Quick Author's Note:
I just recently learn from a Guest's review about a new Sonic show called Sonic Boom and after looking at a trailer, I must say I am very excited.
To answer that guest's question - yes, I do think they should try again with another Mario cartoon base on all the most recent Mario games with some improvements to the stories/plots to make them more interesting. In my opinion, I don't think the first one did so well mainly because it was base off the first three games and they didn't really have much to go on compared to the games we have now.

Anyway...Enjoy The Chapter :)

Chapter 44:
Dance Contest
...
"That was a good game,"
"Yeah, says da guy who got beat by a girl."
After the soccer game, they thank Kyle and his friends for letting them play and return to their beach spot to begin packing. The sun was going down, but it was still about two hours before the sun could set. With the remain time they got let, they decide to head over to the music stand and hang out around there until the bonfire starts.
Luigi gave Roy a slightly irritated glance. "I'm sorry, Roy, but were you the one playing?"
"No, but I know I wouldn't let myself get beaten by a girl."
"It doesn't really matter who I lose to, just how."
Roy puffed. "Loser talk,"
"Is that what you say when you lose to me?" Wendy asked.
Roy glared at her. "That's different; I let ya win."
Wendy rolled her eyes. "Oh really?"
"Yes, really; I didn't want you ta feel bad or anythin' so I let ya win."
"Aww, ain't that nice?" Kassie commented. "I always knew Killjoy Roy had a heart under that tough guy act."
"Whatever," Roy turned away slightly to hid his blush. "Are we goin' or not? I suddenly need a drink."
"Yeah, yeah, we're ready." said Kassie.
Roy glances behind him to see the others were all set with their bags in hands. After adjusting her hat, Kassie walked passed him, heading towards the bar stands.
"Come on, Blushy; let's get you a drink."
~XXX~
The bar stands were right next to stand where the DJ was so the area was crowded. With a drink in hand and music in the air, the beach goers could dance and drink at the same time.
(Burn baby burn) Disco Inferno
(Burn baby burn) Burn that mother down
(Burn baby burn) Disco Inferno
(Burn baby burn) Burn that mother down
With the bar stand crowded, the foursome decided to sit somewhere on the sand. Roy stayed behind to get something to drink leaving the rest to find some place to sit. They found a spot underneath a large shady tree and pull out some towels to sit on.
Wendy was dancing in place as she sat on her towel. The pink Koopa was a big fan of disco. Her top favorite music artists involve those who had created disco – style songs.
"Well, someone's in the dancing mood," Luigi pointed out as he watch his girlfriend bounce around in her seat.
"Can't help it, I'm a huge disco fan," she replies.
Suddenly, the DJ came onto the microphone and made an announcement. "Alright, you disco beach goers, listen up; it's time we get started on the dance competition." He said. "The winner of the competition will be the ones to light the bonfire. Now, all competitors please step onto the dance floor."
The DJ put down the microphone and started playing a new song, this time with something more recent and had been number one on the music billboard.
Everybody get up
Oooh!
Everybody get up (Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey) Oh
(Hey, hey, hey) Oooh!
Turn it up
"Oh, a dance competition," Wendy cheered
"Why don't you guys enter?" Kassie suggested.
"You sure?" Wendy questioned. "We wouldn't want to leave you by yourself."
"I'll be fine. Besides; Roy should be back any minute now."
"Well, if you insist…" Wendy quickly stood up and grab Luigi's arm, forcing him up on his feet. "Come on, Luigi,"
"I don't know," Luigi said nervously. "I'm not really good that these kind of dances."
"Oh you'll be fine." She assures him. "Plus, you'll have me around to help you."
He sighs, "Okay, I'll do it."
Wendy smiled and gave him a quick kiss. She took his arm and started to drag/pull him towards the dance floor just as they were about to start. "We'll be back in a little bit,"
Kassie smiles as she watched them go. She tilts her hat forward and leans back on her towel to relax, enjoying the light breeze and the music in the air. She heard footsteps approaching her, but just assumed it was Roy. As the sound grew closer, she realized that they were the footsteps of more than one person.
"Hello, Miss"
Kassie lifts her hat up. Two Koopas were standing in front of her. They were same Koopas her and Wendy were flirting with when they pass up. She sat up to address them.
"Uhm, hello"
"My name is Kevin" said the first Koopa. "And this is my friend Kris," The second Koopa waved to her and she waved back. "We were wonder if you and your friend from earlier would like to grab a drink with us at the bar?"
"Thanks, but she's kind of spoken for already."
"Well, about you?" Kris asked. "Are you seeing anyone by any chance?"
"No," Kassie hesitated. "But there is someone I got my eye on."
At the same time, Roy was walking around the beach trying to find the others with beer in his hands. Under a tree, he spots a group of three. Thinking that was them, he heads there. As he got closer, he recognizes one of the three to be Kassie; the other two Koopas he didn't know. His eyes narrowed behind his glasses as he came up to them. As the two koopas left, Kassie notice his approach and greeted him with a smile.
"Hey Roy, how was the bar?"
"Alright, I guess," He said. "Who were those chumps?"
She shrugged. "Just a few guys Wendy and I were flirting with a while ago. They were offering to buy drinks but I decline."
For whatever reason, Roy was satisfied with the answer and sat down next to Kassie. "Speakin' o' which, where is my sister and Mustache anyways?"
"Oh they went dancing; Wendy was really into the music."
He puffed. "Figures as much, all she ever listen ta are those old disco songs. Me, on da other hand, am more of a Greaser fan."
He took a sip of his cup and offers some to Kassie. "You want?"
She shook her head. "Can't; I'm only 18."
"Oh, bummer,"
For the time being, the two just sat there watching everyone else drink and/or dance around the beach. As the dance competition went on, the crowd began to get more and more rowdy as theyform a tight circle around the finalist. This got the attention of everyone that at the bar or just sitting in the sand nearby.
"What's goin' on there?" Roy asked curiously.
"The dance competition," said Kassie. "It must be really getting good."
She stood up and took Roy's arm to help him stand up. "Come on, let's check it out,"
Roy down the rest of his beer and followed her into the crowd. As they did so, the song started to end (much to Roy's relief) and a new one begins. But even so, the crowd continued to cheer on the dancers in the middle. Roy and Kassie shove and push as they try to get through the mass of people. Once they did get to the center, their eyes widen at what they saw.
My baby moves at midnight
Goes right on till the dawn
My woman takes me higher
My woman keeps me warm
What you doin' to your rhythm ahh
What you doin' to your rhythm ahh
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
Luigi came out sliding on his knees with Wendy dancing behind him. The green koopa spins at least twice to faces his mate as they start dancing together. Everyone was cheering them on as Luigi perform some well-known classic disco moves such as the 'Face Wave' and the '(Disco) Point'. He was also spinning and lifting Wendy into the air which she seem enjoy greatly.
Roy and Kassie stood on the sidelines watching them enjoy themselves. They both knew the green plumber tends to be nervous under the spotlight, so to see him now dancing around like a disco idiot was definitely a change worth seeing.
"Damn, that plumber can dance," Roy joked.
The song faded away and the DJ came on to announce Luigi and Wendy as the winners of the dance competition. A hostess come along and presented the two with a bottle of champagne. Once they were awarded, the DJ announced that the bonfire will be light up in several minutes. At this, the crowd disperses to different directions, either to the stands or the beach until the bonfire was ready. Kassie ran up to Luigi and Wendy as Roy causally walked behind her.
"You guys were great," Kassie said.
"Yeah, plumber; who taught you how ta dance like dat?"
Luigi blushed bashfully. "I...saw a few moves on TV. Wendy encouraged me to try them out."
"And I'm glad I did," Wendy hugged him "Because in the end, it made us winners."
