shaking her head, she snapped out of the staring match, and moved back from him. She cleared her throat, and kept her eyes away from him.

Klaus swallowed hard, and lowered his gaze. His body was sending him messages, and he hated it. No woman had ever made him feel this way, and he didn't like it. It made him feel weak, and that was something he could not stand to feel. He shouldn't feel weak.

"You can inform your contacts, they have the job. The money will be sent after they have done their job." He replied, stepping back from her.

Caroline nodded, and tightened her arms around her chest. "I'll let them know." She whispered, lowering her eyes.

He licked his parched lips, and finally chanced looking at her. "You should tell them that they should expect the merchandise to arrive with two of my men, who will oversee the sendoff." He said, firmly.

Caroline nodded, and kept her eyes avoiding his for a moment, and then finally locked with his. "I'll tell them." She remarked, professionally.

Klaus nodded, and turned on his heel to leave.

"Klaus."

He paused halfway to the door, and turned back around to look at her.

"Thank you." She whispered, watching him, and braving to step closer to him.

Klaus nodded, and smiled. "Thank me when you've completed your side of the deal, Caroline." He stated, turning back towards the door.

Caroline sighed, and bowed her head. "Still, the Hybrid wouldn't have given me the chance if it wasn't for you." She stated, lowly.

Klaus smiled, and glanced over his shoulder. "Like I said, you can thank me when the deal if finished." He stated, watching her smile lightly.

She nodded, as he opened the door, and stepped through.

"Good night, Caroline." He replied, in a husky accent.

She resisted the urge to shiver. "Good night." She called in return as the door closed. She sighed, and bowed her head. Walking towards the door, she locked it, and walked over to the table to pick up her phone.

Pulling up the list of contacts, she hit a name and sent a message.

He agreed to your terms. Three days. Send details.

She waited for only two minutes before the answer came back.

Everything is set. Agency doesn't know?

Caroline sighed, and text back quickly. No, and they won't, not about this.

~Okay, let us know.

~In the Morning

~Morning

Caroline sighed, and lowered her phone. She just hoped her friend would pull this off. If there was one person who could help her outside of the Agency, and keep it low.

It was her.

~Restaurant in Paris~

Katherine Pierce lowered her phone, and smiled. Her code name was Kabul, and how she got that name was not something that she liked to talk about. Granted Kabul was the name of a city in Afghanistan, but during the years of working in underground movement of pushing merchandise in and out of countries, the name became associated with her. Not many people knew of her true identity, actually one person knew: Caroline.

She shook her head. Her friend, a U.S Marshal, had close ties into the world Katherine lived in. She often wondered why Caroline chose the profession of being a Marshal, when she had the cunning and knack of being a wonderful criminal, but Katherine knew the reason, and only Katherine knew.

She lifted the glass of wine, and sipped it slowly. Lowering the glass, she leaned back against the iron chair. She relished this life, and she relished the perks that came with it.

She let out a secret chuckle. She had plans to travel to New Orleans, and after this deal with Caroline completed, she was going to do just that.

She missed her friend, and wanted to see what Caroline was into this time. If there was one thing Katherine was, it was being a great friend, especially to a woman like Caroline Forbes.

PLEASE NO HARSH COMMENTS!

Okay, I introduced a surprise character at the end, but let's face it, Katherine is such fun to write, and I couldn't resist! And how about Katherine's past with Caroline? What do you think?

Next chapter will be up as soon as I can.

Until Next Time...
