Chapter 30:
Koopa Family Dinner

Dinner was going pretty well, much better than Luigi had thought it would be. As soon as Wendy's brothers arrived at the dinner table, he was introduced to them. Upon their introduction, the male Koopalings became determine to irritate their sister with constant teasing, kissy noising, and even singing that old children song, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Their efforts were successful as Wendy was annoyed to no end. Luigi didn't mind, though, and let them have their little fun.

The only real predicament he had was Sir Kalvin. The black Koopa wouldn't level up on him or accept the king's decision. He would constantly compliment himself and highlight his success in life while pointing out any and all of Luigi's flaws. Kalvin was determined to prove to everyone that he was the superior one of the two and Luigi was getting frustrated.

"...So thus mark the end of my college years." said Kalvin.

He had just finish tell everyone the story about his four years at the Koopa University and, needless to say, not everyone was interested.

"That was most interesting Sir Kalvin, thank you for sharing with us." said Kamek.

"Yea', thanks a lot," said Roy sarcastically.

Kamek shoot him a glare and he shrugged. Shaking his head, the magikoopa turned to Luigi. "How about you, Kasanova? What was your college experience like?"

Like Kalvin, Kamek didn't approve of the king's decision to allow Wendy to date someone with low status. He was just smart enough not to speak his opinion on it out loud. However, he was willing to give Kasanova a chance to prove himself in hopes that he may someday be someone of importance if given the right training and guidance.

Luigi paused from his eating and turn to the magikoopa. "Well, uh, Master Kamek, I..."

"Kamek, please," Kalvin interrupt him "Let's not embarrass him by comparing my high success with his own." Kalvin sat back from his seat and smirk slightly. "Besides, he's a commoner. He probably didn't finish college or high school for that matter."

Luigi grunt slightly. He had just enough with Kalvin's constant insults.

"Actually, Sir Kalvin," Luigi spoke. "I have graduated high school for that matter and completed two years of college with an A.A degree. A few years ago, I decide to return to school to get my medical degree."

It was true. Luigi was on route to getting his medical degree. His brother Mario had already gotten his degree years ago and it wasn't until a few years later he thought about getting his own. (1)

"A medical degree, you say?" Kammy questioned. "Ah, so you're planned to become a doctor of some sort. That's very knowledgeable of you, Kasanova."

Kammy was the only one of the four koopas who liked Luigi. From what Wendy had told her, the green koopa was definitely someone she would like to meet. And even though she was a bit disappointed to learn that he was a commoner, it looks like he was willing to make it up with years of hard work.

"You're going to be a doctor?" Iggy questioned with interested. Luigi nodded. "What kind of sciences courses are you taking?"

"Mostly chemistry,"

"Cool, chemistry is my favorite. You think you can hook me up with some books? I'll be your study buddy if you do."

"Sure, I don't see why not."

Iggy beamed. He was excited; so excited that he started talking in rhymes. Wendy turned to Bowser. "Daddy, what do you think? Kasanova will be quite successful once he gets his medical degree."

Bowser shrugged and sat up from his seat at the table's end. "Uh, I guess. I never got all that science and medical stuff, but if you're able to put up with it for what…eight, ten years then I guess that's pretty respectable."

Luigi smiled at the comment. He turned to Wendy. "I probably will be busy with all the studying I'll have to do. But I promise to make it up to you any chance I get."

Wendy shook her head. "Oh no, please, don't worry about me. I don't want to distract you from your studies. I know how important education is and the least I could do is help you with you study."

"If you can get it," Ludwig joked.

Wendy turn glared at him. Luigi spoke. "Big or small, I'm sure any help will be greatly appreciated."

Ludwig chuckled. "Well then, expect it to be small..."

Lemmy laughs. "Yeah, real small... bite size even!"

The male koopalings laugh at their joke. Luigi rolled his eyes and smiled. Wendy growled at her brothers' ignorance.

"Fine, laugh all you want." She said, taking Luigi's hand. "You won't be laughing when my boyfriend become a successful doctor with me by his side every step of the way."

She leaned over and places a big kiss on his cheek which caused him to blush slightly. The Koopalings scoffed and gagged when she did that.

"Eww, gross!" said Junior.

"Ugh, I think I'm going to be sick." Morton mumbled.

"Can't you two get a room?" said Roy "Yur messin' wit' our appetites."

Wendy huffed and smirked. "That's too bad Roy. If you can't stand us kissing, then that girl you're seeing will never like you."

Roy shot up and glared at his sister behind his glasses. Before he could say anything, Kammy picked up from their conversation.

"Girl? What girl?" She asked "Roy, you didn't mention you were seeing anyone?"

"Dat's because I'm not!"

"Ah, please!" said Junior. "If you're not seeing anyone, Roy, then who do you go out to meet for the past two weeks?"

"First o' all, mind yer own business, you little brat! He growled. "Second, I didn't meet wit' anyone fo' da past week. And third, if I was meetin' wit' someone, den it was most likely jus' a friend"

"Yeah,your girlfriend... muah, muah, muah!"

The Koopalings laugh. Roy's pink head started turning red as he furiously tries to convince everyone that he did not have a girlfriend. As the siblings enjoy themselves, Luigi turn to Kalvin. The black shelled was fuming over the fact that he managed to out stage him for a bit. Luigi shrugged and continue his dinner. The black koopa had brought it upon himself.

After dinner, everyone was free to do their own things. Not wanting to turn in just yet, the couple sought out for a walk around the castle.

"You did great by the way," Wendy commented. She and Luigi had stop by a quiet balcony to share a private conversation.

"Thanks." He said. "It actually went better than I thought. Although, I didn't actually get Bowser's approval,"

Wendy shook her head. "Don't worry so much about it. You got his permission; that's a good start. I'm sure you'll get Daddy's approval in no time."

"I guess you're right."

"I know I am."

They lean forward and shared a kiss under the moon. They were like that for minutes. Their light kiss eventually got deeper and deeper until there was a slight blush on both their faces. They parted and gasped as they try to catch their breath.

"Let's go to my room,"

Luigi let out a shaky breath. Before he could reply, Wendy took his hand and started leading him to her room. The halls were pretty empty as they briskly made their way to the sleeping chambers. They were walking around a corner when they saw Roy leaning against the stone wall.

"Hey, got a minute ta talk?" He asked.

"Depends? What do you want to talk about, Roy? We're kind of busy."

Roy raised an eye brow behind his glasses. "Busy, uh?"

"Yes, busy,"

Roy frowned. He looked over to Luigi who looked a bit flushed. He shook his head and stood up from against the wall. "Whatever, I was actually hopin' ta talk ta Kasanova if you don't mind."

Luigi blinked in surprise. Wendy narrowed her eyes. "For what for?"

Roy shrugged. "Just... you know, talk ta him is all. What... can't a brother talk ta his sista's boyfriend fer a couple o' minutes?"

Wendy didn't look convince. Luigi stepped in the first time and spoke.

"It will only be for a few minutes, Wendy. It's no big deal."

Wendy turned to him and blinked, reconsidering. After a moment, she sighed. "Fine, you two can talk. But once you're done, come by my room okay?"

Luigi nodded and plant a kiss on her cheek. "I'll see you in a bit."

She nodded and started heading towards her room. She sent a warning glare at Roy and pass by him. Roy shrugged her off as he watches her go.

Once she was out of sight, he turned to Luigi who had turned to him. The pink glasses wearing koopa puffed and cross his arms, studying the green koopa in front of him.

"So..." he said. "Yur da Mr. Small-Hickey I've been hearin' so much about."

Luigi flinched slightly at the nickname. "You know about that?"

Roy snorted. "Of course, I knew... Wendy went around da castle showin' it ta everyone. At first I thought she jus' fell down some stairs because it was dat small, but she insisted dat it came from you."

Luigi shrugged. "Well, I'm not really into all that marking business. I trust Wendy to be faithful."

"Ah uh...listen Kasanova," Roy stood up straight, making himself look bigger than he appeared. "Jus' ta let you know, Wendy isn't like any o' da other girls. Fo' one thin', she got me ta fall on if anythin' bad happens. And trust me; you don't want anythin' bad ta happen."

Luigi swallowed nervously, regretting his decision to talk to the Koopa alone. He could tell Roy was being protective over his little sister which wasn't something he was use to seeing when it comes to the purple shelled Koopa.

"So," he continued "I'm jus' goin' ta ask you dis once...you want ta date my sista, right?"

Luigi nodded, and stuttered a bit in his speech. "Y-Yes, I do."

Roy uncrossed his arms and placed them on his hips. "Well then, prove ta me dat yer worthy o' her."

"And how am I supposes to do that?"

Roy smirked. "I'm goin' ta take you on a little trainin' session."

Shivers ran down Luigi's spine. Whatever Roy had in mind, he wasn't sure if he was going to like it or not.

"O...kay..."
