Sorry for the wait, but had an exam this week, and that kind of stalled my writing for a while, but anyway...

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT MEANS ALOT!

Please remember to review at the end! :)

Klaus drew his gun out, and aimed it at the man in front of him. "Do you think I'm a fool, Marco?" He asked, with a sneer.

Marco, a man with a body like a trainer with black hair, brown eyes, and tan skin, shook his head. "No, Mr. Mikaelson, I don't." He replied with a hint of a Spanish accent in his voice.

Klaus lowered his gun, and looked around them. Few people knew the location of his downtown office, and one of them happened to be the man standing in front of him, shaking slightly, though trying to hide it. "What else did you find out?" He asked, turning on his heel, and headed towards the shabby desk behind them.

Marco swallowed, and closed his eyes until he heard Klaus turn around to eye him. "Marcel's men have not moved, and they know nothing about a blonde woman taken from the restaurant." He replied, flinching slightly when Klaus slammed his fists on the desk. "My men are still searching the city, sir. We will find her." He added, confidently.

Klaus whirled around, and anger flashed in his eyes. "You better, or else the Mississippi will have one more body to add to the flow." He remarked, coldly.

Marco nodded, and slowly turned around towards the door. "Sir, for what it's worth, we all want her returned." He stated, leaving Klaus in the office alone.

Klaus closed his eyes, and moved towards the window. Until three days ago, Klaus had never thought he would hate his temper. If he had not thrown her out, and shunned her, she would not be missing. She would be right there with him, helping him…

He clenched his fists, and folded his left arm around his chest, as his right propped up on the arm, and his hand rested underneath his chin. No, she would not help him. She was, is a Marshal. She had her job to do.

He closed his eyes tighter, and shook his head. "A damn Marshal." He whispered, dropping his arms to his side. He placed his hands on the sill of the window, and bowed his head. "And a Forbes." He added, lifting his head to gaze out into the dark city.

He thought back to their conversation about her father, and slammed his hand on the wood. She said she killed her father, but…

Klaus frowned, as the pieces began to fit in place. "Oh, God, no…" He whispered, turning from the window, and headed toward the desk where his cell phone rested on top. Picking it up, he hit the number one, and held it to his ear.

"Elijah, I think I know who has her." He stated, darkly, his anger bubbling underneath the surface. "I'm coming home." He added, walking out of the office.

Caroline groaned as she tried to move her hands. She slowly opened her eyes, to find herself in a small room, where she deuced was located in a warehouse, or near one, since she heard the engines of the boats on the water just outside.

She lifted her head, and bit her bottom lip as she noticed the chains around her wrists, cutting into her skin, but not too deep. She frowned, and groaned, as she tried to move her hands, but they only moved a small fraction. If she didn't get out of the chains soon, she was going to lose the circulation in her hands.

This was not good.

Katherine frowned as she lifted her phone to her ear, and answered the call.

"We need you at the house, Katerina."

Katherine rolled her eyes, and shook her head. "Klaus banished me from the house, because of the little debacle, Elijah. He threatened my life, and frankly, I like my life." She stated, strongly.

"He requested your presence, Katerina." Elijah remarked, roughly. "It concerns Caroline."

Katherine froze in mid-step, and closed her eyes. "Have you…has she…is she?" She trailed off, swallowing hard.

"She's still missing, but Niklaus believes he knows who has her, and wishes for your assistance." He replied, calmly.

Katherine sighed, and bowed her head. "I'll be there." She replied, trying to hide her emotion as she hung up the phone.

She dropped her arm to the side, and lifted her head as the breeze blew in her face. She cleared her throat, and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I should have protected you, Caroline." She whispered, moving away from the pier. "I should have."

Joey sniffed as he fingered the photo in his hands. Tears fell on the photo, and he quickly wiped them away, not wanting to ruin the picture. He couldn't bear the thought of something happening to his mom, so instead of being inside where his family was, he had come to the back yard, where fond memories had assaulted him like a wave.

"Joey…"

He lifted his head, and sniffed once more. "Have you found her?" He asked, afraid to hope.

Klaus slowly shook his head, and approached the frightened little boy. "I haven't yet, but I'm going to." He replied, nodding his head.

Joey nodded and bowed his head. "Why would she leave us? She said she loved us, and that she would never leave." He cried, although he knew the answer, but something inside him wanted to hear it from Klaus' lips.

Klaus closed his eyes, and turned his head. "I told her to leave." He whispered, finally, knowing he had to get it out into the open.

Joey stood up, and held the photo up to Klaus. "How could you throw her out into the street?" He asked, tears falling down his face, freely.

Klaus swallowed, and faced his son. "It was my anger that told her, Joey." He tried to reason, realizing that he had never had to explain his reasons to anyone before, except to Caroline.

Joey sniffed, and wiped his nose with his left hand. "You destroyed our family, dad, and hurt mom and me." He replied, crying out. "You promised you would never hurt me, but you lied." He continued, shoving the photo into Klaus' hands, and moved away from his dad.

Klaus closed his eyes, and turned around. "Joey…" He called out, but it was too late. His son was gone.

He looked down at the photo in his hands, and his heart broke inside. For the image bared the one thing he feared losing, his heart…Caroline.

Caroline tugged at the chains, and bit back a yelp when the chains pulled upwards, and lifted her off the ground.

She threw her head back, and gasped as the door opened.

"Now, now, Miss Forbes, we can't have you trying to escape, not until he gets here."

She lifted her head, and frowned at the man who had kidnapped her. "Who?" She asked, though the smile on the man's face told her it wasn't good.

"You'll just have to wait and see, but I will say this…" He began, approaching her, and yanked her by her hair, causing her to wince as the pull, wrenched her wrists in the chains. "You shouldn't have angered him." He added, before letting her go, and leaving her in the room, swinging slightly.

She groaned, and closed her eyes. Behind her closed eyes, she saw the one man; she somehow knew would find her, or at least she hoped he would.

Klaus sat down on the small concrete bench on the edge of the yard, and gazed down at the photo. "I was a fool, Caroline." He whispered, shaking his head. "I should have let you explain, instead of letting my anger get the better of me." He added, rubbing his thumb over the image of her smiling face with Joey and himself beside her.

Rebekah had taken that picture, just two weeks ago, and it was still the freshest memory in his mind.

He sighed, and closed his eyes. "Where are you, love?" He asked the silence.

"Niklaus"

Klaus opened his eyes, and focused on his brother, who gazed at him with a sorrowful look on his face. "I'm a fool, Elijah." He whispered, looking back at the photo.

Elijah frowned, and moved to sit next to his brother on a small white iron chair. "No, you're not, Niklaus."

Klaus scoffed, and shook his head. "I pushed her away." He stated, his eyes never moving from the image. "The first woman I let into my heart, and I push her away." He replied, coldly.

Elijah sighed. "She's a Marshal, Niklaus. You have every right to be angry." He replied, formerly.

Klaus sighed, and leaned forward, placing his forearms on his knees. "I promised I would never hurt her or Joey, and I went back on my promise." He paused, looking at the photo. "When I find her, she may never speak to me again. She'll probably turn me in." He replied, standing up.

Elijah smirked. "You forgive her?" He asked, watching Klaus freeze, and bow his head.

"I shouldn't, but…" Klaus began, turning his head away from his approaching brother to hide the tears falling down his face.

"You love her." Elijah concluded, with a faint smile.

"Will she forgive me?" Klaus whispered, not admitting his feelings.

Elijah smiled, and clasped his brother on the shoulder. "She will, Niklaus. She will, and we will find her." He added, watching his brother shut off his emotions with a single blink of his eyes.

"Gather the family." Klaus stated, firmly, moving away from his brother, and towards the house.

Elijah sighed, and turned his head to the bench. He closed his eyes as he remembered coming to get Klaus before, during a much happier time.

Elijah smiled, and shook his head, hating that he was interrupting this scene. "Niklaus"

Klaus froze as his lips moved slightly away from Caroline's, placed his lips back on hers, trying to ignore his brother.

Elijah shook his head, and stepped closer. "Niklaus, we have a problem." He started again, biting back a smile as he heard Klaus groan and Caroline giggle.

"You better listen to your brother, Klaus." Caroline whispered, pulling back from Klaus.

Klaus groaned, and turned his head to his brother. "What kind of problem?" He asked, firmly.

Elijah caught Caroline's eyes for a moment, and saw her gaze at his brother with so much emotion that made him wonder if he should leave, and handle the situation himself, leaving his brother with a woman who loved him.

"Marcel." He stated, simply.

Klaus frowned, and bowed his head, as he stood up, bringing Caroline with him. "I have to go, love." He replied, touching her face lightly.

Caroline smiled, and leaned into his hand, and nodded. "I'll be here when you come back." She remarked, leaning forward to kiss his lips, before moving towards the house.

"She's a special lady, Niklaus." Elijah replied, watching a smile form on his brother's face.

"More special than you know, Elijah." Klaus remarked, before wiping the smile off his face, and became serious. "Now, what is this about Marcel?"

~F~

Elijah sighed, and turned to face the house. They had to get Caroline back, and soon. Even Klaus' men were searching the area around the city, because they knew that a certain blonde had tempered his brother, and they respected her for her ability to face Klaus without fear. They wanted her back as much as Elijah did, but not as much as Klaus did.

Caroline struggled against the force of the chain, and tears streamed down her cheeks. "I should have left." She whispered, in her grief.

"Now, I wouldn't say that, my dear."

Caroline froze, and her eyes widened in fear. "No, it…it…can't be." She whispered, trying to turn her head, but found it difficult.

"If you had left, then we would never have met…again."

She swallowed, but bit down her fear. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her fear.

Not this time…

Klaus entered the office, and moved towards his desk, while the family gathered around, all looking distraught and serious.

Rebekah straightened in her seat, and leaned forward. "What is it, Nik?" She asked, watching her brother lean against the desk.

"I have discovered who has Caroline, and it has just been confirmed." He replied, slamming his phone on the desk.

"Who is it?" Bonnie asked, feeling Kol's hand on her shoulder, as she was sitting next to Rebekah, and Kol was standing behind her.

Klaus closed his eyes, and slowly opened them once more. "Her father, William Forbes."

DUN...DUN...DUN...

I love cliffhangers! And I hope you do as well! :)

I plan on getting the next chapter up later today or this weekend, hopefully.

All will be explained, well at least part of it will be, in the next chapter.

Until Next Time...
