Haha, so um, nobody kill me please. I'm sooooo sorry about the long wait. Fanfiction went all crazy on me and I couldn't update. I had one of my followers from another story post a review telling y'all this so I hope you saw that. Anyway, I've had this chapter waiting to be put up, but finally I can update. I hope y'all like it.

The majority of the Amis watched as Gavroche laid still in his bed, the only movement the rising and falling of his chest. Courfeyrac hadn't left the little boy's side since he fell asleep a day ago. Occasionally the gamin would shift in his sleep, whimpering against the pain even in unconsciousness. Nobody had said much, they all just stood there, waiting and hoping. Finally breaking the silence, the door opened and revealed Enjloras and Marius, tired, cold, and possibly frustrated. If they were, they didn't show it, covering their anger so that if Gavroche did wake up, he wouldn't worry. Marius was the first to say anything.

"Has he woken up since we left?"

"No, I'm really starting to get worried." Joly put his hand on the boy's forehead, and sighing when he felt how hot he was. He turned back to Enjloras.

"Did you find him?"

Enjloras shook his head. "No, we looked for hours, but when Therdanier doesn't want to be found, he wont be." The discussion was suddenly cut short by a small noise from the bed. They all turned and saw Gavroche's eyes were squeezed shut, and he looked upset and even worried. He tossed his head back and forth, and just when they thought he would wake up, it stopped. Once again, he was motionless, laying there, complete still. They watched in suspense and to their surprise, the boy's eyes finally opened. Nobody knew what to say, they'd been waiting for this so long, but now that the moment finally came, they didn't know what to do.

"Gav?" Courfeyrac took the little boy's hand and stared into his eyes, searching to see if he was truly awake.

"Gav, can you hear me?" This time he got a response, Gavroche blinked several times and then finally looked at Courfeyrac.

"Courf?" His voice was small and hoarse, but it was there. Jehan spoke up. "I'll go get some soup and water." He slipped out of the room and in a few minutes came back up with a small tray. He handed it to Courfeyrac and he placed it on the bedside table.

"Gav, you've gotta eat ok?" All he got was a nod, and he gently slipped his and under the boy's head and helped him get some of the broth down. It was obvious that Gavroche was hungry; he tried to eat the soup as fast as he could, but Courfeyrac made sure he ate slowly.

"Slow down, Gav, slow down. The soup's not going anywhere." He earned the slightest grin from the boy, but soon his eyes began to fall again. Courfeyrac laid Gavroche's head back onto the pillows and set the soup aside.

"Courf… still hungry…." Gavroche was trying to slip words in as he felt himself slipping into sleep.

"It's alright, Gav, you can have more when you wake up again." He brushed the boy's sweaty bangs off his forehead. Finally, the boy let his eyes close and he fell asleep.

Soo yeah, that's the chapter hope y'all liked it. Once again, real sorry for the long wait. R&R :)
