Present Day

He growled as he glared at the piece of paper in his hand. This was unreal! How dare she do this! He dropped the paper on his desk, and slammed his hands on top with a loud bang. "How the hell could she do this?" He demanded, closing his eyes and shaking his head.

The door to his office opened, causing Alaric to lift his head, and glare at the man entering his office.

Tyler noticed the tension on his boss, and cautiously approached him. "Problem, boss?" He asked, carefully.

Alaric lifted the paper, and handed it to Tyler with a scoff. "This is the problem." He replied, dropping his arm to his side.

Tyler read the paper in his hands, and slowly shook his head. "This has to be a mistake." He muttered, not believing what he was reading.

Alaric scoffed. "Oh, it's no mistake. Jeremy gave that to me this morning, and said she had it Fed-Exed overnight." He stated, dropping into his brown leather desk chair.

"Why did she do this?" Tyler asked, anger and confusion running through his body.

Alaric shook his head. "I don't know, but something went on for the year she was undercover, and I want to know what before we process this." He stated, leaning on the desk with his forearms.

Tyler nodded, and lifted his head. "Sir, you know that she won't speak to me. She refuses to take my calls." He replied, dropping the paper on Alaric's desk.

Alaric nodded, and took the paper to stack on his desk. "Well, then you'll just have to go down there and find the truth." He replied, turning his gaze back to Tyler.

"Sir," Tyler shook his head, and swallowed hard. "I can't go down there. I'm not a field person. I'm a tech nerd who sits in a room with my computers. I can't." He ranted, slightly, though it wasn't doing any good.

"You are going, Tyler, and Jeremy is going with you. The trial starts today, and if this paper is any indication, then that trial won't last past the second day, and that means Mikaelson will be back out on the streets and all this work would be for nothing!" He stated, with authority.

Tyler nodded, and backed away from Alaric, towards the door. He left the room, and paused just outside the door. A sly smile crossed his features as he thought about his new assignment. Hearing that the trial wouldn't last, made him giddy with excitement, and it made everything he had worked for this past year worth it.

Walking down the hall, he pulled out his phone, and sent out a simple text.

He bought it. I'm coming.

Caroline smiled as Joey finished up his breakfast, and pushed his bowl away from him.

"Done?" She asked, reaching for the bowl.

"Yes, ma'am." He answered, with a smile.

She turned, dumped the milk out as she turned the water on to wash out the bowl. Pouring soap into the bowl, she washed it and the spoon, and once she was done, placed it in the draining rack.

She turned back to her son, and smiled.

"Are you going to see dad?" He asked, after a moment.

Caroline nodded. "I am." She answered, placing her forearms on the counter in front of him.

"Today's the trial." He replied, sadly.

She nodded, and saw his eyes hold so much sadness, she bit back her tears. "Do you remember what we told you a few months back?" She asked, watching him nod his head. "Then you should know that everything will work out." She replied, softly.

Joey nodded, and smiled. "Are you going to see him before the trial?" He asked, watching his mom smile brightly.

"Why do you think I'm up at 4:30 this morning?" She asked, quirking a brow.

Joey laughed, and nodded.

She chuckled, as she straightened and headed towards the door. "Katherine should be coming by in a few hours, so you can head back to bed until then." She replied, grabbing her black jacket from the hook, and slipped it on, before grabbing her purse.

Joey nodded, and looked down at his jogging pants and t-shirt. "I don't think I could go back to sleep." He whispered, shyly.

Caroline sighed, and knelt down in front of her son. Her skirt rode up slightly over her knee, and her high heels scrapped the floor, slightly. "I promise you, Joey, everything will be alright." She replied, wiping his face with the back of her hand.

He slowly nodded. "Be careful, mom." He whispered, wrapping his arms around her neck, and held on tight. "Tell dad, I love him." He added, pulling back.

She smiled and nodded, before she hugged him one last time. "I will. I'll see you this afternoon, sweetie. She whispered, kissing his cheek, before straightening up, and headed out the door.

Joey moved towards the window, and placed his little hands on the window sill as he watched his mom walk down the walkway towards her car. Closing his eyes, he sighed. "Please let us be a family again. Please." He whispered, in the silence to whoever was listening.

Caroline pulled up outside the courthouse, and sighed. She turned her head to see her friend watching her carefully. "You didn't have to come this early, Bonnie." She replied, tilting her head to the side.

Bonnie nodded. "I know, but if I had waited until Kol woke up, he would have refused to let me come. Even though no one knows my involvement, he thinks it's dangerous." She replied, shaking her head.

Caroline smiled, and nodded. She bent her head, and looked at her watch. Three hours until the trial. It didn't seem long enough. "Well, let's go." She replied, stepping out of the car.

Bonnie nodded, and followed her. They entered the back door of the courthouse, and headed towards the hallway, Caroline knew so well.

They smiled as they recognized the guard in front of the door.

"Morning, Matt." Caroline remarked, quietly.

Matt nodded, and moved away from the door. "The cameras have been turned off, as requested." He returned, nodding towards Bonnie. "I'll come back at 7:05. His lawyer is coming at 7:15, so that should give you enough time to talk." He replied, lifting his wrist to check the time.

Caroline nodded, and glanced at Bonnie, who leaned forward to give her a hug. "Tell him, we're rooting for him." She whispered, in Caroline's ear.

Caroline nodded, and moved towards the door, as the others walked away. Opening the door, she smiled as she entered the cell room.

"Hello, stranger." She called out as she closed the door behind her, and locked it.

Klaus stood up from the bed, and made his way do the bars. "Caroline, what are you doing here?" He asked, looking around them.

She smiled, and unlocked the cell to step inside only to be enveloped in his arms the moment she did so. "I couldn't let the next time I see you be in court." She whispered, holding him tightly in her arms.

Klaus groaned, and bowed his head to the crook of her neck. He lovingly kissed her neck, and lifted his head. "How's he holding up?" He asked, knowing she knew who he meant.

Caroline smiled, and opened her purse up with her left hand, and pulled out the photo he had given her. "He sent this so you will remember him." She remarked, watching Klaus' eyes cloud over. "He misses you, Klaus." She added, softly.

He sighed, and nodded. "I miss him too." He returned, holding the photo in his left hand. "And I miss you." He added, looking at her.

She smiled, and touched his face with her right hand. "There was a full moon last night." She whispered, watching him smile.

"I know, love, and that made me miss you even more." He whispered, pulling her closer, and slipping the photo in her purse.

She noticed his movements, but didn't say a word. Not until she heard her purse fall to the floor, followed by her outer jacket, and her business jacket. "Why, sir, whatever are you doing?" She asked, in a fake British tone.

He smirked, and lifted her in his arms, only to carry her to the small cot. "I'm going to fuck you, ma'am." He answered, in an American tone.

She giggled, as she pulled his head down to hers, and kissed him, as she felt her skirt being pushed up to her waist, and her underwear being removed, stealthy and quickly. He lifted his head, and smirked, as his fingers began to move over her folds, and pull on her small nub, causing her to arch, and bit her bottom lip.

She couldn't scream. She couldn't. Oh, but she wanted too.

He moved his fingers over her lower lips, and smiled as she arched her back, ruining her hair, since she had pulled it up that morning. He felt her sweet nectar run out, and cover his fingers, and he felt himself harden at it.

He looked down and noticed her yellow blouse had moved to the side to reveal the edge of her perfect breast. He swallowed. She hadn't put on a bra that morning.

She shook her head against the cot, and moved to unbutton her shirt. "I knew." She whispered, moving the shirt to the side, watching him groan in pleasure.

Bending down quickly, he devoured her breasts with precision, loving the sounds of her moans with each suck he made. His fingers began to massage her nub, and slowly pushed inside of her, causing her to arch and clench his shoulders.

"Oh, Gooodd!" She nearly screamed, the pleasure taking hold of her.

He smirked against her skin, and lifted his head, only to move down to the floor. Watching her pout when his fingers left her, he smiled devilishly when he moved her to a sitting position, and spread her legs out so he could view her completely.

Dipping his head, he licked her slowly, tortuously, hearing her mewling with each pass he made. He thrust his tongue forward and felt shivers run through him as she moaned in ecstasy. He licked and thrust until he tasted her come in front of him.

He lifted his head, and smiled in triumph at the look of satisfaction and desire on her face. Caroline shook her head, and pulled him up.

"You are not getting away that easy." She remarked, pulling him down on the cot, into a sitting position, and straddling him, while unzipping his jumpsuit and freeing him.

As the cool air hit him, he inhaled sharply, and then groaned, as she fingered him, and quickly sat down on him, causing them both to moan.

She threw her head back, as she began to ride him, feeling him fill her up in more ways than she never knew before. Klaus arched his hips up, and held onto hers, as if his entire life was focused on this one moment.

He had figured she would torture him as he had done her, but he realized as she moved her hips with his, that she knew he needed this. He needed her, loving him before the trial in less than two hours. He needed to know that she loved him, and she was going to be there.

He moaned, and arched back, only to grasp her head with his right hand, and pull her towards him. His lips contacted hers, and they both let out moans that no one would be able to hear in the hall.

Flipping her over onto her back, he pulled up, watching her smile in the mid throw of ecstasy, and pulled out slightly, causing her groan, only to slam into her with a loving force only he was capable of.

He would never hurt her. He couldn't.

All their times of loving, even the first time in the cell, hadn't been like this.

He pulled back, and thrust harder into her, until he filled her up entirely.

She moved her hands into his jumpsuit, and began to scratch his chest with each pound he made inside her.

"Say it, love." He whispered, as he thrust harder, and sweat beaded on his forehead and on hers. "Say it." He demanded in a low growl.

She moaned, and arched into him. "I love you! Oh, god! I love you!" She struggled to keep quiet as she said the words.

He smiled, and felt himself go over into the oblivion of ecstasy at the words. "I love you." He whispered, as he spilled into her.

At his words, Caroline became unglued, and felt like she fell from the highest mountain and soared in the sky.

She vaguely knew that he was kissing her face tenderly, from the passion she felt. She opened her eyes, and found him watching her with a loving look in his eyes. She inhaled deeply, and touched his face gently.

He panted lightly, and tilted his head to kiss her palm, tenderly. She smiled, and stroked his scruffy face.

"I don't want to leave you." She whispered, repeating the words from yesterday.

He smiled, and nodded. "You won't." He whispered, bowing his head to kiss her lovingly. "You will always be with me, my love." He added, pulling up, and placing her hand over his heart. "Always." He whispered, tenderly.

She smiled, and fought back the tears. "And you are always with me." She returned, gazing into his eyes.

He smiled, and bent down to kiss her once more before she would have to leave.

As they dressed, and rearranged themselves, Klaus studied her as she pulled her hair up into a twist, and placed a clip in it, to keep her hair from falling down.

"You are so beautiful." He whispered, walking towards her.

She blushed and dipped her head, only to lift it when he closed the distance between them. She placed her hands on his chest. "You are so handsome." She returned, kissing his lips before backing away. "I'll see you in court." She whispered, touching his face.

He nodded, and grasped her hand before she moved away. Pulling her towards him, he claimed her lips with his until they were both shaking with renewed desire. Separating, Caroline panted, and smiled. "I better go." She whispered, searching his eyes.

He nodded, and walked with her towards the cell door. "Don't worry, love. All will be well." He replied, watching her eyes widened slightly.

"You…" She began, watching him nod slightly. She glared at him, and crossed her arms. "You're horrible." She replied, firmly.

He smiled, and let out a small chuckle. "I'm grateful." He whispered, touching her face, causing her to sigh against the touch. "No one has ever done anything like this for me before, love." He added, softly.

She sighed, and leaned forward, as her eyes rolled lightly. "Well, get used to it, because as long as I'm alive, I'm not going to let anything happen to this family, especially to you." She stated, kissing his lips before moving away.

He chuckled, as she locked the cell door, and the door behind them opened.

"Caroline, his lawyer's here." Matt called, nodding when Caroline nodded at him.

"I'll be right out." She replied, turning back to Klaus. Lifting her left hand, she formed the words that meant so much to the both of them.

'I love you.'

Caroline walked out of the room, and smiled at Klaus' lawyer, who was dressed in a three piece grey suit with dark brown hair slicked back, and light blue eyes. "He's ready now." She replied, nodding towards the door.

The lawyer nodded, and looked at the door with deliberation.

"It's means a lot to him that you're defending him, Finn." Caroline whispered, approaching him.

Finn smiled, and nodded. "He's my little brother, Caroline. No matter what." He replied, straightening his back.

Caroline placed her hand on his arm, halting him from moving towards the door. "I sent the document to my superior last night." She replied, watching Finn smile and nod.

"Does Klaus know?" He asked, nodding to the door.

She shook her head. "Not about this, he doesn't, and I don't want him know. Not yet." She added, after a pause.

Finn nodded. "Then I won't tell him." He replied, firmly.

Caroline nodded. "Thank you." She whispered, dropping her hand to the side, and pushing the strap of her purse on her shoulder. "I better go to the courtroom." She added, walking away.

"Caroline."

She paused, and turned around, to see Finn smile as he opened the door.

"Good luck."

She smiled, devilishly and nodded, before walking onward.

This plan had to work, and it would, and it all was contingent on that document she had sent.

That very special document.

Please be kind!

I have had two reviews saying that they couldn't see Klaus forgiving Caroline so easily for being a Marshal and betraying his trust. I'm very sorry you feel that way, but I hope with the next chapter it will satisfy your feelings, and make a little sense to you.

Another review stated that this was not really a rated 'M' story, let me explain this, I put this story in the 'M' category because of the slight smut and the language. I'm a very cautious writer, and I don't believe that some of this shouldn't be rated 'T'. I'm sorry if you don't agree, but it is what it is. I hope you understand.

Anyway, I'm working on the next chapter now, so you won't have too long to wait for it! Since so many of you are so anxious! I am happy to say that most of it is already written, so... YAY!

Until Next Time...
