Will looks a little down at dinner that night. In fact, since they've left Common Ground, his face is getting more and more sad. Sonny is desperately reviewing their afternoon. He finally finds something that could have triggered it. "You know, kitten, we were kidding around." Will is startled and gives him a questioning look "Who?" "Chad and I. I was teasing him about getting married. I mean, he's still young, and he has all the time in the world and..." Will sighs and takes Sonny's hand, smiling faintly. "I got the message, my love. I didn't pay it much attention to tell the truth." Sonny should be relieved but is only slightly disappointed and still worried. Will stared for a while, then gives in "Actually, I'm bothered by something else and by the look on your face, I don't hide it very well." Sonny gives him a peck and pulls him to the sofa. He wraps Will with a protective arm and waits for him to open up.

Will first take advantage of the position to relax and wedge his skull against Sonny's chest, then he whispers "Not a good start..." "Sorry?" "Our life as a couple... I mean, it's a big step and all and bam, after a few days, I ruined everything." "Will..." Sonny knows what he sounds like right now. Like his father talking to a client, firm and definitive. "It was an aggression. You weren't at fault. You need to be convinced of that!" Will's raised eyebrows show that he may have gone too far. And there's still sadness in those eyes.

"You think we should move?" It's Sonny's turn to be startled. He hadn't considered it, even when bad memories were haunting his nights. "I don't think so. He left, that's for sure and we have friends here. I really love that place and we chose it together. Let's not get our life messed up by an asshole." Will laughs softly. Sonny thinks for a moment and adds "We could get a change of scenery, though." "What do you mean?" "We could go on a vacation?"

The change in Will's countenance is almost comical. He's all excited and kisses Sonny with passion, spurting out ideas a mile a minute. Sonny feels like a hero. "You'll take care of it? I'm busy with the coffee-house a lot and if we want to leave, I'll need to stay late a lot before." Will is pensive before he asks "How long could the vacations be? A few days." Sonny's tense muscles give him his answer "At least. Why not a whole week? I'll promise Chad I owe him." He doesn't add that he's sure Chad will be okay with it, after all he's the one who owes him for holding the fort when he was on the run. And there's T, who's great at his job. All of this is making Sonny very optimistic and he kisses Will hard to take his focus off their projects and brings him to the bedroom.

In general, he likes it better when Will penetrates him, but tonight, he's the one in charge and soon he's buried in Will's soft and welcoming heat, striking with more force than he's ever done. Will isn't complaining. Sonny would mark Will with a branding iron if he could, to show the world he is his. Of course that's the point of wedding bands, but Sonny feels Will is far from ready to even hear about getting engaged. So he whispers "I love you" and fucks him into the mattress.

He does lose himself in work for the next few days, waiting for a good time to tell Chad about his projects. T is chatting a lot during breaks, casually asking him about his past travels, which place he liked the best, that kind of things. Sonny suspects he's acting as a spy for Will and laughs at the subterfuge. It seems Will wants to surprise him with the destination, but wants to make sure he'll like it, so he plays the part innocent-like.

One night, he's greeted by a Will grinning from ear to ear. He must have found it. Sonny waits, trusting, but Will pulls out all the stops. And must have forgotten his goal, Sonny thinks, panting, thrown against the pillow. Maybe he was wrong and Will was just horny... Then, Will gives him an envelope that Sonny opens slowly. Inside are two tickets to Athens.

Sonny doesn't recall telling T about Greece, as he's never been there. In fact he had planned to while he was doing his world tour, but then the Icelandic volcano had pinned European planes to the ground and he had to change his destination. He's dreamt of discovering the place his ancestors came from, visit the islands filled with white-washed houses and cats. He's got family somewhere. Maybe he'll meet them. In any case, the promise of sunny beaches where he'll lie next to Will is making him grin like an idiot. Will sighs "You're okay with it then? I've hesitated a lot but you had mentioned it once and..." Sonny doesn't remember and is touched that Will pays him so much attention. He purrs against his boyfriend's arm and replies "It's perfect, kitten. And just so you know, anywhere else with you would be good too." "Same for me... Unless you want to go the Himalayas, I think I'd stay in the valleys. And by the way, how about we stick to the Greek coasts?" "Oh, really? Damn, here I was planning to bring all my climbing equipment..." Will pouts and Sonny laughs out loud, as he can't keep a straight face when he looks like that.

He falls asleep, picturing a blue, blue sea and Will in a swimsuit, his hands in his.
