~Present Day~
"I don't give a damn what Alaric wants, Jeremy." Caroline spat into her phone. "I'm staying until the trial is over." She added, strongly, ending the call and dropping the phone in the console of the car.
Katherine smiled, and let out a chuckle. "Who would have thought that you, Caroline Forbes, would stand up to your boss?" She remarked, moving her eyes over her friend.
Caroline sighed, and her face turned hard. "That's what love does, I suppose." She remarked, reaching for the door handle of the car. "I'll see you in five hours." She replied, opening the door.
Katherine nodded. "Caroline," She called out, causing Caroline to pause with her right leg out the door. "Why are you doing this?" She asked, shaking her head. "I mean, just a few years ago, you wouldn't even consider breaking the law for fear of turning into him, and now…" She trailed off, shrugging.
Caroline leaned back into the seat, and reached up through her jacket, to fiddle with her necklace. "My mom told me that when you love someone, you do whatever it takes to keep them safe, and that it didn't matter the personal risk it took." She whispered, sadly. "I love Klaus, Kat." She added, strongly. "I love him so much that it hurts to breathe." She replied, turning her head. "And because of that love, I will never turn into him." She stated her voice hardening on the last word.
Katherine nodded. "I know, Care, but would Klaus approve?" She asked, in a friend like tone.
Caroline sighed. "I don't care." She answered, with a smile. "Everything is set, and I am going to make sure that it goes off without a hitch." She replied, moving to get out of the car.
"Caroline," Katherine called. Caroline paused, and leaned down to see her friend. "Is five hours going to be enough for you two?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Get out of here, Kat. Go find Elijah." She replied with a laugh. "I'll see you in five hours."
Katherine nodded. "I'll be here." She replied, cranking the car up.
Caroline closed the door, and waved off her friend as she drove away. She sighed, and jammed her hands into her trench coat jacket pockets, which came down to just below her knees, before turning around to enter the back door of the courthouse. The video feed had been looped, and Rebekah and Bonnie were in the control room once again. Although this time, the guards were sleeping with a powerful sedative the girls had given them.
The loop was supposed to last for five hours, and it would be enough for Caroline to get Klaus ready for what was to come, and to spend a little time with him.
She smiled as she entered the dark building. It was after hours, only ten o'clock at night, and the building was deserted or supposed to be. Not wanting to risk being heard in case, Caroline had put on her flat heeled boots, instead of her regular business high heels.
She walked through the halls undetected, and smiled as she rounded the corner to the cell block where Klaus was staying.
She smiled at Matt, who nodded, and slipped her the keys to the cell.
"I'm going on my break, but I won't be far in case something happens." He replied, with a knowing smile. "Lock the door behind you." He added, with a nod.
Caroline nodded, and clutched the keys to her person. "Thank you, Matt." She whispered, watching him shrug.
"He doesn't deserve to be locked up, no matter what he's done." He replied, softly. "Good luck." He whispered, before walking away towards the lounge, which was ten feet away.
Caroline sighed, and opened the door quickly. She closed the door, and smiled as she quietly locked it.
"I'm not hungry, Matt." Klaus remarked.
Caroline smiled brightly, as she took in his form, sitting on the jail cell cot with his head bowed, and arms resting on his legs with his hands folded together. "Oh, I didn't bring food." She stated, shaking her head.
Klaus' head jerked up, and he quickly stood up. "Caroline," He began, looking around them. "What are you doing here?" He asked, worriedly.
Caroline lifted the keys, and unlocked the cell quickly. "I'm here to bust you out." She stated in a fake mob tone.
Klaus shook his head with a laugh, and opened his arms as she raced into them. Throwing her arms around his neck, she buried her face in his neck. His arms snaked around her waist, and his face became buried in her blonde hair covering her nape.
"Oh, my love." He whispered, holding her tightly.
She laughed, and lifted her head back to look at him. "I came to see you, and before you say anything, I should tell you that Damon exercised his judgelike duty and removed the bugs from the cell block and the video feed in this room. The only cameras are out in the hall and just outside." She explained, firmly, stroking the back of his head.
Klaus shook his head. "Let me guess, it needed some persuasion to accomplish this." He concluded, but she shook her head.
"No, Damon did it as a favor to you and his brother. Besides, there are people who don't want to see you in here." She whispered, huskily.
He smirked. "There are people who want to see me dead, Caroline, which is why I'm in here." He stated, firmly.
She sighed. "I know." She whispered, lowering her eyes. "I hate it, but I know." She whispered, lifting her eyes to look at him.
He smiled, and squeezed her waist with his hands before lifting his right hand to touch her face. "It'll be over soon, love." He whispered, softly.
She shivered. "I know." She whispered, leaning her forehead forward to touch his. "I just don't like this." She stated, in a low whisper.
He sighed, and lifted his face to kiss her forehead. It was moments like this that made him wonder how she could love him, a monster.
She pulled her head back, and sighed, pulling her right hand down, she stroked his scruffy face. "Don't brood, Klaus." She whispered, lightly. "You'll get like Stefan." She added, watching him laugh. She returned the laugh, but let her voice lower, just so she could hear his.
He shook his head, and pulled her closer. "How long?" He asked, searching her eyes.
"Five hours." She answered, with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
He pursed his lips, and nodded. "Well, then, better make the best of it." He whispered, slamming his lips onto hers in a searing kiss.
She smiled against his lips, and returned his kiss with equal fervor, as she clung to him. Her long trench coat, became untied and unbuttoned, and she pulled back to see his reaction.
Klaus swallowed as he gazed at her beautiful body, and shook his head. "You are a goddess, love." He whispered, lifting his gaze to her.
She smiled, and unbuttoned his orange jumpsuit. She pushed the fabric off his shoulders, and rubbed her fingers over his chiseled chest. "You are a god, yourself." She whispered, kissing him once more.
He moaned and lifted her in his arms, only to slam her against the cell walls with a small bang. She moaned and one hand gripped the bar behind her as the other clung to his shoulder. Her legs wrapped around him, and she smiled, lustfully as the zipper from his jumpsuit wounded lightly between their pants.
His lips attached themselves to her breasts, and she felt her insides burn with desire, as his tongue licked her skin and sucked on her nipples in turn. She threw her head back, and bit back a moan. Oh, it was heaven just to feel him against her once again. His hands moved over her skin, and she was partially thankful that he left the coat on her back.
He lifted his face, and smirked devilishly as he pushed inside her. The look of satisfaction in both their eyes was enough for him to begin moving.
This wasn't the same as the loving before, but to them it was…them.
He slammed into her body, while still being careful not to hurt her too much, and groaned as her walls clenched around him.
She lifted his face with her right hand, and kissed his lips with each movement he made. "You should know," She whispered, sucking on his lips as he continued to move within her. She moaned before continuing. "This has been one of my fantasies since I fell for you." She added, with a smile.
He groaned, and slammed into her once more, hard, causing them both to moan. "Same here." He whispered, watching her smile soften and then turn lustful.
"Klaus…" She trailed off, when he shifted his position, and hit her in the special place he knew well. She threw her head back, and wanted to scream, but she knew she couldn't. Instead, she lowered her head, and slammed her lips against his as he continued to push inside her.
Her body shuddered against him, and she moaned into his mouth as she felt the white hot passion flood her once again, this time he joined her as they both moaned in unison, against each other's mouths.
Klaus leaned forward, grasping the bars behind her, and leaned against her. He chuckled and shook his head. "You drive me crazy, love. Having sex in a jail cell, with a guard just outside the door." He shook his head, and tusked at her.
She giggled, and shrugged her shoulders. "Oh, well, I don't think of it as having sex, Klaus." She replied, wrapping her arms around his neck. "It's love." She added, pecking his lips lightly. "Besides, Matt went to the lounge to give us some privacy." She whispered, against his lips.
He chuckled. "Oh, love, I think I've been a bad influence on your moral character." He whispered, kissing her lips.
She shook her head. "Oh, Klaus, you are just what I needed." She whispered, kissing him in-between the words.
He returned the kiss for a moment, before pulling back to look at her left shoulder. "You never took it off, did you?" He asked, moving his right hand to stroke it.
She shook her head, and smiled. "How could I?" She asked, twirling her fingers through his hair.
His fingers moved to her necklace, and he swallowed hard. Lifting his gaze, he searched her eyes. Questioning her motive for wearing the trinket he gave.
She nodded. "I do, Klaus." She whispered, kissing him with all the love she felt and more.
He dropped the necklace against her skin, and returned the kiss with tears falling down his eyes.
Five hours later, Caroline kissed his lips one last time, and exited the cell reluctantly. She turned at the door, and touched his chest with her right hand.
"I don't want to leave you." She whispered, shaking her head.
He sighed, and grasped her right hand with his and kissed her palm. "I don't want you to either, but you have to. If the others find you here…" He trailed off, when she shook her head.
"I don't care about the others, Klaus. I only care about you." She whispered, tears filling her eyes.
He tilted his head to the side, and pulled her to him in a comforting embrace. "We'll see each other soon, love." He whispered, kissing her head as she cried against him.
She nodded against his shoulder, and wished she could tell him her plan, but she couldn't. He would refuse, and that would start an argument she wasn't ready for.
She pulled back and kissed him one last time, before turning to lock the cell door. Lifting her hand, she formed the sign 'I love you', and smiled when he returned it.
Straightening her shoulders, she turned and headed for the door.
Klaus watched her go, and sighed. He wanted to tell her that he knew her plan, but he couldn't.
Not yet.
