It is a year after Melanie's death. Rhett is still wallowing in self-pity, but Scarlett has moved on. She has built a better life for herself and her children. She has decided that she can't live the rest of her life legally bound to Rhett. She has filed for divorce.

Despite the implications of the final line, very few sequels to Gone With the Wind involve Scarlett returning to Tara. So what would have happened if Scarlett moved home for good?

Through a series of cascading events, our dynamically dysfunctional couple ends up stranded in a remote upstate New York cabin. With the kids. Takes place approximately two months before Ashley's infamous birthday. Let's shake this snow globe up.

Scarlett wakes up expecting another dreary day under siege in Atlanta but instead finds herself in Charleston in the year 1847, where an ill-famed Captain Butler was not yet so ill-famed, nor a Captain. As she begins to question their seemingly intertwined fates, she realizes she feels something she once dared never to say.

Scarlett, Melly, the boys, and Prissy are all killed in between Rough and Ready and Tara. For the first time in his life Rhett must face the consequences of his actions. Eventually Scarlett, Rhett, Melly, and Ashley get a redo. AU OOC

What if Ashley couldn't tolerate his hypocrisy any longer, and, in an impassioned speech, told Scarlett he didn't love her? What would happen if Scarlett knew sooner? Would Scarlett see Ashley, and by extension, society, for what it is?
