Victoria allowed Delbert a week to think up an excuse for lying to her, or atleast thats how the Candid was taking it. She didn't say anything at the birth of the children nor the day after she'd practically lived with the two. Today the doctor was once again avoiding her as she sipped tea in the sitting room with Amelia laughing sophisticatedly at her sister's witty comments and random activity one of the babies did. From his figuring perhaps amelia would keep her occupied enough to where she would eventually go on home to her own family. But, as his luck would have it, he was wrong. He'd just sat down in front of a map starting to write down celestial finds when he heard his door quietly shut.
"Very good show Doctor." Delbert felt his heart sink when he heard the accusation in her voice and turned to face her, "Now Victoria before you start-" "Before I start? Start what Doctor? Getting upset that you out rate lied to me or the fact you haven't told my little sister about your previous wife and her death and how it came to be." Delbert's heart was now in his left leg working its way into his toes. "Y-you're n-not h-here to t-talk about S-Silver?" Victoria's posture went even more stiff than before and looked at him with sharp blue eyes. "No. I wish to know about your first wife." Delbert looked at her for a long time wringing his hands together in a nervous frit and opening his mouth till the door opened and in stepped Amelia. "What's going on here?"
"Ah, amelia darling I believe there is something Delbert needs to speak with you about, why don't you stay in here and I'll attend to the children, hm?" With that the elder felinoid left the room. Amelia blinked a few times looking after her then averted her gaze from there to look at Delbert. "Del what does she mean?" Delbert sighed deeply cursing out victoria's eternal soul and patted his lap as an offered seat, of which she accepted. He pulled her close to him and started gently, "You're beautiful Amelia." And you're Handsome." She purred, "You're my amazing wife." "Delbert what was Victoria talking about?" He stopped then sighed knowing she knew something was wrong or not exactly right, "She wished for me to tell you...about my first wife." He felt her body stiffen up a bit then look up at him confused like. "Your...first wife?" He gulped down air and nodded nervously, "Yes, her name was Clara we were only married about two years in all and had one son." Amelia was quiet for a while then said in a soft tone, "What happen?"
Delbert sighed and looked off into space, "Clara was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Chordomas while expecting our son twins Atlas and Crystal, we lost his sister early on in the pregnancy, by the time of his birth she'd gone complete paralyzed. He was born blind and at first mute, eventually he gained a voice. When he was roughly three months old...I...We...lost Clara she had fought long and hard but the pregnancy atop it all and having to be careful with what treatment we used for the babies sake... she couldn't take it. I was well set to raise our son on my own till I perhaps one day found a mother for him." He stopped only a moment to look down at Amelia to see what expression she had, it was rather unreadable, predictable, so he continued. "bt when he was three months old...my in-laws found me incapable to raise their only grandson and had my rights completely stripped from him...it's been thirteen years since I've seen my son, they sent me photos for a while and allowed me to see him till he got old enough to start remembering me...And that's it...that's what I've been keeping from you..I'm so sorry Amelia it was just hard to talk about and I-" He was stopped by her slender finger finding it's way to his lips, he looked down at her, her face was soft and concerned. "It's alright Delbert. I understand." He let out a long breath of relief and bent down and kissed her, "I do wish you had told me but, I do understand." "You're a wonderful woman Amelia but...losing Clara...I just knew I was going to lose you and the babies too and it made me realize I can't just let you go." Amelia smiled and hugged him close to her, "You aren't losing me or the babies Delbert, we're staying right here, and I believe I could speak with victoria and see if we could get your boy back." Delbert looked at her and nearly burst into a grin and kissed her, "I'd like that very much."
