Owen wake up from his beautiful dream, it feel so real, but until he realize he is in on-call room, his conscious knock him down, he going to has surgery today, he check his watch it 5 am, he remember that he don't have any preparation clean clothes for his post surgery and then he also realize he don't have anybody to take care of him after the surgery, he take a deep breath and composure himself, then check his phone, Nathan smile picture appear, it warm his heart, he don't care for what happened for him later on, all he want to do is to save his son, he soon walk out from hospital to his house.
After back from his house, he looking for dr. Bailey, he asked about surgery plan, dr. Bailey tell him that, Meredith and dr. Webber will operate him, to take his liver, and Nathan surgery will perform by herself and Arizona, the surgery will start at noon, Owen agree with her plan, then he looking for Avery, he want to delegated his job to him, while he in recovery after the surgery, he prepared all paper that he'll need while he take over his position as chief of surgery.
After finished his business with Avery, he brace himself walk to Cristina room, then he saw Meredith watch her from outside the glass door, Meredith greet him first, "hi, how are you this morning?", "good, I just finish talked with Avery about take over my position while I'm in treatment after the surgery, how are you?, and Derek? Are you two okay?", he asked her with hesitate, he feel guilty after their stupid quarrel yesterday.
"Yes, I'm fine, I have to, I'll be fine for Cristina and her son. And Derek, he still in shock, I really want to punch him hard after know that he hide the truth about Cristina, but I realized he also hurt like both of us, as matter of fact that he really close with William, he like his second Sloan, he still stay in hospital until him out of surgery, he make sure William, Cristina and Nathan survive the surgery, then he back home", then she back look at Cristina, "I really miss her so much you know", Meredith suddenly sobbing, "I miss her so much, I want to hug her, I love her, she is my person, she'll always be my person, and now, I don't know that she will ever come back to us", Owen don't know what to do, he feel her pain, he also felt the same way, he pat her shoulder, "I don't know if it make you feel better, I did hug Cristina when I first met her in LA three months ago, and then I get a hard punch form William", Meredith laugh imagine that picture, "yeah, you deserved it", "yeah I know", Owen give her a smile, he know that now both of them is in wound and they will not make it worse.
Before Owen going to the operation room, he asked Izzie a favor to take him a photo when he stand beside unconscious Nathan, even though it's not ideal condition, but he don't know that he'll ever has this opportunity anymore in future, he kiss his hand before walk out from Nathan room, he also asked all of doctor involve in that surgery promises that they will never tell anybody that he the one that donor his liver for Nathan, Owen lay in bed, already in the operation room, last time he heard is Webber voice, then everything is dark.
Owen wake up after the surgery, it takes time for him to realize what happened, when he felt pain in his abdomen, he remember, he just had a surgery, then he heard Shane voice, "sir, you just had a surgery, can you hear me?", he asked, Owen give him a nod, he want to asked about Nathan, but his throat sore, he grab Shane hand, look to him with teary eyes, "Nathan surgery just finish half of hours ago, he is fine dr. Hunt" Shane reassured him.
William wakes from his unconscious after the surgery, he realized he just had big surgery, he felt pain in all over his body, a ventilator on his throat, then he remember Cristina and Nathan, he tried to wake from the bed, but he can't. Fortunately, nurse which already order by Derek to always watch him, spryly help to calm him, she ordered by Derek to inform about his family condition, "sir, you are in grey sloan memorial hospital, your wife dr. Yang, your son Nathan is fine", after hear the news William feel calm, after check his vital nurse talked to him "your vital is good sir, we'll soon take the vent, so please stay calm, I'll call dr. Sheppard to inform him you are awake", he give her a nod, then he fall sleep again.
William faintly heard conversation in his sleep, he heard about Nathan surgery and Owen being mention in conversation, he can't follow it because he feel headache, and next hours he wake up, and saw Derek face, he feel calm after seeing him, Derek help him to take out his vent, then move him from ICU.
Derek inform him that Cristina still in ICU, and Nathan in surgery for liver transplant, he assure him everything going to be alright, and he choose to believe it, because there nothing he can't do besides that.
Izzie come to his room, he relief she said Nathan surgery going well, she also tell him Helen already take plane since last night, so she'll be here tomorrow, he really want to meet his family but he still have no power to wake from his bed, Izzie promise him that she will take him to see Cristina and Nathan tomorrow, William asked Izzie to stay with Nathan until he wake, because he is worry Nathan will get stress when he didn't see his parent at least Izzie is familiar face, so she can calm him.
It at 2 am Nathan wakes, he start to cry, Izzie calm him, and nurse sedated him so he can calm and rest, then Nathan can move his treatment room, at afternoon, Owen want to check Nathan condition, he force himself to wheelchair, and Shane voluntary to take him to Nathan room, then when he going to Nathan room, there no one there, because Izzie in William room, he look at Nathan face, he look really handsome without the vent, he can't help his tears, he stroke his hair, then Nathan wakes, he suddenly crying, looking at stranger in his room, nurse come to the room try to calm him, Owen shocked with Nathan respond but he understand, he asked Shane to take him out from the room, before take a last look to his son face.
Helen finally arrive at GSMH, she can't held her tears, Saul tried to composure her, and remind her to be strong to face it for shake of Cristina, William also force himself to be in wheelchair with Izzie help, he want to met his son soon, then William, Izzie, Helen, and Saul gathered in Nathan's room, Helen feel grateful that her daughter, son in law, and her precious grandson is alive.
Owen just visit Cristina, he just saw her from outside glass door, looking at her face at lease easy his feeling, because he succeed to save their son, yes, their son, he said that loud in his heart, then he asked Shane to take him back to his room, but Shane intentionally take him to Nathan room back because he know, Owen still want to see Nathan before back to his room, but then he can hear, Helen grateful voice, and he saw Nathan grab William hand, and called him dad, when he passed the room, it hurt him to the core, he totally a stranger for Nathan and Cristina family.
Shane feel guilty, after see the entire scene, he help Owen to the bed, then apologize, "it's okay Shane, I'm really thankful you helping me, thank you so much" he tried to reassure him, but his eyes and voice betrayed him, then suddenly "Owen" he look at William in wheelchair at his door.
