Chapter 9: Pirate Hideout
Entering the grim hideout was a powerful pack of pirates carrying a light cage into the uninviting death trap. Leading this volatile parade of miniblins was the evil, heartless and insensitive creature Andre. For once one of his plans went smoothly; tonight he was going to fry up some delicious humans for the occasion, a bratty little boy and his elderly counterpart who had once served the 'mighty' pirate captain Tetra. These two human scum had stolen His treasure during a fishing trip. How HUMIIATING! All he was doing was returning the simple favour.
Inside the cage, Link was grief-struck. He had accused his friend of kidnapping him and the moblins had left him in the woods, trapped in his cage. Finally, the evil Andre spoke up, "My gruesome and gritty mob of scurvy pirates, tonight we FEAST on the flesh of two of our enemies! Then we advance our forces to blow our main rival down, the almighty, atrocious Alfonzo!"
All the moblins cheered with glee and pried. They clapped as fast as the beating sound of trains. This didn't even comfort the heart broken child who sat glumly in his prison.
But all so sudden, Andre spotted one thing missing; the old man! "AVAST YE CHERRING!" screamed the now enraged pirate. "Where in the great ends of the Dark Realm is the old man?!" yelled the confused and irritated demon. If the pirates had facial expressions, you can see the shock and fright pasted on their poor faces, but you can tell because of their whimpering sounds and sudden shaking. "Well, where is the aged scallywag?! ANYONE?!" Bravely, one of the frightened mutants limped over to the frustrated Andre and whispered the secrete of how they tossed Niko into the cold. "WHAT?! YOU WORTHLESS LITTLE SALTY SWABS! We were MEANT to fry the BOTH OF THEM..." Unexpectedly, An idea sprung inside his mind and to show it, a revolting smile stretched upon his distorted face. "Change of plan. The majority of you, would go and search the WHOLE forest and tackle this old man down you pickle-brained landlubbers! As for the rest of you, which ESPECIALLY goes for the other larger pirates, would stay and guard the kid! We're going use these to use these mortals as bait to reel in our rival Alfonzo!" The moblins immediately discussed who would go and who would stay to guard Link. Immediately, thousands of moblins began to flee from the hideout and search for Niko leaving some moblins to keep an eye on the cruelly caged child.
The moblins then turned their attention to Link and pointed their sharp point weapons directly at him! Surrounding him with spears, swords blades! Link's sorrow was replaced with fear. How was he going to survive now? Especially without Niko to comfort him!
Outside, the miniblins had scurried around the forest. Looking behind trees, under bushes, even going so far as to dig up the soil in hopes of finding Niko. Eventually, the idiot moblins came to a conclusion, the old man inside the cage must have been at the same place where they discovered him and the child. Duh, ya think?!
Wasting no time they came to their senses and hurried back to the destroyed and battered village where they found the duo. And big surprise, they found the old man's cage... but, no old man.
The cage had a few bars missing and Niko was completely absent. He escaped!
Franticly, the pirates ran desperately through the forest in hope of catching the old man. They came across an old cottage, which seemed to be the old man's house. They tore down the whole place reducing the defenceless domain to rubble. Nothing. Niko wasn't there. The moblins continued to search and search and search the forest looking for the old man.
Meanwhile, a struggling figure was running in the background. "LINK!" The old man yelled as he tried to search for the little boy.
He desperately tried to call out for the small child, whom he had lost to a pack of moblin pirates. He really hated moblins, especially after that heartless onslaught of pirates captured him and his best friend Link.
After a long, painful search for his captured friend, he came across a large train track at the edge of the island. Link would have loved this wonderful sight. A couple of trains passed by and the old man Niko stared sadly at the moving trains. Link really would of loved to have seen away from the glowing, glamorous, golden tracks, he lowered his head in shame and proceeded to travel back to his cottage. The pirates could be anywhere by now... maybe even in front of him! His head quickly bolted up as if he was electrified. It was a huge, intimidating and grim tower. It was the Pirate Hideout! They must taken Link inside that giant building. Taking in one deep breath, Niko entered the uninviting tower even with the petrifying appearance warning him to turn around and get lost.
Inside the Pirate's Hideout, little Link was witnessing a violent argument against the miniblins. Their hard-hearted monster of a captain had left the room to plan out his 'new and improved' plan to lure this guy called Alfonzo. Who was Alfonzo anyway? Why is this guy so eager to kidnap him and why did he need him and Niko to do so?!
The battle between the mindless mutants became much more violent and soon every single one of the insane creatures began battering each other. Tons of equipment sprouted from the rising pile of tiny moblins, whiles the larger pirates slowly tried to demolish the raging red cloud. A moblin with a set of keys in his hands sprinted nearby Link's cage to join in the rising riot. Swiftly, Link snatched the keys straight from the carless and unsuspecting moblins tiny mitts and fiddled with the lock until he managed to unlock it. Link flung open the door and sneaked towards the exit while the red cloud continued to mutate and expand.
Exiting the cave he had just escaped from, Link continued to slowly creep away from the feud until the sound of the senseless fighting died down. Once the reverting sound vanished from his ears, Link quickly dashed to find his way out. He ran as quickly as his feet can muster, not looking back. He continued sprinting forward when... bang.
Link came in contact with a rock-hard obstacle and dropped to the floor. Ouch. Could he have bumped into a wall? Rising his head, he came face to face with a huge pirate mutant! His pupils directly on Link signalling that he was about to strike and rid the child of his life. The moblin raised his gigantic club and slammed it down. Link bounced up like a spring and quickly avoided the attack. Panic ensued and begged him to run for his young life, so Link shrieked and sprinted around the bulky monster continuing his objective to escape only to be tangled into a moving web of moblins!
The short little pirate figures had returned from their failed journey to ensnare and return Niko to the cave, and seeing the child attempting to escape send their stress metres erupting like volcanoes. They tried to pin him down but Link rapidly punched and kicked them of before they could all pin him down like they did to his friend.
Avoiding what could off been another attack from the giant thanks to the smaller moblins, Link shook himself up and again ran for it. Luckily the moblins weren't as fast as the boy and the giant couldn't even muster a consistent speed.
Running straight ahead from the struggling mob, Link sped up in case they were still following and...
Bump! Link bumped into a much less painful obstacle. Again, Link raised his head to look at the strange obsta... wait it wasn't an obstacle it was a Hylian figure. It was... Niko!
"Niko!" Link cheered.
Hearing the familiar and reassuring youthful voice, Niko quickly stood up ignoring his back pain and squeezed his best friend. "Oh Linky, I'm so sorry I snapped at ya. I just..." Their heart warming moment was cut short as they heard the pack of pirates catching up. They were hungry and starving for victory due to the fact that if they let those to humans escape, their heads would be hung over Andre's fire place. "Quickly Lad, lets blow this moblin infested house of nightmares!" With that said, the two rushed towards the other cave of the pirate hideout while the desperate creepers chased them down.
Meanwhile, Andre arrived back to the main hall and discovered that over half of his pirate army broke down in a murderous display of a battle. "Oy! STOP THE FIGHT!" Screamed the powerful demon. The battle finally came to an end as the fuming captain eased his temper tantrum. "What is wrong you meddling sea dogs?" Andre's anger hopped back into him once he saw the empty cage with its door loosely open. "WHERE IS THAT BOY YOU PATHETIC EARTH LUBBERS?! DON'T TELL ME YOU LET THE BRAT ESCAPE OVER YOUR PATHETIC FUED FOR MALLUDUS KNOWS WHAT!" The moblins and even the big moblins trembled with uncontrollable fear as they stared into the raging pirates one swollen eye. "I should of known DANG WELL not to leave INCOMPETENT slaves like you in charge of such an important job. Well what are you waiting for? FIND THAT BOY!" The pirate captains fiery rage practically blew the red crowd of their feet as they quickly dashed away looking for the missing child.
Mean while, Link and Niko desperately sped through the dark caves which only did nothing but drive their beating hearts up the wall as they tried to flee from the crew. Unfortunately, they came across a humongous gap, which looked like a 50 feet fall. Their heads spun as their ears picked up on the enlarging sound of the moblins with their moblin handmade cages ready to contain the two helpless humans.
"Is this how it all ends Niko?! Trapped inside a cave with an evil pirate forever?!" exclaimed Link. Niko then spotted a track with a wooden cart placed on top of it. Though it seemed partly broken and old, it looked stable enough to ride.
"Trapped inside a cave my spleen!" Niko picked up Link, placed him inside the cart and hopped in. "Hang on Laddy, we're in for a bumpy ride!" They shuffled and heaved inside the cart until it finally pushed of. So far, it seemed like they were home free.
"Quickly you slimy scallywags! Get in the carts and chase them!" The sound of Andre's booming voice brought fear back into the two human.
Rapidly, Niko's pandering heart began to hammer in his chest as he and Link roamed the cave, trapped inside the small, unstable mine cart that held them ransom throughout the whole ride. And as if things couldn't get any worse, both the victims turned to face the feisty pirates which were hot on their tail. Almost instantly, the moblins began professionally creating cages.
"Ok what is with these guys and cages?!" exclaimed the panicking Niko.
One of the miniblins hopped onto the edge of their cart and began ripping bits of their already struggling cart. Another proceeded to join it and they continued to smash the craft. Quickly, Niko gained his courage and battered the rejected moblin with his cane and slammed them of the cart.
This didn't stop the moblins though as they continued to try destroy the cart. Much to the two protagonist's already present dismay, the moblins pulled out some arrows and began firing at the cart. Niko battered the arrows away, whiles Link fought of the moblins leaping towards their cart. They were winning! They managed to turn the tables around! They were going to make it... or so they thought. Unbeknownst to the two there was a giant moblin waiting at the end of the track to strike them with its huge club. Link turned around and spotted the monster waiting for them to arrive for him to deliver the deadly pay load.
"Niko! Turn around! There's a huge monster waiting for us!" Niko swiftly turned around and his eyes widened upon the sight of the dreaded creature slowly waiting for his turn to attack them. The moblins in the other carts where side to side next to them and were already making their cages. Niko then thought of a risky and dangerous move.
"I've got an idea Link but you have to trust me. We're going to have to jump on one of the other carts so..."
"We're gonna jump?!" screamed Link. The monster was patiently anticipating their arrival to strike.
"Listen to me. I know this is so frightening and scary considering your age. I'm scared too but we have to try this to survive, understand?" Link hesitated for a moment but a serious look ensued and he nodded firmly. They then yelled and jumped onto the nearby cart barley hanging on to it. The moblins were shocked at their move and the two quickly climbed aboard and knocked the mutant of. At the end of the track they avoided the up close attack and ran straight out of the pirates hide out.
The Moblins had arrived at the end of the track by the time Niko and Link left the hideout. Andre also arrived with fiery pupils of his failed attempt at capturing the two earth spawns on even the most dangerous ride of their lives. "Catch them you moblin scum bags!" Thundered the villain.
Desperately, the moblins ran straight out of the cave in hopes of catching Link and Niko.
Outside, Niko led Link out of the forest and towards the train track, which he had witnessed earlier while the moblins searched for the two humans. Niko only prayed that a train would come by and help them. Much to their luck, a train was coming by. Niko's fear was replaced with hope and Link's eyes widened with admiration. He knew he would love the sight of a train but never this much. Immediately, the youth snapped out of his child admiring thoughts as his attention turned to Niko's attempts to call over the train.
"HEY OVER HERE!" Screamed Niko to the train. Link joined in as they yelled at the top of their lungs. But on the downside, the miniture sized moblins including Andre picked up on their screams.
"PLEASE WAIT! COME ON WE'RE OVER HERE!" they continued to cry as they hoped and prayed for the train to arrive, especially considering the fact they knew their screams have caught Andre and the pirate's attention. Andre followed the noisy yells of the two earth spawns, eager for instantaneous vengeance. Niko's lungs were aching but he didn't give up. He continued to call for the train. Would the train conductor pick up on their cries?
Woo Woo
The train signalled them. Niko was crying tears of joy as the train swapped tracks and traveled upon tracks leading to to Link's and Niko's island. But the excitement was gone once they heard the moblins coming. Luckily, the man stepped out appeared to be a muscular powerful man. It was Gonzo's grandson Alfonzo!
"Excuse me are you in need of some assistance?" asked the tall man. Before Niko or Link could say something, the moblins had shown up, even Andre!
"Yes Alfonzo, Your just in time." Smiled the evil pirate. His spiky teeth becoming visible as he recognized the muscular man. Alfonzo's jaw dropped as he took in the appearance of the familiar demon. It was Andre, the demonic pirate who attempted to demolish Hyrule and rob it of its fine riches. "This plan turned out better than I expected! Now time to repay the favour from 4 years ago."
Cliff Hanger! Andre and Alfonzo are going to battle again! Tune in for the next chapter and be sure to leave a review
