I cracked my eyes open and groaned as a bright light flooded them. Once my eyes adjusted, I scanned the room. It looked like a hospital room except for the fact there was carpet on the floors and expensive curtains on the wall, which were drawn shut. I sat back for a moment placing my hand over my heart as I sighed. Then I felt it. An unfamiliar rhythm under the skin. I shot up from my position as I kept my hand on my chest. "I-I'm human…" I heard a beeping sound to my left and looked over at a heart rate monitor. It said my heart was beating 86 beats a minute. I stared at the monitor, mouth hanging open when my hospital room door burst open.

I blinked, looking up as Walter and Integra walk in, a doctor trailing in right behind them. I watched them all crowd around my bed. The doctor spoke first. "Miss Steadman, do you remember happened?"

I nodded. "Where's Alucard?"

Integra was next. "What happened, Amber?"

"The vampire I killed said I smelled human. I brushed it off. Alucard and I walked by a candy store. The chocolates looked good. I bought some. I ate some. They tasted great. Then my heart began to jolting." I took a deep breath then looked at them all. "Where is Alucard?"

Walter spoke then as the doctor waved a light in my eyes. "We believe that something in your body consumed the venom that turned you, causing you to become human again. When you ate physical food, it was like a defibrillator and it started your heart."

"That's great to know but WHERE IS ALUCARD!?" I screamed the last part and they all looked at me with shocked looks on their faces. I pointedly ignored their stares as my favorite red clad vampire melted through the wall and locked eyes with me. His jaw was set as he stood in the back ground. "Sir Integra, I respectfully request that you all leave me to be alone with Alucard. Please."

She stared at me for a moment, then when she saw the tears in my eyes, she nodded. "Everyone out of here. Now." I watched them all leave the room then I looked up at the Nosferatu. His coat, hat, goggles, and vest melted away as he stared at me.

"What's up, Dracula?" I smiled hesitantly, staring up into his eyes.

He scoffed then walked over to the winged back chair beside my bed, taking a seat. "You should know, its beating under your chest."

I frowned watching him. "Are you mad at me? From what Walter just said, it seems that I couldn't control it."

He growled, staring at me. "That is not the point. You should have told me that you threw up the blood, and you should have told me what the pest said."

"Alucard. I didn't know what was happening. Hell, if I had known you cared I would have told you immediately." I crossed my arms over my chest, staring at the blanket covering my form. I was still the same shape I was before I returned to my human state and I was already deciding in my head to keep working out. I was brought back to reality when I felt a gloved hand clasp my leg.

"Amber." I looked at the vampire and smiled slightly.

"Yes?"

"You aren't scared by this?" I blinked, staring at him.

"Well no. I mean, I'm scared because I think that you are going to drop me like a hat, now that I am human." I stared sadly at the ground.

I heard him growl then he caught my chin between his finger and thumb and jerked my face up, forcing me to look at him. "You are not very smart if you think I am going to leave you alone, especially now that you are human." I watched him quietly as the tears that were in my eyes finally spilled down my face. "You are stuck with me, my little human."

I smiled through my tears, which he wiped away quickly, and leaned up kissing his cheek. He froze then smiled back down at me. "Can you please phase some clothes in here for me, I feel very exposed in this gown."

He laughed as a pile of clothes tumbled onto the bed and landed in my lap. "Out vampire. I'm not letting you see me naked."

He cackled then melted through the floor. I got up quickly and looked at the pile of clothes. A pair of designer jeans, a Victoria Secret bra and panties, and a V neck, long sleeved shirt. I saw a pair of Converse sitting under my bed and I couldn't help but grin. He knew what my favorite shoes were. Quickly, I pulled on my clothes after I disconnected the heart monitor clasped to my finger. I looked at myself in the mirror on the door and smiled. I didn't look too bad. I cracked open the door and peaked out. When I saw no one around, I walked out and started down the hall. I didn't make it very far though because a cold arm wrapped around my waist. I gasped, my cheeks reddening as I felt my back press against a strong solid chest.

"Little human, where are you going?" I looked up through my hair and giggled as grin met me back.

"I'm hungry!" I blushed redder as Alucard bent down, burying his face into my hair.

"So am I, little human." I sighed and rolled my eyes, pushing against his chest.

"Let's just go to the kitchen." Alucard grinned as we both melted through the floor. He let me go as soon as he hit solid ground and I stumbled forward landing against the counter top. I looked up at the red clad vampire and glared at him. "Ass!"

He smirked watching me and I rolled my eyes, walking over to the fridge. I rummaged around in it for about 5 minutes, then I stood, throwing a blood bag at the back of the Nosferatu's head. He chuckled as he caught it and ripped it open with his teeth. "Thank you, my dear."

I nodded smiling at him, then groaned. "I can't find anything that I want to eat."

"What is my little human wanting to eat?"

I stood straight, thinking for a moment. "Oh I know! I want Chinese food!"

Alucard laughed as he looked over at me. "Chinese food it is."

I sat at my desk and turned on my laptop, chewing on a piece of sesame chicken. Alucard was reclining on my bed, with his hands on the back of his head. I glanced at him, smiling quickly, then I popped another piece of chicken in my mouth as I pulled up a search engine.

"So what is Integra going to do with me now?"

Alucard shrugged, his trademark grin spreading across his face. "Hard to say, little human. But I'm sure she will find a job for you."

I nodded, pulling up a manga website. Sighing, I pulled up a chapter on Black Butler and began reading. "Hard to believe that a person I used watch a TV show about all the time is sitting not five feet next to me and I now consider it normal."

The Nosferatu chuckled, sitting up from the bed. "Yes. And it is also difficult to believe that the said human agreed to come along with me without a second's thought."

I grinned looking up at him. "Hey! I used to tell my mom all the time that if one of my hero's showed up I was going to drop everything and leave Virginia in the dust."

"Did you really?"

"Yep, yep."

He grinned at me as walked over, wrapping an arm loosely around my neck. "Well I have to say that I am very glad you had that mindset."

I looked over my shoulder at him and smiled. "So am I."

Alucard stood up quickly and I watched as his ear twitched. "I hear my master calling. I shall return soon, little human." He ruffled my hair before vanishing through the floor.

I grumbled, pushing my hair from my face after he left. After a few minutes, I finished my food and tossed the container in the trash. I lifted a cigarette off the table, and lit the tip, pulling a long drag from it. Smiling, I stood up and walked into the living room after shutting my laptop. Maybe today I could relax a little bit. I sat on the edge of my couch arm and tipped myself back, flopping down. I reached out and grabbed my remote, flipping to a channel where Ghost Adventures was on and grinned as I watched the show. I may have returned to being human but I still wasn't regretting the fact that I was whisked away by a sadistic vampire who made me feel like a princess.
