Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or the song Take a Chance on me.
A/N: I do not have a Beta and I'm too lazy to read over my work, so sorry in advance for what I'm sure will be numerous grammar mistakes and probably some missing words.
If you change your mind, I'm the first in line
Honey I'm still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down
If you're all alone when the pretty birds have flown
Honey I'm still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best and it ain't no lie
If you put me to the test, if you let me try
"You planned this; I know, somehow, you did." I told Tanya as we watched the tow truck tow my truck away. I was sure if Edward were there, especially Rosalie, they would want to throw a party about my truck having to be towed away because it stopped working.
"If you can't prove it, then I didn't do it." Tanya said with a smirk from next to me as she wrapped her jacket around me since it was windy and she definitely didn't need it.
We were just about to leave the restaurant and go back to the Cullen's, just like I had told Charlie I would, when my tire blew out. Naturally, this being the first time it happened, I panicked a little. Before I panicked too much though, I remembered all vehicles had spare tires for just that occasion. The spare tire I had though, was in even worse shape than the one that blew. Luckily Tanya was there and was able to call a tow company for my poor truck; supposedly she just so happened to have seen an ad for one someplace and she claimed that with her perfect memory she was able to remember the number. Of course, it took the tow company nearly an hour to actually get to us, so Tanya was all too willing to pay for us to spend the night and then to pay for my truck to get a tire in time for us to pick it up tomorrow.
"You could have at least let me pay for the tow and tire." I said with a pout, choosing to drop the previous topic because she had a point. I could accuse all I wanted to but without being able to prove anything, it didn't really matter… except that I knew I was right. Knowing I was right didn't really do anything for me though.
"I don't mind paying for you Bella; I'm happy that I was here for you." Tanya said as she not so subtly put her arm around my waist as we walked towards the very expensive hotel that she claimed we had to have so she could make sure I completely relaxed after my mini panic attack.
Tanya also had no problem, with her perfect memory and us just driving through town to get to a couple bookstores and have dinner, remembering where a nice hotel was and their number. She wouldn't give me a straight answer on how she managed to see the number. She would only say she has amazing eye sight and can see things I can't. I was betting that she had seen the number because of a certain little pixie; but I also couldn't prove it.
"I should probably call Edward to let him know." I half-heartedly said as we walked into the elevator. Tanya's arm was still around me, but for some reason, I had no motivation to remove it. It seemed comforting and I didn't want to put too much thought into why that was.
"You could; or he could call you and make sure you are okay when he realizes you arrived later than anticipated, or didn't call like you had said you would. That's what I would do; if I wasn't out with my girlfriend, I would make sure she was safe and I knew where she was in case something happened, I could get there to help her." Tanya said as we rode the elevator in silence.
I wasn't expecting that response. I didn't know Tanya was gay, not that I had anything against it because I didn't. I guess I just assumed that all vampires were straight because of the whole mating thing. Mates were usually used for mating and mating was usually done to produce offspring, which could only be done between a female and male; but whatever, it didn't bother me at all.
"You um, do you have a girlfriend?" I asked and was actually really nervous about what her answer would be. I was practically afraid of what she say and that didn't make any sense.
"I'm working on it; but I'm sure I will very soon." Tanya said confidently. I wasn't sure if I was relieved or not. I felt relieved because based from what she said, she didn't have a girlfriend; but she's going to, which makes me un-relieved. I didn't understand why I would care one way or the other. I was worried about why I cared.
"Oh, well, good luck then." I said as we exited the elevator, Tanya's hand around my waist gently guided me in the direction we needed to go. Another thing to add to the growing list of things I didn't understand was why I liked Tanya's hand around my waist and why her guiding me made me feel so safe. With her arm around me, I felt like nothing could hurt me. I felt more protected than I did when I was with Edward. Maybe it was because she was older and a coven leader? That had to be it.
"Thank you; though I'm very confident I won't have a problem." Tanya said as we came to a stop in front of the last door in the hallway. "This is us." Tanya said as she opened the door and allowed me to go in first.
The room was definitely a lot nicer than I thought it would be. I should have expected it though since the restaurant Tanya had picked for us to go was very upscale as well. I was surprised we were allowed in the place with the clothes we were wearing; but I was sure Tanya convinced them to somehow look the other way. The hotel though was amazing. I highly doubted that if I had never met the Cullen's, or Tanya since she was the one that took me here, I would probably have never seen a hotel room this nice.
"Would you like to watch a movie since it is still early?" Tanya said as she headed towards what seemed to be a small living room area that had a nice television set and furniture set.
"That would be nice." I admitted. "I'm not nearly tired enough yet to go to sleep." I said as I followed her into the room and sat next to her on the couch as she scrolled through our different choices. Something told me that the hotel stay would be very interesting.
A/N: I know it's short, but it's almost over and I'm still not sure exactly how to end it. So instead of procrastinating on getting something out, I wrote up what I knew I wanted to write. Sorry again about the shortness.
A/N Update: Updated 08/26/2014. I've now started to put my focus on this story since I just finished my other one. I don't predict this being a much longer story than what it already is. Not much has been changed in this chapter, just a little upkeep. Just a reminder, the pairing has been changed to Bella/all three Denali sisters.
