I wanted this chapter to be longer, but it didn't work out because too much information would shadow the rest, in my opinion.

Anyway, hope you enjoy! SOME ANSWERS AND CLARIFICATION BELOW!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT TRULY MEANS ALOT!

Please remember to review at the end! :)

Caroline felt a hand run through her hair, and she knew before she opened her eyes who it was. All at once, everything from the night before came crashing down on her, but this time, she didn't feel remorse, or at least the same boulder as before.

Slowly she opened her eyes, and shifted her head to find him staring straight ahead, deep in thought. "Klaus?" She whispered, swallowing as she found her voice was groggy from the tears she shed before she had went to sleep.

Klaus snapped out of his trance, and moved his eyes downward to catch hers. "Morning, Caroline." He whispered, and she could hear his remorse. "Are you alright?" He asked, concern leaking in his words.

She sighed, and moved to sit up, but didn't move away from him. "I'm still feeling the residual effects of what happened, but other than that…" She paused, lifting her eyes to his. "Thank you for staying with me." She replied, a sad smile crossing her face.

Klaus gave a half nod, and lifted his left hand to stroke her face with the back of his fingers. "Always." He whispered, dropping his hand. "I need to go." He replied, turning his head.

Caroline bowed her head. "Please, don't." She whispered so low, he wouldn't have heard if he had moved away.

He turned his head to look at her, and felt his heart twinge in his chest as he saw her defeated look. "Caroline…" He began, watching her lift her head to look at him. "I truly am sorry for the pain I've caused…" He started, only to have her shake her head, and place her left hand on his face over his lips.

"You did what was instinctual for you, Klaus. I don't blame you." She replied, searching his eyes, tears filling hers. "It's my fault just as it is yours, even more so mine." She added, dropping her hand to his resting on his left leg.

"I'll make him pay for what he put you through, Caroline." Klaus vowed, causing her to tilt her head slightly.

"Klaus…" She began, but he shook his head, and grasped the hand that she had placed on his.

"No, Caroline, he hurt you, and he killed our child. I'm not going to take that lying down." He stated, roughly.

She inhaled, and realized he was speaking the truth. She hurt just as much as he did, and a part of her was glad he didn't blame her for the loss. "I didn't even know I was pregnant." She whispered, lowering her head. "I didn't even feel any symptoms except nausea, but I thought that it was because I missed you and had hurt you." She added, feeling his eyes on her. She lifted her head, and searched his eyes. "When Dr. Meredith came into the room, to examine me, she said that it sounded like I had been pregnant." She continued, holding his eyes.

"She told me that sometimes women don't realize it until something like this happens." She paused, tears falling down her eyes. "She ran a test, and told me I had been, but it was too late." She whispered, feeling his fingers run over her face, wiping the tears away from her face.

He sighed, and his heart broke as she continued to cry. "Did she say what caused the miscarriage?" He asked, finally, his words catching in his throat.

Caroline slowly nodded, and sniffed, as she jerked her head up, looking away from him. "She said that it was because of the trauma I suffered, and the punches that Bill and his henchman delivered." She answered, tears falling down her face.

He closed his eyes, and lowered his head. "Why did the doctor tell you that you couldn't have children?" He asked, anger leaking into his words.

She bowed her head, and sniffed, lifting her left hand to her nose. "Bill bribed him." She answered, simply. "The doctor that saw me was in his pocket." She added, dropping her hand to her lap.

"Why didn't you get a second opinion?" He asked, softly, not wanting to scare her or blame herself again.

Caroline sighed. "We couldn't afford a second opinion, and after I got older, I didn't trust doctors to go back." She replied, shrugging her shoulders.

Klaus closed his eyes. "So if I hadn't taken you to Meredith, you would never have known that you were pregnant." He replied, opening his eyes.

Caroline nodded, and cried. "When she told me that I was pregnant, I was so happy, and then she told me that I had experienced a miscarriage." She paused, looking into his eyes. "I wanted so much for you to be in there, and she asked, but I couldn't face you, not then." She whispered, holding his eyes.

He lifted his right hand, and touched her face, gently. "I would have been there for you." He whispered, softly.

She smiled, and reached up to hold his right hand. "I know, despite everything that happened you would have." She replied, searching his eyes.

He smiled, faintly, and wanted so bad to lean forward and kiss her lips, to show her that he cared, but he held back. "So does this mean, you can have children?" He asked, watching a small light appear in her eyes.

"Dr. Meredith told me that I had to wait two weeks before we tried again." She replied, bowing her head.

"We?" He asked, smiling, feeling hope enter his chest.

She lifted her head, and smiled faintly. "Despite everything that has happened," She began, moving closer, feeling the small pain in her abdomen from the event the day before. "I want a family with you." She added, in a low tone.

He stroked her face, softly, and searched his eyes. "Even if I am the Hybrid." He replied, wanting to hear the truth.

She smiled. "Well, I can look past that if you can look past me being a Marshall." She replied, watching him smile.

"Oh, I think I can do that, as long as you don't betray me." He replied, watching her shake her head.

"I would never do that, Klaus." She returned, with a serious gaze in her eyes. "I love you." She added, saying them for the first time to his face.

He smiled, feeling his heart strengthen at the statement, and leaned forward, slightly. "I love you too." He whispered, watching her face light up at the declaration, before he closed the distance between them, and placed his lips on hers.

Sealing their newly discovered love, and promise that they would have the happiness they both deserved, after Klaus took care of the man who cost them so much: William Forbes.

Bonnie jumped slightly as the door opened to the bedroom, and relaxed when she saw him enter the room, and closed the door behind him.

Kol sighed, and slowly approached her. "You are still jumping." He stated, lifting his right hand to stroke her face.

She sighed, and leaned into his touch. "I'm sorry." She whispered, lowering her eyes.

Kol frowned, and tucked his hand underneath her chin to lift up her face to his. "Hey," He began, searching her eyes. "There is nothing to be sorry for." He replied, shaking his head. "You were attacked in your own home. You have a right to be jumpy and cautious." He replied, watching her relax, slightly.

She nodded, and grasped his hand with hers. "Grams thinks I should stay here with you until everything is taken care of." She replied, firmly.

Kol smiled, and nodded. "I agree." He replied, watching her open her mouth to protest. Shaking his head, he leaned forward and quickly kissed her lips to stop any protest from coming out. "Don't worry, Bonnie, Nik has moved Sheila to a secure safe house, and no, I'm not going to tell you where." He replied, when she opened her mouth to ask.

She deflated, but a smile of understanding crossed her face. "Thank you." She whispered, watching him closely.

He shrugged, and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Well, I do expect something for this kindness I'm showing you." He replied, watching her laugh.

"Oh, really, and here I thought you were just doing it because you love me." She replied, tilting her head to the side with a smile on her face.

He leaned forward, and nodded. "That too." He replied, in earnest.

She smiled, and brushed her lips over his. She jumped, and fear hit her when something broke in the kitchen. Kol grasped her upper arms, and saw the fear fill her eyes.

"Lass, it was just a glass." He whispered, trying to calm her down.

She placed her hands on his chest, and her nails dug into his chest through the cloth of his shirt. "Are you sure?" She asked, her eyes becoming wide.

He nodded, and touched her face softly. "I'm sure. Stefan and Rebekah finally made it out of his room, and I imagine they are still consummating their love." He replied, with a twinkle in his eyes.

Bonnie smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. Kol sighed, and stroked her face, gently. "I promise you, nothing is ever going to happen to you, as long as I'm here." He vowed, feeling her right hand snake upwards towards his face.

"I know." She whispered, sending him a wan smile.

He returned the smile, and slightly brushed his lips over hers before pulling her into his arms, and placed his lips on her head. Closing his eyes, he made a vow to himself, and a prayer, that nothing would ever happen to his green eyed lass.

Hours later, Caroline was sitting in the library where Klaus had left her a few moments ago to tend to some business. She sighed, and fingered the books on the shelf, and felt tears burn her eyes when she ran across the book, Peter Pan.

"Caroline"

She straightened, and slowly turned to find her friend standing in the doorway. "Kat." She returned, softly.

Katherine tilted her head, and practically ran to her friend with her arms opened wide. "Klaus called me." She replied, taking her friend in her arms.

"Oh, God." Caroline cried, falling into her friend's arms.

Katherine held her friend as she cried on her shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Care." She whispered, brokenly.

Caroline nodded, and slowly pulled back. "What hurts the most is that I didn't even know." She replied, moving towards the sofa in the center of the room.

Katherine followed her, and sat down beside her. "It would have hurt worse if you had." She replied, placing her hands on top of Caroline's.

Caroline sighed, and bowed her head. "How would you know?" She asked, brokenly.

Katherine sighed, and moved her eyes to the side. "Because I had a child." She answered, after a moment.

Caroline jerked her head to the side to gaze at her friend, and read the hurt in the gaze. "You never told me that." She replied, watching her friend's eyes fill with tears.

Katherine nodded, and lifted her right hand to wipe away her tears. "It was five years ago." She replied, looking at her friend. "I…" She paused, as she cleared her throat of emotion. "I found out before I…left." She replied, bowing her head.

"Elijah's." Caroline deduced, studying her friend.

Katherine nodded, and smiled. "I was going to tell him, but somehow Klaus found out about the baby. I guess it was from the doctor who is friends with the family." She replied, sadly. "He told me that I could tell Elijah, but it would be a bad idea."

"Why?" Caroline asked, shaking her head.

Katherine inhaled deeply, and looked down at her hands. "He said that the less people knew about the child, the better." She answered, fiddling with her hands. "I agreed with him, so he gave me some money, and I left." She replied, lifting her eyes to Caroline's. "I had my son in my native Bulgaria, but after I had him, something happened." She added, pausing with a sad expression appeared on her face.

"Katherine?" Caroline asked, with worry.

"He was taken from me." Katherine whispered, in a distant tone. "I was told that he was dead, but…he's not." She added, softly.

Caroline nodded, and grasped her friend's hand in hers. "Who took him?" She asked, after a moment.

Katherine sighed, and closed her eyes. "An enemy of the family who somehow, found out about the child, and wanted to attack." She replied, shrugging her shoulders, only explaining half of it.

Caroline knew there was something that Katherine was not telling her, but she knew that she couldn't pressure her too much. "Are you alright?" She asked, instead.

Katherine smiled as she squeezed Caroline's hands. "I will be." She answered, looking into Caroline's eyes with determination. "When I get my son back."

"I don't give a damn what you think!" Klaus shouted into the phone. "You are not paid to think! You are paid to watch and report!" He added, glaring out the window of his office. "You find out everything you can about Forbes' whereabouts or the next thing you will see will be the bottom of the Mississippi!" He shouted, cutting the call off, and glared out the window.

"You sure know how to sweet talk a person."

He sighed, and slowly turned around to find her standing in the doorway, eyes red from crying. "I thought you were visiting with Katherine." He replied, moving towards his desk.

Caroline shrugged her shoulders, and moved further into the office. "I was, but she had to leave when she got a call." She replied, moving towards the desk. "She told me about her son." She added, watching Klaus pause as he moved to sit down.

Instead of sitting, he placed his hands on the desk in front of him, and lifted his eyes to hers. "She knows." He replied, shaking his head.

Caroline moved towards the desk, and placed her hands on the desk as well. "She knows he was taken, but she didn't tell me who." She replied, studying the man in front of her.

Klaus sighed, and straightened. "I see." He replied, placing his phone on the desk. "And you came in here, because…"

"I want the truth." She stated, staring at him. "I think you owe it to me to tell me everything." She replied, firmly.

Klaus smirked, and tilted his head to the side. "Do I, love?" He asked, watching her squint slightly.

"Yeah, you do." She replied, straightening and folded her arms over her chest.

Klaus sighed, and moved around the desk, and approached her carefully. "Are you sure that you want the truth, Caroline?" He asked, searching her eyes.

She slowly nodded, and dropped her arms to her side. "I'm tired of the lies, Klaus." She began, placing her right hand over her stomach. "They've already cost so much." She added, watching Klaus' eyes move to her stomach.

He swallowed a few times before lifting his eyes to hers. "Alright, love. If that's what you want." He replied, holding out his right hand, waiting for her to take it.

Caroline nodded, and placed her hand in his. "It is." She replied, searching his eyes.

He sighed, and led her towards the small leather couch next to the bookshelf, after closing the door to the office. "This is going to take a while." He replied, when she looked at him with questions in her eyes.

Caroline nodded, and sat down next to him, waiting.

He inhaled deeply, and held her hand in his as he finally lifted his eyes to hers. "It began thirty years ago with my father and…yours." He replied, watching her brow furrow in confusion.

"Mine…" She replied, shaking her head.

Klaus slowly nodded. "Yes, your father and my father knew each other, and that's where our troubles began." He replied, softly.

Caroline swallowed, her eyes glued to his face. This was not what she was expecting.

Not at all.

Please be kind!

I know I confused a few of you last chapter, so I hope this chapter clarified it some!

To reiterate, Caroline's father bribed the doctor to tell her that she couldn't have children, the real reason will be explained later, so she lived her life believing she couldn't. Yes, she can still have children, she just has to wait until her body heals from the miscarriage. Yes, she found out she had been pregnant via a test the doctor did after she was brought in, and the residual affect of the miscarriage was present at the time of the examination. I hope that clears up most of the confusion. I apologize for not being clear before!

If you have not guessed, next chapter will have a reveal of the Mikaelson and Forbes past!

Also, I hope I did not go overboard with their declarations, even though they have already said them. I will say this, they still have a ways to go, so don't expect them to say it all the time.

Until Next Time...
