I'M SO SORRY I didn't mean to leave y'all for so long, but I've been insanely busy. Anyway, I have the last two chapters written so here.
Gavroche was floating in a sweet world of nothingness. All he knew was black and black was all he knew. The dark was warm, and welcoming. Allowing him to feel nothing. No pain, sadness. Not the cold of the harsh bitter air or the constant hunger gnawing in his stomach. He just felt nothing. But he began to feel himself pulled towards light. He came to a burning pain in his right shoulder and a dull but intense throbbing in his foot. He slowly became aware of his surroundings, and he felt something cold against his forehead and against the back of his neck. Eyes still closed, he tried to move his leg but a rod of fire shot up his leg like a rocket. Suddenly, a ray of light fell across his eyes and then it disappeared. He felt the sudden absence of the cold on his forehead. His head was gently lifted slightly, and then it was laid back on the soft pillow. Gavroche felt something warm against his forehead and then he felt a pair of lips brush across it. The cold was returned to both his neck and his forehead and then heard something that he couldn't understand. The light came again and the gamin only muster enough strength to say one small thing:
"Fey"
Courfeyrac wasn't even sure if he had heard the word, he whirled around to see the poor boy laying there, his eyes slit open the slightest bit. He walked over to his little angle and grabbed his hand.
"Vroche? Can you hear me?" He felt the slightest squeeze on his hand and the boy's eyes slid open the smallest bit. They were red and glazed with fever, and he could tell that the small boy was in pain.
"Oh. Vroche"
"F-fey" When the boy spoke, his voice was small and shaky, but it was there.
"I'm here, Gav, I'm here."
When the rest of the amis walked into Gavroche's room that morning, the came into a heart wrenching sight. The little boy was curled up like a puppy, with Courfeyrac's arms wrapped protectively around him. Enjloras quietly shooed them out and they left the gamin safe where he belonged.
I know it's short, but I already posted the next chapter.
