I swung my fist at the punching bag and sent it flying up into the air. It had been two weeks since I had returned human and I was trying to stay in stay in top physical condition. I swung my leg around, slamming it into the bag after it had stopped moving. I watched it swing back and forth, then I tipped myself back, falling down onto the mat. Alucard was gone on a mission tonight and that left me with no one to hang out with. Closed my eyes, I covered them with my arm. I was getting very bored, very fast.

"Are you alright?"

I blinked, looking up into the face of a young girl. She had short, jagged cut black hair and a scar running down the side of her face. Her eyes were dark brown and she had a concerned look on her face as she looked down at me. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just bored."

She smiled down at me. "Oh okay. I thought the punching bag had won for a second there."

I giggled as I took her outstretched hand. She helped me to my feet, giggling herself. "I'm Arianne, by the way."

I smiled shaking her hand. "Amber Steadman. It's nice to meet you, Arianne."

"Likewise, Amber. So what are you doing in here anyways?"

I smiled. "Waiting for Dracula to get back."

She gasped staring at me. "You mean tall, dark, and scary dressed in red?"

I nodded, smiling slightly. "The one and the same."

"You actually hang out with him?"

"Sure do. He is my best friend. He takes some getting used to though." Arianne looked at me in mock horror.

"I'm surprised he has let anyone get so close to him. His grin alone has scared the shit out of me countless times." Arianne giggled.

"Yeah, he is fairly annoying to me. I don't know how many times I have thrown something at him." I smiled at the raven haired girl. "Do you want to get something to eat? I'm starving." Arianne smiled brightly at me then nodded. "Alright. Let's go."

Arianne was giggling as she read one of my more humorous fan fictions. I smiled as I chewed on my salad. Arianne had told me how much she loved Adventure Time and Soul Eater so I let her read one of my bullshit stories. When she finished, she looked up at me still giggling. "You're really good at this. I never thought Marshall Lee could be so funny."

"He is an ass and does pranks all the time. Of course he is funny. Hardly anyone sees that side of him." I grinned over my coffee cup, watching her. She was flipping through my other folders when she paused looking over at me.

"A Hellsing fan fiction?"

I blushed, reaching over to take the tablet from her. "You don't need to read that."

"On the contrary, I think she should, and out loud too. I would love to know what you wrote about me, little human." I screamed falling off of my stool and into the floor.

"Damn it, Dracula! Don't scare me like that." I picked up a nearby book I had brought with me, throwing it as his head, which he proceeded to catch. I groaned, laying on the ground as I stared up at the ceiling. I squealed again as Arianne began to read out loud.

"She was standing out at the edge of a nearby alleyway, when a mysterious color caught her attention across the street. She watched in wonder as she caught the end of a red duster turn the corner of a nearby building." Arianne giggled as I stood on my feet, glaring at her, my entire face the same color of Alucard's hat.

"You can stop reading now!" I screamed, reaching for the tablet, which Arianne held out of my reach as she continued.

"She ran across the street, cutting into the alleyway in front of her. She felt compelled to follow the crimson clad man she had saw only moments before. Just as she was about to round the corner she slammed into something in front of her. Looking up, she stared into muddy red eyes. 'Sorry,' she mumbled stepping back. The person standing in front of her was a girl, about her age. The girl looked like she was peeling from a bad sunburn, which was odd seeing as her skin was gray. Jessica stared at girl for a moment, then screamed as the girl lunged forward, mouth open.

Jessica jumped back, slamming against the dumpster behind her. The girl fell to the ground where Jessica was standing moments before, and moaned as she tried to get back up. She reached back behind herself, grabbing the first thing her hands landed on, a two by four, and she brought it down on the girls head. Yelping, she pulled the wood from the girls head and saw a large gap in place of where the skull should have been. She was getting ready to swing at the girl again when she heard a deep dark voice come from the shadows. 'Invocation of Cromwell Confirmed. Levels 3, 2 and 1 released.'" Arianne stopped reading from the tablet as the red clad vampire walked up beside her.

"My little human. You seem to know me all too well." Alucard grinned as my blush ran down my neck. He ignored me as I flipped him the bird, turning back to Arianne. "May I please have that, girl?"

Arianne blinked then nodded handing it to him. He flipped it upright in his hand as he walked around the counter towards me. I glared at him ready to snatch it from his hands when he grinned at me, melting through the floor and out of sight. Groaning, I laid my head on the counter.

"Man! He is going to pick on me about that for years now!" Arianne giggled, patting my head.

"I'm sorry. I saw him come through the wall and I just felt compelled to pick on you a little bit."

I turned my face sideways, looking up at her. She was smiling at me and I couldn't help but smile back. I had a feeling I had just found a new friend.

I screamed, reaching out for something to grab hold of but anything my hands grasped at slid right through my fingers. I was drowning in a river of blood and bodies. I swallowed a mouthful of air as my head broke the surface then I was push back down by another torrent of crimson.

Gasping, I sat up in my bed, holding onto my neck as I breathed in deeply. The nightmare was always the same but I still woke up with a racing heart and gulping air. I pulled my knees to my chest then buried my face in them as I began to cry. I was tired of my nightmares. I just wanted a decent night's sleep. "I wish Alucard was here….." I mumbled to myself.

As soon as I said that I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, pulling me close. I jerked my head up and glowing crimson eyes stared down at me. "You called, my little human?"

I stared up at him, tears still rolling down my face then I wrapped my arms around his waist, holding onto him tightly. "I-I can't sleep. I'm afraid of my nightmares."

"Shush, little human, there is no need to cry anymore. I am here for you." He ran his fingers through my hair as I wiped my face off.

"I-I'm sorry. I'm sure you think I'm pathetic right now."

"Not at all. I was watching your dream in my own mind. I can perfectly understand your fear, my dear."

I looked up at him again quietly. "You can watch my dreams?"

He nodded slightly, watching me still. "It is the only time when your mental walls go down. I can hear or see nothing from your head when you are awake." I nodded back then yawned, rubbing my eyes. "You need more sleep, little human and I need mine."

"Will you stay with me, please?"

He looked down at me and smiled slightly. "Yes, I will stay here with you." I pulled away from him, watching as his clothes melted away to nothing but a pair of silky sleep pants. I blushed, staring at his form then smiled as I leaned in kissing his cheek.

"Thank you." He nodded as he laid down in my bed. I laid down beside him, resting my head on his shoulder as I yawned again. "Good night, Alucard."

He smirked, wrapping an arm around my shoulders, holding me gently. I fell back to sleep before I could hear him respond back. "Goodnight, my love."
