Chapter 42:
Invite

...

It was a brand new day in Toad Town. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and there was barely a cloud in the sky. To most people, it was day of peace and relaxation. But to someone like Kastoadra, it was a day of boredom and dullness.

The indigo colored toad was currently at the park, taking her lunch break away from the castle. Truth be told, she rather be hanging out with a certain purple shelled koopa right now. Unfortunately, he had stop coming after their discovery of Luigi's and Wendy's relationship.

She frowns and leans back against the park bench. She had grown attached to the purple koopa and had enjoyed their time together. She knew it wouldn't last forever, she just thought it won't end so soon.

"There you are,"

Kassie broke out of her thoughts and turned to her side. Luigi was standing next to her with a soft smile.

"Oh, hey Luigi," She greeted. "How are things with 'Lady Fettuccine'?"

"Great, thanks for asking,"

"So, what brings you here? Should you with her right now?"

"I'm meeting with her later." He replies. "I actually came out to look for you."

Kassie blinked in surprise. "Really? How come?"

"Well," He sat next to her on the bench. "As you may know, tomorrow is our two month anniversary together and we both thought we'll invite you to come along with us to a beach party we're attending."

"A beach party?" Kassie beamed. Luigi nodded.

"Yes. Roy will be there; it will be our way of saying thank you for keeping our secret."

"Well, if you put it that way, of course I'll come"

"Great," Luigi smiled and stood up from his seat. "I'll pick you up tomorrow around noon so we could meet up with the others, okay?"

"Got it, I'll see you then."

Luigi nodded and wave a temporary good-bye to his toad friend. After he left, Kassie grew excited, not just because she was invited to a party, but also to the fact that she get to see Roy again. This invite was just too good to pass off, even if she has to skip through a day of work to attend.

Speaking of work...

"Ah mushrooms, I'm late!"

Roy was always known as a calm and collected guy...which was the opposite of his more outgoing and quick-tempered sister. Back at the orphanage, he was known as the bully because he would always mess with those smaller than him. Of course, that wasn't all true. He mainly bullied those who would or had mess with his sister first. After their parents pass away, it became his job to keep Wendy safe and happy. So, in order to keep those jerks away from his little sis, he picks on them before they could pick on her – it was just plain and simple.

Out of all the other Koopalings, he knew Wendy the best, including what sets her on and off. He also knew how to handle her if she starts to get on his nerves. However, this time was different...

"Fo' da last time, Wendy...NO, I DON'T WANNA COME!"

"But ROY, I'm begging you; you have to come, PLEASE."

"Why?!" he said, throwing his arms out in frustration. "Why do ya want me ta come so badly?"

"Because," Wendy pouts. "It's our way of saying thanks for keeping our secret. If you don't come, then I'll be sad knowing that I had yet to pay you back in appreciation."

Roy grunts and turned away, noticing full well what she met. He looks back to her and saw that she was giving him the puppy dog eyes.

"Please, please, please, please, please..." She pleaded with him almost pitifully.

"Grah," Roy groaned. He couldn't fight against the puppy dog look; he had to give in. "Oh, alright, I'll come."

Wendy beamed. She knew it would work. Luigi had said her eyes were her best feature and her best weapon. She step up and kiss her brother on the cheek, much to his dismay.

"Thank you, big brother." She said.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," He shrugged her off, secretly happy to see her smile. "I jus' hope dis party is at least half as good as you say if will be."

Wendy bought her lips up to a smug smile that Roy personally knows as 'the evil bitch smirk'.

"Oh, don't worry; it will."

The next day rolled by and so did the hour of the party. Wendy and Roy were already at the meeting tree waiting for Luigi and Kastoadra to show up. The party they were going to was a beach party so they were going to need the essentials when planning to go to a beach.

Wendy was sitting under the tree with beach bag next to her, filled with an umbrella, towels, sunscreen, and green sunglasses. Roy stood not too far away from her, his arms cross as he waits impatiently for the two to appear.

"Grah, where da heck are they?" Roy complained. "I thought dis party started an hour ago."

The party had started around noon. Roy and Wendy had left the castle around 12:30. They had been waiting for about twenty minutes now and Roy was beginning to get restless.

"I'm sure they'll be here soon," Wendy said, with a bit more patience than her brother.

True to her words, Luigi and Kassie did arrive a few minutes later, dressed in clothes suitable for the beach and carrying beach bags of their own. Luigi was wearing a simple white t-shirt, green swim shorts, and sandals while Kassie was wearing a nice strapless blue and purple stripped dress, and a blue beach hat with a purple ribbon.

Roy blinked when he saw the toadette. It has been two weeks since they last meant and frankly he thought he will never see her again. He turned to Wendy with an annoyed snarl.

"You never said dat toad girl was comin'"

Wendy shrugged. "Must have slip my mind,"

Roy puffed and focus back on the approaching 'good-guys'. Upon seeing the purple koopa, Kassie smiles and skips over to him.

"Hey there, Roy; it's been a while since I seen you." She said to him.

"Same here," He replies nonchalantly.

"Sorry, we're late; we had to stop by the store real quick." Luigi apologized.

"That's fine." Wendy said as they share a kiss in greeting. "Now, that we're all here, we can get going."

"How are you going to get Luigi and me in anyways?" Kassie asked.

"Simple," Wendy said, taking out her scepter from her bag. "Like this,"

She gave it a wave and pointed it at Luigi. The green plumber was engulfed in a bright light as the spell took effect. Soon, it disappeared and Kasanova Koopa stood in his place.

"Whoa," Kassie awed, astonish at what she just saw.

"Okay, you're next," Wendy warned.

Kassie nodded and stood still as Wendy cast the spell on her. With a simple wave, Wendy pointed her wand at the toad and engulfed her in a ray of light. Kassie gasped in surprise and close her eyes as she felt the tingly sensation of the transformation filled her body. Once the light dimmed, she slowly opened her eyes. Everyone was looking at her, even Roy who had his eyebrows raised in surprise. She blinked,

"D-Did it work?" she asked. She definitely felt different but she wasn't entirely sure.

"Yes, it did." Wendy assures her.

"Have a look at your hands," Luigi suggested.

Kassie blinked again, and did what he asked. She gasped at the sight of her yellow three-fingered and thump talons.

"Oh my..." She said softly as she drew in her other hand.

She quickly stood up and examined at the rest of herself. She was twice as big as she was before. She had tan yellow skin and an indigo color shell on her back. She ran a talon hand along her backside to found her tail sticking out from her bottom. She gasped again and turned back to the others,

"I'm a Koopa."

"I'm a Koopa."

"Yes, you are," Luigi smiled, remembering his reaction when he first transformed.

"Wow," she said as she awkwardly stood up to her feet. "This is both weird and cool at the same time."

"Don't worry; you'll get use to the feeling of it soon." Luigi said as he helps her up.

"So what do you think, Roy?" Wendy said as she stood next to her brother. "Kassie looks pretty good as a koopa, wouldn't you agree?"

The purple koopa blinked and turn his gaze away from the newly transformed koopa. A red blush appeared on his cheeks for he hadn't stopped staring at her since she had transformed.

"Yeah, sure, whatever," He said trying to play it off.

Unfortunately for him, Wendy had already seen his blush and inwardly grins. She knew full well that her brother finds the toad's new koopa form to be attractive. He was just too prideful to admit it out loud.

As soon as Kassie got use to the feel of her new body, the group of four started to head to where the party was located. Wendy took the lead with Luigi by her side like the couple that they were, leaving Roy and Kassie to themselves.

As they walk, Roy kept his gaze straight ahead, so he wouldn't have to look at the blue koopa trailing just behind him. Kassie followed everyone from the rear so she could take in all the new scenery around her. Rarely any toad ever traveled this far away from town, mainly because it falls too close to Bowser's territory.

They pass through Blubble Lake. As they did so, Kassie pause for a moment to have a look at herself in the water's reflection. She saw a female koopa of Bowser's species with tan yellow skin, an indigo colored head, and a matching color shell. She was almost the same height as Wendy, at least an inch or so shorter. Her face was round with light brown hair, big brown eyes, a flat nose, and a small slightly plump pink lip. She was still wearing her strapless blue dress and hat for the spell had change them to fit her new body.

"Hey. Kassie," She jumped slightly and turned her head to see Roy calling her over. "Hurry up, would ya? You don't want us ta leave you behind."

"Coming," She stood up and ran towards where the others stood waiting for her, nearly tripping over her dress in the process. Once she caught up, they continue after the path they were taking.

"So Roy, are you excited about this party as I am?" Kassie asked, trying to the purple koopa to talk.

"Yeah, I'm... thrilled." Roy said, sarcastically.

She pouts. "Ah, come on, Mr. Grumpy; the least you can do is pretend you're excited."

She looks over to the couple in front of them and notice the lack of swimwear Wendy had. She frowned,

"Say, would it really matter if I'm wearing clothes or not?"

Roy blinked at the unsuspecting question. "W-What?"

"Would it matter if I'm wearing clothes or not?" She repeated. "I mean, you're not wearing clothes and either is Wendy. You both walk around naked."

"Yeah, well, dat's because we don't need clothes," He explains. "Unlike you and Mustache here, our shell provides all da coverage we need so we don't have ta worry about bein' expose or anythin'."

"So no one's going to look at me funny if I took off my clothes?"

Roy scoffed. "Why should they? A lot o' Koopas walked around without clothes on; it's completely optional."

"Alright if you say so,"

Roy paused from his walk and turn back to the blue Koopa as she starts to mess with her dress. "What are you doin'?"

"Taking my dress off," she said. "Like you said, it's completely optional. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about it tripping me every so often."

She slides the dress down to her feet, revealing a four patted stomach. Once it was down, she steps over and picked off the ground. She rounded it into a ball and placed it in her beach bag for later. She adjusted her hat and started walking again, finding it easier than before.

"Come on, let's go."

Roy simply stood there as she stroll pass him with a happy jump in her step. Against his better judgment, his eyes found their way down to her tailbone which was waving back and forth with content. When he realizes he was staring, he shook his head and growled. He resumed walking, mumbled angrily to himself as he did so.

"I can't believe dis is happenin' ta me,"
