Chapter 45:
A Thriller Happy Bonfire

...

It took about thirty minutes for the Bonfire to be ready. During that time, they meet up with Wendy's friends and regroup with them. Nearly everyone on the beach gather around the huge pile of wood already place on the shore.

Luigi and Wendy stood right next to the pile with a koopa holding a flaming torch. He hands it to them and they both held it in their hands. Together, they lit it in the center. In minutes the whole wood pile was up in flames.

Everyone cheered and clap drinks. Luigi and Wendy shared a kiss which was copied by other couples. Caught in the moment, Kassie leans forward and place a kiss on Roy's cheek. It was quick and unexpected. But even so, it left them both blushing heavily.

Once the bonfire was light up, the DJ resume playing music, starting with a song everyone on the beach knew. All the girls, including Kassie, gasped and screeched when they heard this song playing.

"Oh My Grambi, I love this song," Koren squealed.

"We just have to dance to it," said Kohanna. "Come on,"

Wendy and her friends grabbed their mates and lead/drag them to the dance floor, leaving only Kassie and Roy alone. The purple koopa sighed and glances over to Kassie. She was looking at him as well. He frowned,

"What?"

She smiled slightly, "Can you be my dance partner?"

He groaned, "You too,"

"Please, Roy; I really like this song."

"You and every girl here,"

Kassie frowned and turn away from him, disappointment written all over. Roy frowned himself; he didn't like to see her sad. A girl like her should always have a board smile on her face. He sighed deeply,

"Fine, I'll be your partner."

Kassie beamed and pull him into a hug. "Thank you, Roy,"

Roy blushed slightly, unsure what to do. He was used to Wendy giving him hugs, but not another girl. After a few seconds, Kassie release him and basically drag him to the dance floor with surprising strength.

"Come on, they just start dancing,"

A lot of beachgoers stood on the wooden floor, stepping to the first dance moves to the song. They were all spread about a foot between one another to give each other enough room. Kassie and Roy quickly took their spots. Kassie started stepping, raising her right shoulder, and jerking her head.

Roy just gave her a blank look, debating on whether or not he should back out. He sighed and started raising his shoulder and jerking his head like everyone else was doing.

It's close to midnight
Something evil's lurkin' in the dark
Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed

'Cause this is thriller!
Thriller night!
And no one's gonna save you
From the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller!
Thriller night...
You're fighting for your life
Inside a killer
Thriller tonight, yeah.

It was Wendy who taught him how to dance to this song. Even though he hated every minute of it, he still remembers how it went.

You hear the door slam
And realize there's nowhere left to run
You feel the cold hand
And wonder if you'll ever see the sun
You close your eyes
And hope that this is just imagination
Girl, but all the while
You hear a creature creepin' up behind
You're outta time

'Cause this is thriller!
Thriller night!
There ain't no second chance
to fight the thing with the forty eyes, girl
(Thriller...)
(Thriller night!)
You're fighting for your life
Inside a killer
Thriller tonight

For the next five minutes, Roy, as well as everyone else on the dance floor, moved their bodies like dancing zombies. When it finally ended, Roy let out a sigh of relief. Another song started playing, one more recent and had been number one on the music billboards as well.

It might seem crazy what I'm 'bout to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way

Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

Roy groaned. He hated this song more than the other one. Mainly because they kept repeating the same word over and over again, for like a 100 times or something. He moved to sit down but Kassie grabbed his hand and pulled him back on the dance floor.

"Come on, Roy, dance with me," she said, almost dancing with excitement.

Roy frowned; he didn't want to dance anymore, especially to this song. Unfortunately, Kassie was reluctant to let him go any time soon so he had no choice but to kept on dancing.

Here come bad news talking this and that
Yeah, give me all you got, don't hold back
Yeah, well I should probably warn you I'll be just fine
Yeah, no offense to you don't waste your time
Here's why

Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

He moved his body lazily and slow. No one questioned about it; they were too busy dancing to care or notice. Kassie was partially bouncing to the beat and seem to be enjoying herself. Roy smiled slightly at the fact that she was having fun, even if he wasn't.
