Sorry for the small wait, but this week was a little trying for me. Not to mention I sort of failed a lab practical, and that got me down, but I won't dwell on that.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT TRULY MEANS ALOT TO ME!

Please remember to review!

Two Months and One Week before the Present.

Rain beat down in the city of New Orleans, and onto the window of a small house, just on the outskirts of the city. Caroline watched as the rain slide down the window from her and Klaus' bedroom, and bit her bottom lip.

It just seemed so fast, so unreal, but here she was. Married, a mother, and in love with one of the most dangerous criminals in the world.

She heard him enter the room, and she let out a long sigh. "Joey's asleep?" She asked, softly.

Klaus hummed, and moved towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Just drifted off." He whispered, kissing her temple.

"Tomorrow is the day." She whispered, leaning back into his embrace.

Klaus swallowed, hearing the pain in her voice, doing him in. "Yes," He whispered, calmly, though inside was turmoil.

Caroline closed her eyes. "Everything set?" She asked, though she already knew the answer.

"I contacted the girls, and they agreed to meet here tomorrow before we leave to get Joey settled at the safe house." He replied, kissing her blonde head.

She licked her lips, and placed her hands on his still circling her waist. "Still think this is a good idea?" She asked, worriedly.

"No, but there is no other choice." He replied, listening to the rain hit the window. "I won't endanger this family anymore." He replied, vehemently.

"This is still endangering us, Niklaus." She stated, strongly, stepping away from him, slowly turning around to look at him. "What if they won't take the deal?" she asked, her eyes filling with sadness. "What then?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders. "Wait for ten to thirty or whatever before we can be together." She added, watching him, closely. "What about Joey? Do you know what this will do to him? To me?" She added, softly, tears stinging her eyes.

Klaus shook his head, and approached her, gently grasping her upper arms, and gazed into her eyes. "I have thought about every scenario, Caroline, and this is the best thing for all of us." He replied, searching her eyes.

"What about our unborn child?" She asked, tearfully. "What am I going to tell him, when the time comes?" She added, bowing her head.

Klaus felt his heart pound in his chest. "Are you?" He asked, carefully.

Caroline shook her head, and sniffed. "No, but what if we find out with you in prison?" She asked, shaking her head, lifting her it to look into his eyes.

He sighed, and raised his right hand to brush her face, softly. "If everything goes according to plan, it won't come to that, love." He replied, fairly certain that it won't.

Caroline read his determination that this would work, and instead of asking another question for her doubts, she believed him. After everything they had been through together, she believed in him more than anyone she had ever met in her life. "I'm scared." She whispered, letting the tears fall down her cheeks.

Klaus sighed, and wiped the tears away. "So am I, Caroline." He whispered, truthfully.

She nodded, and stroked his chest with her hands. "Tomorrow night they'll pick you up." She whispered, softly with sadness in her tone, remembering the call she made that morning.

He sighed, and grasped her hands with his left hand. "It'll be alright, love." He whispered, holding her eyes with his.

She nodded, but her eyes were full sadness. "I know. I trust you." She replied, softly. "More than I have ever trusted anybody in my life." She added, shaking her head. "I love you with every ounce my being, Niklaus." She whispered, tears filling her eyes once more. "If anything were to happen to you, I don't know what I would do." She continued, shaking her head once again.

Klaus caressed her face with his right hand, and searched her eyes. "I feel the same way, Caroline." He replied, softly. "Which is why I would do whatever it takes to protect you and Joey." He added, firmly. "You are my life, Caroline, always remember that." He whispered, stroking her chin with the pad of his thumb.

"And you are mine." She whispered, softly, leaning into his hand.

He smiled, and leaned forward to place his forehead on hers. They stood in their bedroom for a few moments, both just taking in the feeling of being together and in love. Klaus sighed, as his hand moved around her face, threading through her blonde hair.

Caroline shivered, slightly against him, wishing that tomorrow would never come, and she wouldn't have to do what was asked of her.

She wouldn't lose him, but that is not what was going to happen. She was going to lose him no matter how much she didn't want to.

Sliding her hands down, she reached for the bottom of his shirt, and slowly pulled it up. Klaus knew what she was doing, so instead of using words, he placed his lips on hers for a soft, inviting kiss, before pulling back, to raise his arms, as she pulled his shirt all the way off.

Caroline dropped the shirt on the floor, and slowly rubbed her hands over his upper body. Tomorrow was uncertain; Caroline decided, so tonight she was going to be certain about two things.

She loved her husband, and she was going to show that love, if it was going to take all night.

Klaus watched her face, full of love; admire his body with eyes that seemed to memorize every texture and curve. He stroked her face, and moved his hand down, to the buttons of her shirt, and slowly unbuttoned each one, until her shirt opened, giving him a full view of her black lace bra. He pushed her shirt off her shoulders, until it floated to the floor; he stroked her bare skin, softly with his fingers.

He felt her shiver underneath his touch, and he smiled. He traced her tattoo, and reveled in the feeling that she was his. "You're going to cover this?" He asked, softly, lifting his eyes to hers.

She smiled, and slowly shook her head. "Why should I?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders. "It's a mark of the man I love." She replied, stroking his tattoo on his shoulder. "Besides, it's no one's business." She added, smiling.

He smiled, and pushed her blonde hair behind her back, softly trailing his fingers down her back, to the clasp of her bra.

She leaned forward, and dropped her arms to her sides when he unsnapped her bra, and let it fall to the floor with her shirt.

He searched her eyes as he traced the scars on her back, circling around her body, to trace her now exposed breasts.

She shivered, and lifted her arms around his neck, allowing him to cup her breasts in his hands. Their eyes held as he continued to massage her breasts, making her shiver, and moan under her breath.

He tugged her nipples, and felt her arch in his hands. He wasn't hurting her, or at least not the bad hurt, and that gave him another rush that she was his, for he was the only one who could make her respond like this. He pulled her close to him, and aligned their chests as her breasts pressed into his chest, and they both shivered at the contact.

"So sweet." He whispered, into her hair.

"Yes," She whispered, breathlessly in return. "Oh, yes, it is." She added, nuzzling his neck.

He trailed his hands down to her hips, and began to unfasten her skirt in the back, letting it fall down to the floor at her feet. His fingers played with the elastic of her lace underwear, and slowly pushed them down until they fell of their own accord to the floor.

Caroline had long since removed her heels from her meeting with her contact this morning, and smiled against his neck, as she felt his fingers stroke her bare skin.

She pulled back, and trailed her fingers down until they read the top of his jeans, and she slowly, but with mild speed, unfasten them, and pushed them down to his feet. She lifted her eyes to his, and held them as she pushed his boxers off his hips, slowly, until they too hit the floor.

She traced his bare hips with her fingers, all the while holding his eyes, smiling when the look of innocence in his eyes, turned to desire.

She stepped towards him, and lifted her hand to his shoulders, although never leaving contact with his skin. She aligned their bodies, and held him, not making a move to further the moment, just held him.

Klaus sighed, softly, and wrapped his arms around her, holding her just as loose, but secure as she held him.

Her lips brushed over his bare shoulder, after a moment, and slowly made her way up his neck, softly sucking, and nibbled his ear, causing him to moan, and pant. She smiled, as her lips moved over towards his lips, and caught his lips, gently with her teeth, until he opened his mouth, and she lined hers with his, in a soft, searing kiss.

Klaus clutched her to him as their lips moved over each other in a powerful kiss, which was shaking each other to their core. He nibbled her bottom lip, and slowly pulled back, reading the desire in her eyes. He caught her lips once more, slowly bending to place his hands on her thighs, lifting her in his arms, as her legs wrapped around his hips.

She tilted her head to the side, letting her blonde hair fly to the left, and gazed down into his eyes, brushing her right hand over his face.

He lowered her, gently on his hips, and smiled as they made contact, but he didn't penetrate. Her feet dug into his bare buttocks, and he felt his blood boil. He carried her towards their bed, but she shook her head.

She motioned to the wall, and he read the devilish gleam in her eyes. He smirked, and pushed her against the wall. He kissed her lips, and sighed as her hands rubbed over his face, shoulders, everywhere she could touch.

His right hand secured her to his person, and his left moved down her right leg, and slowly traced its way up to her hip.

She lifted her face, and smiled down into his eyes as she lifted, ever so slightly, and moved her left hand down to him. She watched as his jaw clenched when her fingers touched him, and she relished the look. Stroking his face with her right hand, she guided him towards her entrance.

She stopped when he shook his head, and she placed her left hand on his shoulder. He smiled, and kissed her lips, with soft tenderness, as his hips thrusted forward.

She broke from his lips, and let out a mild moan, and smiled, as her head hit the wall behind her. He clenched her hips with his right hand, and pulled out slightly, before slamming back inside her with tenderness. "Oh, God." She moaned, clutching his shoulders with each thrust he made. She rocked her hips with each thrust, and bit her bottom lip.

He moaned, and lifted his left hand to her face, and brushed her hair from her face. "My Earendial." He whispered, stroking her face.

She smiled, and panted, rolling her hips. "My love." She whispered, before letting out a loud groan. "Oh, Niklaus," She cried, wanting to make this last as long as possible.

Klaus rocked inside her, slamming her into the wall, wishing he could have something to hold on too, but there was nothing, except her, and she was holding onto him. He didn't want it to end, this pleasure that only came from her.

Caroline knew what he wanted, for she wanted it too. With a smile on her face, she touched his face. "Take me to the bed." She whispered, as Klaus stilled, and quickly rushed them to the bed, never letting go of her.

He sat down on the bed, still inside his wife, and moaned when she started bouncing up and down on him. He threw his head back, and let out a groan.

"Shh, you'll wake Joey." Caroline whispered, though desire filled her words, as she kissed him.

"I don't care." He muttered, grasping her in his hands, and flipped them on the bed, kissing her lips as he pushed roughly inside her.

She arched underneath him, and clung to his shoulders, as her legs remained wrapped around his waist. "More," She whispered, feeling her heart pound hard in her chest.

Klaus smiled, and slammed into her, harder, but still showed his love, by continuing to be tender with her. In all of his actions, he showed her how much he loved her, and cherished her. He would never hurt her, not again.

She knew what he was saying with his body, and she tried to show her love, knowing that hers was being said in a different way.

His left hand stroked her leg, and came down towards her thighs, and traveled inside, while he continued to rock her.

She cried out as he touched her, and she stars flash in her eyes as she shuddered with pleasure. Klaus continued to rock her, and smiled as he continued to touch her.

"Come for me, Caroline." He whispered, huskily, causing her to cry out once again, something that was seemed impossible, coming for just the sound of his voice in her ear.

"You're ruining me, Niklaus." She whispered, holding him close.

He chuckled, as he continued to push inside her. "That's the idea, love." He whispered, causing her to laugh.

"Oh, you devil," She replied, pushing him over, and straddled him. "I'll show who's ruined." She whispered, bending over to kiss his lips.

He smiled against her lips, and stroked her hips with his hands. She smiled, and ran her nails over his chest, and rolled her hips over his. She lifted her hips off his, hating that he had to leave her body, but she was proving a point, and this was the only way to do it.

Klaus groaned, and let out a low growl, hating being separated from her. "Caroline," He muttered, watching her laugh.

"I told you." She whispered, lowering her hips, stroking him.

He smirked, and rolled them over, pushing inside her, in one swift motion. "Alright, love, you win." He muttered, thrusting inside her. "We're both ruined." He whispered smiling as her legs lifted around his waist, taking him deeper inside her.

"Damn straight." She muttered, smiling, and then let out a groan.

Klaus smiled, but the smile didn't last long as he felt the blood rushing through him, harder and faster than ever.

"I love you." She whispered, feeling him jerk inside her.

Klaus felt his world turn, and his vision blacked out, as his body surged with a powerful orgasm.

Caroline sighed as she felt him come inside her, and smiled with a loud cry of ecstasy escaping her lips.. "I love you." She repeated after coming down from her third pleasure high, stroking his bare back.

"Oh, Caroline," He whispered, pulling up to gaze down into her eyes. "I love you." He remarked, smiling.

She smiled, and stroked his scruffy face with her right hand. "It might be tonight." She whispered, after a moment.

Klaus read her eyes, and smiled. "It might." He whispered, knowing she was talking about creating life.

She giggled, and kissed his lips with more love and passion that surpassed what they just shared.

Katherine smiled as she stood in the living room watching the man she loved play with the son she had just discovered.

"Daddy, it doesn't go that way." Khristo gleeful stated, patting Elijah's hand at the puzzle.

Elijah chuckled, and shook his head. "Are you sure? It looks like it would fit." He stated, looking at his son.

Khristo laughed, and stood up, rushing towards his dad in one swoop. Elijah laughed as he fell back onto the floor of the living room. He grabbed his son close to him, and began tickling him.

Khristo laughed, and squirmed in his father's embrace. "Daddy!" He screamed, happily.

Katherine felt tears burn her eyes as she gazed upon the sight. For too long had she wanted to get her son, and have the family she had longed dreamed of. She smiled at her family, and leaned against the doorframe.

"Alright, young man, it's time for bed." She replied, glancing at the clock.

Khristo sat up, but stayed in his father's arms. "Awe, mommy, can I stay up a little longer?" He asked, pouting.

Katherine wanted so much to give in, but she shook her head. "I'm sorry, my little love, but you need to go to bed." She replied, glancing at Elijah who stood up, taking his son with him.

"Your mother is right, Khristo." Elijah replied, firmly.

Khristo deflated, but didn't lose the light in his eyes. "Okay." He replied, softly.

Katherine shook her head, and approached her family. "Come on, little love." She replied, reaching for her son.

Khristo hugged his father, and kissed Elijah's cheek. "I love you, daddy." He replied, softly in a childlike voice.

Elijah smiled, and hugged his son close to him. "I love you too, Khristo." He whispered, kissing his son's temple.

Katherine felt her heart warm at the sight, and took her son in her arms, and carried him off to bed. She placed him in the bed after watching him brush his teeth, and change into his pajamas, before putting him in the bed.

She stroked his hair, as Khristo's eyes slowly drifted closed. "I'm so glad I found you, little love." She whispered, kissing his forehead, gently.

"I'm glad too, mommy." Khristo whispered, sleepily.

She smiled, and kissed his temple, lightly. "Get some sleep, little love." She whispered, sending thanks to the man upstairs for helping her find her son once again.

She returned to the living room, and smiled at Elijah, who was finishing cleaning up the living room. "He's asleep." She replied, helping put the puzzle on the table.

Elijah nodded, and smiled. "That's good." He replied, turning his head to look at her. "Are you okay?" He asked, sensing the anxiety in the room.

She sighed, and sat down on the leather chair. She didn't say a word, she didn't have to.

Elijah sighed, and sat on the table across from her. "It's Caroline, isn't it?" He asked, reaching forward to touch her hands.

She nodded, and sighed. "She's not sure that Klaus' plan is going to work." She replied, shaking her head, lifting her eyes to his. "She's got another plan in the works." She added, shaking her head.

"What plan?" Elijah asked, narrowing his eyes.

Katherine smiled. "I can't say." She answered, with a devilish look in her eyes.

She promised she wasn't going to tell, and she always keeps her word.

The sound of sheets rustling beside her caused her to turn her head from her book, and smile. "Just got off the phone?" She replied, lowering her book.

Kol nodded, and leaned forward to kiss his wife's lips. "Yeah, Finn was giving me pointers." He replied, kissing her lips once more.

Bonnie smiled, and nodded. "He's your brother. It's his prerogative." She replied, shrugging her shoulders.

"Yeah, and sometimes he takes it a bit too far." Kol complained, shaking his head.

"Just be grateful that he is helping." Bonnie stated, marking her place in the book, and then closing it to put it away.

Kol grunted, and sighed, leaning back against the headboard. "Yeah, I should." He replied, shaking his head.

Bonnie smiled at her husband, and scooted close to him to look into his eyes. "You really need to think about asking for help at times, Kol." She stated, placing her left hand on his chest.

He sighed, and closed his eyes. "I know." He stated, firmly.

Bonnie narrowed her eyes, and searched his face. "What's wrong?" She asked, causing him to open his eyes to look at her.

"Nik called Finn." He answered, after a moment. "He's going ahead with the plan." He added, firmly.

"I know." Bonnie replied, lowering her eyes.

"Caroline told you." He concluded, watching her nod her head. "There's something else you're not saying." He added, turning his body to look at her, reading the look in her eyes, as if she had a secret behind them.

She sat up, and shrugged her shoulders. "I do, but I can't say." She said, softly.

"Why not?" He asked, with mild anger.

"Because I promised I wouldn't say anything." She answered, finally.

"Who made you promised?" He asked, though he suspected the answer.

"Caroline." She answered, moving to lie down.

"Bonnie…" Kol dragged out, wanting to know more.

Bonnie shook her head, and smiled up at him. "I promised, Kol, but trust me when I say that this plan will work, much better than your brother's." She stated, nodding her head.

Kol smiled when he saw the devilish look in her eyes. "Have I told you how amazing you are?" He asked, bending down to kiss her lips.

"No, but I already know that." She replied, returning his kiss. "I'm still not telling you the plan." She replied with a giggle when he groaned, and laid flat on his back beside her.

She laughed, and rolled over to lie on top of him. "I love it when you pout." She whispered, kissing his cheek.

He rolled his eyes, and lifted his right hand to stroke her face. "You know this is going to change things, don't you?" He asked, searching her eyes.

She sighed, and nodded. "I know."

"Finn said that I can take most of my classes online, but…" He paused, lowering his eyes.

"But if we end up going underground, they could track you." She concluded, nodding her head.

He sighed, and nodded. "We could move away from the family, but," He stopped when she shook her head.

"We can't leave yet. They need us." She finished.

He closed his eyes. "Damn Nik for pulling this stunt." He stated, shaking his head.

"It's not Klaus' fault, Kol, and you know that." She reasoned, touching his face, causing him to open his eyes.

"I know." He remarked, sighing.

"Who are you really angry at?" She asked, in a low tone, searching his eyes.

He clenched his jaw, and sighed, averting his eyes.

"You're angry at yourself for not acting sooner." She deduced, reading his mind.

He closed his eyes, and whirled his head around to glare at her. "Stop reading my mind, Bonnie." He stated, angrily.

She sighed, and bowed her head. "I can't help it, Kol, and you know that." She replied, lifting her head to look at him.

He sighed, hating that he snapped at her. "I know, lass." He replied, touching her face, gently with his right hand. Leaning forward, he kissed her lips, and pulled her into his embrace, as they settled into the bed. "How I wish tomorrow never comes." He muttered as the light went out in the bedroom.

"So do I." Bonnie whispered, snuggling closer to her husband. "So do I."

~Morning~

Caroline sighed as she pulled her hair up in a ponytail, and bowed her head, her hands gripping the counter before her.

"Everything will work out, love."

She lifted her head, and looked at Klaus in the mirror, and nodded. "I hope so." She replied, lifting her left hand to her face. With tears in her eyes, she slipped off the wedding set, and placed them on the gold neck chain with her mother's locket.

Klaus stopped her, and placed his wedding band on the chain with hers, and slipped the chain around her neck, fastening it at the base, letting his fingers caress her skin.

She sighed, and fingered the necklace, before looking at her left hand. "How I'm going to miss looking down and seeing them." She whispered, with a sad smile.

He sighed, and nodded. "Me too." He returned, grasping her left hand, and kissing her fingers.

She turned around, and leaned against the counter as she gazed into his eyes. In his eyes, she saw the pain of what was to come, and she wanted so much to stop that pain, and just run away from her father, Enzo, her job, everything just to rid her family of the pain that was to come.

She moved her eyes down to his left hand, and noticed a mark on his ring finger. Moving her right hand, she lifted his hand to get a closer look, and tears filled her eyes as she noticed the eternity symbol on his finger.

"I may not be able to wear the ring that symbolizes my commitment to you, Caroline, but I can have something that is close." Klaus said, lowly, as her eyes lifted to his.

"Will you put it on me?" She asked, softly, tears starting to fall down her face.

He smiled, and wiped the tears away with his right hand. "Sure," He whispered, grasping her face and kissing her with all the love he felt pouring out of his soul.

She shivered, and placed her forehead on his for a brief moment before he led her out of the bathroom, and towards the place where the tattoo gun was resting. She smiled, and sat down in the chair, and held out her left hand, waiting to receive the final mark he could give her, signifying their love for all eternity.

Klaus held his son in his arms on last time, and kissed his head. "I'll be back, Joey." He whispered, with emotion.

Joey lifted his eyes, and stared at his dad. "Promise?" He asked, with a childlike voice.

Klaus nodded, and tears filled his eyes. "I promise." He vowed, brushing his right hand over his son's face. "Now, you listen to your Aunts, and especially your mother." He stated, firmly.

Joey nodded his head, and hugged his dad one last time. "I love you, dad." He replied, tears threatening to fall.

Klaus sniffed, and hugged his son. "I love you, too, Joey." He whispered, kissing his son's head once more, before letting him go with Katherine, Bonnie, and Rebekah.

Rebekah stopped, and moved towards her brother. "I should kill you for doing this." She replied, hugging Klaus.

Klaus laughed, but it wasn't full of happiness. "I love you too, Rebekah." He replied, kissing his sister's cheek.

Rebekah smiled, and kissed his cheek in return. "Be careful, Nik." She replied, stepping back, glancing at Caroline. "Take care of him, Caroline." She added, though she knew she would.

Caroline nodded, and glanced at her son, who she had already said goodbye to, and sighed as he climbed in the car, and finally drove away.

"This is it." Klaus muttered, as Caroline faced him. "I'm going to hate yelling at you, love." He replied, touching her face, gently.

She smiled, and sniffed, trying to keep the tears at bay. "So am I." She replied, leaning into his hand.

"I love you, Caroline." He whispered, kissing her lips one more time.

"I love you, Niklaus." She whispered, returning his kiss.

The sun was about to go down, when cars screeched outside the house, and Klaus squeezed Caroline's hand once more before separating from her.

The door crashed open, and Klaus lifted his head, as he made his way to the foyer. "There better be a damned good reason for you to destroy my door, and barge into my home." He stated, his voice cold.

"Niklaus Mikaelson, you are under arrest." A deep voice stated, approaching Klaus.

Klaus' eyes widened, and he lifted his head higher. "For what purpose?" He asked, folding his arms over his chest.

"For selling illegal weapons, murder, and other crimes constituted as illegal in the United States of America." The man answered, stepping up to Klaus, and jerked Klaus' hands behind him, and began to cuff him.

"What proof could you possibly have?!" Klaus shouted, jerking in the man's grasp.

Caroline inhaled deeply, and stepped into the foyer. Her eyes transformed into a cold, calculating woman, the Marshal had come out. "Me." She stated, firmly, though when her eyes connected with Klaus, he still saw her for a brief moment.

"You bitch!" Klaus shouted, trying to move towards her. "This is what I get for allowing you into my home! Treating you like family!" He continued to shout, though Caroline ignored him.

"Get him out of here." Caroline stated, coldly, as the man began to read Klaus his rights as he dragged him away.

As Klaus left the house, Caroline sighed, and lifted her right hand to her chest, fingering the rings around her neck. "I'll see you soon." She whispered, following them out, cringing when she heard Klaus yell her way. "And I'll bring a bar of soap." She added under her breath, shaking her head, as she climbed into the car behind Klaus.

"Good work, Marshal Forbes." The man stated, shaking her hand.

Caroline nodded, and returned the shake. "Thank you." She stated, though inside her heart was breaking.

God, please let this work.

Only TWO more chapters to go, and then on to the sequel!

I hope you enjoyed the way it went down. More to come in the next chapter!

Since my little bout of depression this week, I got a little behind on my writing, but I hope to get back at it, today. Oh, for those who have asked if I was going to write professionally, I probably shouldn't say, but I've begun a novel, which I'm excited to write. It probably won't be published, so again I probably shouldn't say, but...

Anywho: Next chapter: Klaus is transferred into a maximum security holding cell, and receives three visitors. Caroline meets with Damon, and calls a good friend. Joey meets his cousin, Khristo. Enzo plans an attack.

Until Next Time...
