This chapter isn't as long as I hoped it would be, but I didn't want to overflow the information.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT TRULY MEANS ALOT!
Please remember to review at the end, but keep it kind! :)
"I'm sorry, Klaus." She began, biting back a sob. "I'm very sorry." She continued, pausing for only a moment. "I'm a United States Marshal, and I was sent to bring you in."
The only sound that could be heard in the room was two hearts breaking, together.
Caroline bit her bottom lip, as she waited for Klaus' reaction. Fear ate through her, and her eyes closed on impulse. She couldn't stand the pain she was seeing or the rage.
His hands clenched at his sides, and rage erupted through his body. No, it was more than rage. It was pain, for almost three months he had opened his heart to her, and made love to her. How dare she betray him?!
Turning back to his desk, he placed his hands on top for only a moment before reaching for the 9mm lying on top. Pulling the hammer back, he whirled around, and aimed it at her.
Her eyes opened and she swallowed down her fear. She knew what she had to do. Capturing his eyes with hers, she gathered what little courage she had left. "Go ahead. Pull the trigger." She replied, tears filling her eyes.
The pain in her heart tugged at her, but not from the fear of dying, it was from the pain of hurting him, lying to him.
Klaus focused the gun at her head, but moved it down to her heart, and marched over to her, the gun never wavering. He saw the pain in her eyes as held them with each step, and felt his heart break.
Caroline let the tears fall down her face, but she didn't care. "Go ahead, Klaus. Kill me." She whispered, brokenly.
Klaus swallowed, roughly. His eyes narrowed, and his jaw clenched in anger. He placed the gun on her chest, and she felt the gun shake slightly against her skin.
"Klaus…" She whispered, with a cracked voice.
Tears filled his eyes as he gazed into hers. He still felt anger and betrayal from her lying to him for these past few months, but no matter how hurt and angry he was, he couldn't pull the trigger.
Lowering the gun, his eyes turned colder than ever as they searched hers. "Get out." He stated, backing away, and walked towards his desk.
Caroline stepped towards him, wanting nothing more than to explain. "Klaus, I'm so…"
"Sorry!" Klaus finished for her, turning around, with the gun still in his hand. "How the hell can you be sorry?!" He asked his voice cold and unforgiving.
Caroline swallowed, and lifted her hands as she took a cautious step forward. "Let me explain…" She began once more, but froze when he lifted the gun to her again.
"Why should I listen to you, Caroline? Or is that even your name?" He asked, sneering.
She swallowed and nodded. "It is my name, my first name. My last name is…" She replied, closing her eyes as he moved the gun, and fired it just inches away from her body.
"I don't give a damn!" He shouted, moving the gun back to her. "For three months, you lied to me, and betrayed me. So give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you where you stand." He remarked, coldly.
"Because, of this." She whispered, lifted her hand to her left shoulder, watching him swallow roughly.
He scoffed, and turned around.
"And because I lo…" She began, flinching when he slammed his hands on the desk.
"I don't want to hear another word, Caroline." He stated, keeping his back to her. "I want you out of this house, and out of my life." He added, straightening once he got his emotions in check, and turned around. "If I ever see you again, I will not hesitate to kill you. I don't care how beautiful you are." He added, moving his eyes over her, making her feel like a piece of meat.
She closed her eyes, but didn't move an inch until he turned back around, leaving her feeling cold and unloved. Slowly she nodded, and turned around, and practically ran out the room, leaving Klaus alone in the office, crying, silently.

Elijah sighed as he moved out of the shadows, and glanced towards his sister, who was standing in shock. Both had rushed towards the office when they had heard the gun fire, and was thankful that Joey was out with Kol when it had happened.
"He's a fool." Elijah whispered, hearing the door to the office slam, and then heard books and glasses breaking.
Rebekah glared up to where Caroline had ran. "Why did she lie?" She asked, coldly.
Elijah sighed, and moved towards the office with Rebekah following him. "She had no choice."
"You knew?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest.
Elijah nodded. "But I refused to inform Niklaus, because of the affect she had on him." He replied, closing his eyes when a crash was heard in the office.
Rebekah rolled her eyes. "Some affect." She muttered, shaking her head.
"Since Caroline has been here, you've seen the changes she has elicited from Niklaus." He began, watching his sister soften.
Rebekah nodded. "What do you want me to do?" She asked, stepping back when something hard hit the door.
"Keep her from leaving. At least the town, until Niklaus cools down." He answered, with an authoritative tone.
Rebekah sighed. "I'll try, but I won't promise that I'll keep my temper in check." She remarked, stiffly.
"Take Bonnie with you." He added, before she reached the stairs. "And Katherine." He added, watching his sister stiffen, but didn't say a word.
Rebekah gave a curt nod, before walking up the stairs towards the front door. Her brother was right if they were going to keep her brother from becoming a bigger idiot, she was going to need reinforcements.

Caroline pulled out her suitcase, and dropped it on the bed. Tears fell down her eyes, and blurred her vision, as she began to throw everything of hers into them, not caring if anything got wrinkled or torn.
She had to leave. He had ordered her to leave.
Her hands fell on the bed, and her body hunched over. She had screwed this up. Not only had she blew her job, but she had broken her heart and more importantly, his.
She had fallen in love with the Hybrid, and now he wanted her dead. It was foolish, she knew to give into her feelings, but it had felt so right, and it still did. She let the tears fall down her face, and hit the mattress.
"God, what have I done?" She cried, feeling her knees collapse underneath her and land on the floor. "What have I done?"

Betrayal. Betrayed. She had betrayed him.
He growled as he threw one of his books against the door. The bullet hole on the wall next to the door, only served as an ugly reminder that he had almost killed her. Oh, but he had wanted to.
So what stopped him?
He swallowed down his anger, and fell to his knees in the middle of his office. He should have killed her. He should have.
His eyes closed as tears burned behind his lids. No, he couldn't.
He loved her. Despite the betrayal, he loved her.
For the first time in his life, he loved someone other than family, and what happened? She turned out to be a Marshal.
He picked up a book next to him, and threw it at the bookshelf, causing other books to fall to the floor in a loud massive thump.
The image of her pained expression flashed through his mind. Had she regretted playing him? The look on her face told him she did, but that didn't mean he would forgive her. He would let her go, and forget her.
Yes, that's what he would do. He would forget her.
But how could he forget the one woman who saw him for himself, instead of a killer? How could he forget the woman who owned his heart and soul?
He didn't know, and at the moment, he didn't care. He just wanted her out of his life.
For now.

Caroline had cried for what seemed like hours, and she barely heard the knock on the bedroom door. She staggered to her feet, and to the door, and opened it, not caring who was on the other side.
She gave a sad smile at the three women on the other side, and backed away. "Here to finish the job?" She asked, moving away from the door to sit on the bed that was once theirs.
Rebekah, who had felt anger when she had heard the truth, watched with a breaking heart. "My brother's an idiot." She replied, entering the room.
Bonnie closed the door behind her, and smiled faintly.
Caroline scooted back to the iron headboard, and shook her head. "No, I am." She whispered, turning her head away from their looks. "I thought if he knew…" She trailed off with a shrug of her shoulders. "I don't know. Maybe he would forgive me." She added with a light scoff.
Rebekah rolled her eyes as she sat down in front of Caroline. "My brother is a stubborn man, who always thinks betrayal is around the corner, and once he's confronted with it, he chickens out, like it's brand new to him." She stated, watching the tears fall down Caroline's face.
Katherine nodded, and sat on the other side of the bed, and leaned on her right hand. "It's not your fault, Caroline." She whispered, softly.
Caroline nodded. "Yes, it is." She cried, letting the tears fall. "The moment I found out my feelings for him, I should have packed up and left." She cried, throwing her head to her knees.
The girls shook their heads.
"No, you shouldn't have." Bonnie stated, sitting beside Caroline, placing her hand on the blonde's back.
"Yes, I should have. If I had I wouldn't have hurt him." Caroline whispered, brokenly, her body shaking with the force of her cries.
Katherine shook her head. "Damn it, Caroline!" She stated, causing the girls to look at her, and Caroline to lift her head. "Stop beating yourself up over this." She ordered, firmly. "So you're a Marshal, so what?" She added, shrugging her shoulders. "I didn't care when I found out." She added, shaking her head.
Caroline smiled faintly. "That's because you knew my name, Kat."
Katherine shrugged. "And it still doesn't matter. At least you told him, and he didn't find out some other way." She stated, strongly.
Rebekah nodded. "She's right, and in a few days, Nik will know that." She stated, trying to comfort the blonde.
Caroline sighed. "I can't wait that long." She whispered, lowering her eyes. "My boss is threatening to pull me out if I don't give him any leads to the Hybrid organization." She stated, sadly.
Rebekah glanced at Bonnie, and sighed. "Well, then let's give him something to sink his teeth into." She replied, darkly. "Let's give him Marcel." She added, smirking.
Bonnie smiled, and nodded. "That'll work." She agreed, turning to Caroline. "What do you say?" She asked, hoping Caroline would agree.
Caroline ran the idea over her mind, and slowly nodded. "That'll work. I mean, it's not the Hybrid, but it'll keep in New Orleans a little longer." She replied, softly.
Rebekah nodded, and smiled. "Then it's settled, we'll give your boss the second biggest crime lord in this town." She replied, with a dark smirk.
Caroline smiled, and nodded. "But that doesn't change the fact that I'm no longer welcome here." She whispered, her smile fading and her eyes filled with tears.
Bonnie smiled, and rubbed her hand over the girl's back. "You can stay with me, until Klaus mulls it over." She replied, tenderly.
Caroline looked at her and was about to protest, when Bonnie shook her head. "I won't take no for an answer." She replied, smiling.
Caroline deflated, but sent her a small smile, and a soft nod. "Okay."
Bonnie nodded, and smiled, but it only lasted a few moments. "Just out of curiosity, what is your real name?" She asked, feeling Caroline stiffen, and watched her face become pale.
Caroline glanced at Katherine, who sent her a reassuring smile, before she answered. "It's Forbes. Caroline Forbes."
Rebekah and Bonnie's eyes widened as the name rang large bells in their minds. "As in William Forbes' daughter." Rebekah whispered, watching Caroline nod, slowly.
"The cruelest, dirtiest man to ever walk this earth is your father?" Bonnie asked, watching Caroline nod once more.
"He was, although I wouldn't call him much of a father." Caroline whispered, bowing her head.
"Does Nik know?" Rebekah asked, watching Caroline carefully.
"No, I tried to tell him a few moments ago, but he wouldn't listen." She whispered, lifting her head. "I thought if he knew my real name, he would understand, but…" She faded off, closing her eyes.
Rebekah nodded, and narrowed her eyes. She glanced at Katherine, and tilted her head to the door. Katherine nodded, and smirked. A plan forming in her minds.
Bonnie sighed, and moved to stand up. "Come on, we'll get your stuff together, so you can come home with me." She replied, tenderly.
Caroline lifted her head, her eyes widened. "What about Joey?" She asked, shaking her head. "I can't leave him." She replied, looking at Rebekah.
"I'll tell him that you went to stay with a sick friend, but that you'll be back, Caroline." Rebekah replied, soothingly. "I won't tell him the truth." She added, shaking her head.
Caroline smiled at her, and nodded. "Thank you." She whispered, moving to stand up.
She had to hurry up and pack, and get out of here.
Her heart had been broken enough in one day.

Klaus finally emerged from his office, and marched up the stairs a few hours after ordering Caroline to leave. His eyes were bloodshot from crying and the booze he had drank.
He stopped in his tracks when he made it to the front walkway, which led to the front door, and scowled deeply.
"I thought you had done left by now." He remarked, coldly.
Caroline stiffed her back as she slipped on her jacket, and motioned to the girls that she would be fine, though they wouldn't move. "I'm just now leaving." She replied, turning to look at him.
That one look almost did him in. For in her eyes, he saw the pain he had caused, and an emotion, he wished he had seen before.
He scoffed, and shook his head, before heading off down the hallway towards his art room, and slammed the door behind him.
Caroline inhaled deeply, and tried to hold back the tears before turning to the comfort of Katherine's arms.
"Let's get you out of here." Katherine whispered, as they walked out the door just before the sound of a crash echoed through the house.
~XXX~
He watched from the shadows as four women climbed into a large SUV, and drove away. He didn't miss the way Klaus' blonde looked back at the house with a longing look on her face.
He smirked to himself, and picked up the phone, and hit speed dial.
"It's me. It appears that he threw her out." He remarked, snidely. "Yes, sir, I'll let you know when they stop." He paused, and listened very carefully to his instructions. "Yes, sir, I'll have her before tomorrow night." He smiled, and listened once more. "I'll let you know when I do." He climbed into his car and started the ignition. "Yes, sir, I'll let you know." He added, hanging up.
His boss wanted the blonde vixen who was always at Klaus' side, and so that was exactly who he was going to get, and if she resisted, well, his boss didn't tell him not to harm her.
I hope you enjoyed it!
I'll try to have the next chapter up later today, but I'm not making promises. :)
Until Next Time...
