Sorry for the late chapter. I've been suffering from a writer's block and have been getting easily distracted lately.

Chapter 37:
Daddy's Approval

Two Hammer Bros ran pass the hall as they head towards the area where the red hero was last seen. After they pass by, the door to Bowser's bedroom opened slightly and a green head peaked outside. Luigi looked both ways to make sure there wasn't anyone around before coming out halfway himself. Once he was sure the hallway was clear, he came out fully and requests the princess to do the same. Once she was out, he closes the door and turn to her.

"Stay close, okay," He said "I'll lead you to where Mario is."

Peach nodded. Luigi took her hand and started escorting her through the halls. Thanks to his tour earlier, he knew alternative ways to get around and avoid any guards. Peach walked near him. Not close enough to feel the spikes on his back, but enough so she wouldn't get lost or spotted.

They stopped at a corner, just in time for two Fly-guys to fly by. Once they pass by, they continue down the hall in the opposite direction. They were halfway thorough when they hear footsteps coming towards them. Panicking, Luigi quickly looks around to find some place for them to hide. He spots a door just ahead of them and sprint towards it.

"This way,"

He leads the princess to the door and opens it. Once they both were inside, he shuts the door. No sooner than when he did that, a group of Magikoopas and a few Koopatrols ran by. Luigi, who had his head against the door frame, let out a huge sigh of relief.

"That was close,"

Peach nodded and took notice of the room they were. "Whose room is this?" she asked.

"Uhm?" Luigi turn around and scan the area. He recognized it immediately. "Oh, this is Wendy's room."

"Does she happens to have her own bathroom?" she asked. "I suddenly have to go."

Luigi blink at the request but didn't question it. "Uhm, sure," he points to the door where the bathroom was. "It's just behind that door,"

"Thank you," Peach walks over to the door he pointed at and disappears behind it.

Luigi shrugs, "Nature calls I guess,"

He walks over to Wendy's make up stand and sat in the chair. While he waits for Peach to finish, he mentally went through his plan. So far everything was going fine, even if he was running on instinct. The only problem was he wasn't too sure what he'll do after Princess Peach was out of harm's way. He sighs and leans against the stand, causing some of its things to tilt and fall over to the floor.

"Opps," He leans forwards and started to pick them back up. Once he held the last item in his hand, he look at it thoughtfully.

Peach came out of the bathroom a minute later, dusting herself off as she did so. "Okay, I'm ready,"

Luigi stood up from his chair and turn to her, an idea forming in his head. "Princess, how good are you with make-up?"

Wendy sighs as she steady walk her way back to the castle. She was tired and sweaty. All she wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed with her mate beside her.

She smiled and speeded up her walking pace. It's funny really... if she had told herself two months ago that she would ending up dating the green plumber, she would have laugh her shell off. Now, she gets excited just by thinking about him. And if she gets this excited just by the thought alone, she could only imagine what the full package would be like.

When she made it back, she saw that the whole castle was up in smoke. She entered and made way to the throne room where her father said he'll be. From there, she saw the other Koopalings trying to get Bowser back on his feet while Kalvin and Junior stood on the sidelines watching them. With a frustrated sigh, she walked over to help them out. With one strong push, all seven of them were able to get Bowser back on his feet.

"Are you alright, Dad?" Junior asked.

"I'm fine," Bowser grunts, cracking his neck. "Just a little sore,"

"I'm sorry to tell you this, my lord, but the plumber had escape with the princess."

Bowser growled. "Darn it, how the heck did he even get to her anyways? I gave Kasanova the key."

"Perhaps he gave it up," Kalvin said casually. "He seems to be of the cowardly type; all the plumber had to do was look at him and he'll retreat right back inside his shell."

Wendy looked at the black koopa with displeasure. She knew Luigi wasn't as much of a coward as everyone portrays him to be. After all, he did rescue his brother three times in the past, (once against Bowser and twice against the King of Boos), and he had saved princess all by his lonesome self when his brother was sick with the flu. (1)

"Where is that Koopa, anyways?" Bowser said frustrated.

"Don't know," said Junior "No one seen him since Mario came by,"

"Maybe he's in hiding," Kalvin remarked. "We should probably check under a rock to see if he's there."

Wendy groans in annoyance; she was really getting tired with the black koopa's constant criticism about her boyfriend. She was about to say something when a Goomba came running in, panting like he had just run a mile.

"Your Highness," pants the Goomba. "There's...an emergency."

"Great," Bowser groans "What is it?"

"We found Kasanova Koopa, sir... and he appears to be injured."

"What?!" Wendy pushed whoever Koopa was in front of her and leap in front of the Goomba. "What happened to him?"

The Goomba jumped back from her in fright. "Uh, Mario, mistress…we think the plumber got to him."

"Where is he now?" Bowser asked.

"In the hallway, Kamek is with him as we speak."

"Take me to him," Wendy ordered.

The Goomba nodded and lead her across the hallway. Wendy followed close behind him with Bowser and the others trailing along. When they got to the sight, they saw a small crowd had gathered around. In the center of their attention was Luigi who was leaning against the wall with Kamek standing beside him.

"Kasanova,"

Upon seeing Wendy and the others, the small crowd step aside to create a path for them. Once she saw her boyfriend, Wendy ran straight towards him and kneeled by his side.

"Kasanova, sweetie, are you okay?" she asked as she looked him over.

Upon closer examination, she was about to see where his injuries lay. He had a bruise over his left eye and another one on his forehead. Other than that, he seems alright.

"I'm fine," Luigi smiled. "Just a little head-ache is all."

"What happened, Kasanova?" Bowser asked him.

"Mario, sir," Luigi explained. "He managed to find me and get the key. I tried to stop him and retrieve the princess but I wasn't strong enough." He bows his head in disappointment. "I'm sorry, my lord, I failed you."

Bowser shrugged the apology off. "Nah, don't worry about it. For now, let's just get you check out."

With a bit of help, Luigi was carried back to Wendy's room to rest. He refused to let the medics have a look at him, constantly stating he will be fine in the morning. Although he did accept the ice-pack for his head and a cup of Mushroom Tea Kamek worked up. During the time, Wendy hovered over him like a mother Birdo. Once everyone had left, she continues to look after him.

"Are you sure you're alright?" she asked worriedly.

She couldn't believe Mario had actually done this to him. Sure, he may not have known it was actually his brother he was fighting but still... She had fought the red plumber plenty of times and she had never gotten bruises like this before, nor did her brothers and father.

"I'm fine, Wendy" Luigi said "Really, I am... Look,"

He took the ice pack off his head and wipe over the wet bruise with a napkin. Wendy's eyes widen when she saw the bruise on his head was nearly gone.

"See, its make-up" Luigi explains. "I had Princess Peach apply it on for me to make it look like I gotten in a fight with Mario."

"So...you fake getting injured so you could look in front of everyone?" Wendy questioned.

Luigi nodded. "Yes"

"Wow, and they call me deceitful"

Wendy chuckled softly. She should have known the green plumber would never really help Bowser in his plans. But the fact that he went as far as to actually deceive them was completely unexpected. Who would have thought that a hero like him can swoop down to such as level?

"Well, who knows? Maybe I can be just as deceitful as you," Luigi said with a mischievous way he knew Wendy likes a lot.

Wendy smirked. She always thought a mischievous Luigi was an attractive Luigi. But a mischievous Koopa Luigi was a hot and sexy Luigi. And hot and sexy really gets her work up.

A knock on the door drew their attention. Luigi place the ice pack back on his head and pretend to be injured while Wendy walked over to answer the door. She opened it and was greeted by her father who came by to check on her 'injured' mate.

"How you're going, Kasanova?" He asked.

"Fine, my lord, the tea has helped me out a lot."

"That's good,"

"If I may, sire, I wanted to apologize again for failing you and losing the princess in the process."

"Nah, you did what you had to do. It's that blasted plumber that needs to be sorry." Bowser growled. "And enough of that sire crap; you're one of us now. Call me Bowser,"

Both Wendy and Luigi blinked in surprise. "You...mean it, sir?"

"Of course," Bowser smirked. "Any Koopa with the guts to face Mario head on has my approval in my book."

Luigi beamed. He actually got Bowser's approval. Thrilled about the news, Wendy leans over and hugs him tightly.

"I knew you can win him over," She said. "I just knew you can."

"Yeah," Luigi nodded. "Thank you, Lord Bowser, this means a lot to me."

"Don't mention it," said Bowser "And next time, just leave the fighting to the professional."

"Of course,"

"Alright, I'll leave you two to get some rest."

Bowser exits the room leaving the couple alone in Wendy's room. Once he was gone, the two settle into bed. Wendy nestles into Luigi as he wraps an arm around her shoulders.

"So, we have the rest of the day to ourselves. What do you want to do?" she asked.

"Well," Luigi thought. "We could just sit here and enjoy each other company."

"Or...we could do this,"

She leans forward and captures his lips in a kiss. Luigi pulls her close as he starts to kiss her back.

'Or this,' he thought. 'We could do this too.'

Luigi gestured Wendy to stay behind him as he stood to face whatever was hiding behind the shrubbery.

"Is someone there?" he called out, hoping it was just a couple of forest animals.

The greenery shook some more and Luigi grew more tense. Finally, the figure emerged from hiding and come out into the opening.

"Well, well, if it isn't the green blumber; I haven't seen you in a while."

...

...

"There you are,"

All three of them pause when another figure started to came out from behind the bushes. Luigi's and Wendy's eyes widen in surprise when they saw that the figure was actually an indigo colored toadette.

"Gesh, didn't you hear me calling you? I yelled your name out for like three times already." She paused when she saw Luigi and Wendy standing a few feet away. "Opps,"

"If you don't mind me asking," she said. "What exactly is going on here?"

Luigi sigh; he might as well tell her. Better to hear it from him than some made up story posted by the news. He turned, intending to go home and gesture her to follow.

"Come on, I'll tell you on the way."

Final Ending Note:

Sorry if I disappointed anyone but there is no fighting between Mario and Luigi. Although my snippets did get your attention which was the main goal.
