Will is still weak in his arms and Sonny feels himself near fainting. He's traveled far to get here, right into Will's heart. Which belongs to him, whatever doubts Will can still be pondering about. They kneel down, squeezing each other so much, they may stop breathing, but it doesn't matter. Sonny feels swallowed against Will's body, regaining his equilibrium and his happiness all at once. Their kisses are first feverish and almost hard, then turn into longer, quieter ones. Will lies on the damp grass, surrendering till he's yielding fully. Sonny shivers when he touches the ground and lifts Will up.

They don't reach the house on the first go and have to rest on the bench, the one where Will was sitting earlier. Sonny has forgotten his own tears and is surprised when Will wipes them off his face, hurt showing in his eyes. Sonny shakes his head "Will, stop! I beg you, for me, for us, stop feeling guilty. I need you to be better. Thanks to me. I almost lost you and I don't want to go through that pain, ever again. I love you so much." Will brushes his cheek. In his ravaged eyes, Sonny sees the exhaustion. He feels his own, overwhelming him and scrunches his chin against Will's shoulder.

"My love, is there a bedroom we can go to rest? I want to hold you in my arms and fall asleep together. We'll have plenty time to celebrate our reunion. Let me take care of you." Will represses a sob and nods. He leads him inside. Marlena watches them pass, silent. Sonny sends her a smile and she smiles back. Will opens the bedroom's door. There's a big bed that looks comfortable. They lie, still clothed, eyes locked, placing their hands in mirror, on the other one's fast-beating heart.

Will is facing him, at the end of the field. He comes closer, but the earth is loose under his feet. It wraps up Will's legs and he starts to sink in, slowly, in the quicksands. Sonny wants to scream but his throat is so dry and he feels slowed down by an invisible force field. He manages in extremis to grab the last thing he can spot, Will's desperate hand. He pulls him, strong as he can and sees Will surface, all different. He's wearing a dark suit and a rose on the front pocket. The sand has vanished and they start dancing to a tune so beautiful, Sonny never wants it to end. His eyelids flutter, bringing him back to reality, where, miracle, there is Will, in his crinkled sweats, and with the only music of his breathing and light snoring. He's never been happier.

He's hungry but he doesn't dare move. It would wake Will up and he doesn't like the dark circles he's wearing under his eyes. Sonny wants to blow on them and make them disappear. His body is warmed up at places, by the soft weight of his man. He closes his eyes, ready to dream again, but Will is startled awake and the two lovers find themselves looking into each other's eyes. With absolute synchronicity, their faces split into identical grins. This time, it's Will who's kissing him, with the reverence and delicacy characterizing him.

"Will?" "Yes?" "I'm so good in your arms, but I'm starving, I ate almost nothing till dawn." Will frowns "That's true, you must have left early. How did you know where to find me?" "It's T. He's very loyal. He wants you back in Salem so he's paid for my plane ticket." "Seriously?" He's chuckling but sounds a little tensed and Sonny knows how to answer. No way Will could be led into thinking Sonny needed to be pushed into coming to see him " I was so grateful to get an update on you and to be able and talk to you. It was so tough." Will looks away, tears in his eyes. Although those are pure blue again, so Sonny sees this as a sign of recovery. He kisses his man's bare neck and states again "I'm starving. I'll eat you if I have to, unless you help me." Will trembles, shaken by a quiet laugh and gets up, freeing Sonny, who feels naked without his kitten wrapped around him.

Marlena has already fixed something. Sonny hugs her and whispers "It's all good. We're all good, now." She replies "Thank you, for Will. He can't make it without you.", then, refusing their help, she takes them outside to eat, on the wooden garden table, under the warm sun that has finally pierced the clouds; They chat quietly, avoiding sore subjects and Sonny discerns some tension in Will's voice. Not everything is settled, he's aware of that. Some harm has been done. They've been shown how much they need each other but Sonny will still have to learn to trust Will again. Not that he fears he might cheat, as it clearly didn't happen, but he might leave him, reject him.

Marlena has to drive hom the next day and offers them a lift. Sonny agrees, glad that they can stay in that sheltered place for a while longer. As the shadows grow, he feels the desire to merge into Will, to erase the separation and replace it by complete fusion. He takes Will to the bedroom and start working on taking off his clothes...
