Hey guys ^^ This is my first Shicca one-shot. Shiki and Rebecca are really adorable, and I ship them :) Here's a little one-shot, hope you like it.
Shiki's P.O.V
After reaching Universe Zero, we're all finally reunited with each other. I felt so happy. My friends meant everything to me, I felt that as the New Demon King no scratch that, as their friend, I wanted to do something for my crewmates. I thought and thought before I got an idea as to what I can do. I looked at Pino who was busy pulling Happy's cheeks.
"So Happy is an exceed and not a robot in this universe?" Pino asked as she continued to pull at Happy's cheeks.
"Yup" I said as I kneeled next to them.
"Wfino, weft wo of me" Happy said, as he tried to stop Pino from pulling his cheeks. I chuckled at their antics and placed my hand on Pino's head, effectively gaining her attention.
"Pino, can you ask everyone on the ship to gather at the lobby?" I said and Pino nodded.
Pino connected to everyone and asked them to gather at the lobby.
"Shiki, why did you ask everyone to gather at the lobby" Happy asked as he looked at me with his big wide eyes.
I patted his head and picked him and Pino off the floor and held them in my arms.
"You'll know pretty soon, let's also go to the lobby alright?" I said as he nodded, and I started walking towards the lobby.
Once at the lobby, I set Happy and Pino down as I waited for everyone to gather. Within the next 5 minutes, everyone gathered around me.
"Yo Shiki, why did you ask us to gather here? What's the matter?" Weisz asked as he stood next to Homura and Hermit.
"Yeah Shiki, what's the matter? Is everything alright?" Rebecca asked as she looked at me with worry etched on her face. Other members also looked at me with a mixture of worry and confusion showing on their faces.
I grinned at them before walking towards Rebecca and placing my hands on her shoulder.
"Everything's fine Rebecca, relax" I said as I stood next to her and looked at everyone.
"The reason I asked everyone to come is because, I wanted to give something to you all" I said ginning at them.
"You want to give us something?" Rebecca asked as she looked at me with hands joined together and excitement visible on her face.
"What do you want to give? Where is it? Where are you hiding it?" Rebecca asked as she held my face in her hands before squishing it. I blushed at the contact and my heart raced as I held Rebecca's hands that were on my face. I removed her hands from my face but didn't let it go. I held her left hand in my right hand and turned towards the others as my heart continued to beat fast as I still held Rebecca's hands.
"I wanted to give you all my promise" I said and smiled at my crewmates/friends.
"Promise?" Hermit asked and I nodded.
"Yes, a promise. You all know that I would never break my promise, right?" I asked and they all nodded, as confusion was still present on their faces.
"Stop beating around the bush and tell us what the matter is already" Jinn said as he folded his arms.
"I wanted to promise you all that no matter what happens in the future, I will protect and care for all of you. Sure, as time goes on, we might all separate and pursue different goals, just like the way the 4 shinning stars separated once Ziggy decided to settle down in Granbell to take care of me. I promise to protect every one of you for at least as long as we rescue Mother" I said and grinned at them and squeezed Rebecca's hand that was still in mine while I looked at my friends.
Everyone looked at me stunned and there was pin drop silence. I internally freaked out "Did I say something wrong" I thought as I continued to look at them.
Sister was the first to recover and placed her left hand on my shoulder as she looked at me "My my, our Demon king sure has grown up" she said as she ruffled my hair before giving me a smile.
"Then let me promise you, I will do everything I can as well to protect everyone as long as I am on this ship" Homura said as she smiled at me.
"Yeah, we promise the same too" everyone said except Rebecca and placed their hands on top of one another in front me as a gesture of promise. I smiled at them and placed my hand along with Rebecca's hand on top of their hands.
"It's a promise" Witch said, smiling softly. Rebecca was the first to remove her hand, I looked at her and she smiled at me, but her smile seemed fake and it worried me. Something definitely was wrong, but before I could ask anything, she waved her hand and walked away.
"Alright, to celebrate our union and our promise, let's hold a party later on" Weisz said and I nodded with a grin, taking my hand away as the others did the same.
"Alright, then let's prepare for the party" Happy cheered as everyone started taking up tasks and helping one another to prepare for the party.
I excused myself and walked towards Rebecca's room, worried about her.
I knocked on her door before pressing the button on the side, once the door was open, I walked in. Rebecca was seated near the window, staring out as fishes floated outside. Rebecca looked at me as I walked closer to her.
"Are you alright Rebecca?" I asked as I took a seat next to her. She stopped facing the window and instead turned towards me.
"Yup, I'm perfectly fine" she said as she smiled at me. Her smile was real but didn't quite reach her eyes. I sighed and looked at her, placing my hands on her shoulders, I said "You do know you can talk to me about anything and everything right? Please tell me what's bothering you and I'll fix it for you."
"Fix it huh?" She murmured and I looked at her confused.
Rebecca removed my hands that were on her shoulders before standing up and walking towards the window.
"Shiki, you always keep your promise, right?" She asked, still facing the window as colorful fishes floated in space.
I got up and walked towards her and also looked out the window before looking towards Rebecca, she was already looking at me, so I smiled and said "Yup, even if it means I have to give up my life."
"Shiki, I know everyone on this ship is your friend. Am I the same as them too?" Rebecca asked and I looked at her confused.
"Of course, Rebecca! You are my friend. My first friend and my first partner on this journey. Oh no! Did I do something wrong that made you doubt our friendship?" I asked panicked that I might have said or done something wrong. The last thing I wanted was to lose someone's friendship, especially not Rebecca's.
"Chill Shiki, that is not what I meant. I meant, am I friends like them or closer than them? As in, am I a friend like them or am I your best friend?" Rebecca asked, now fully turning towards me and looking at me, while pink blush colored her cheeks.
At her question, I felt my heartbeat quicken. Friend like others or closer? Of course, she was closer than the others. Closer than she thought, so close that my heartbeat quickened every time she got closer or looked at me with those big beautiful blue eyes. I had fallen in love with her and here she was, wondering if she's my best friend. I smiled as I looked at her.
"You are definitely closer than others Rebecca. You're definitely my best friend" I said, and her smile brightened, making my heart skip a beat and a blush to form on my face.
"So, can I ask you for one more promise?" She asked as a small blush formed on her face and she looked at her feet. My breathe caught in my throat at her cuteness. I cleared my throat before speaking.
"Sure, anything for you. What promise do you want me to give you?" I asked as I thought 'I can give you everything I have to offer'. This girl came into my life and changed my whole life around. She was the reason I got to make so many friends, the reason I even was on this journey. She was my starting point, my everything. There was nothing that I wouldn't do for her.
"Can I- can I always be with you? Can you promise to always be with me? You said in the lobby that after saving Mother, each of us will go on separate journey, right? Can I come with you? I just... I just don't want to be separated from you, Shiki" she said as she took a few steps forward and hugged me.
I was startled for a moment as my heart pounded like crazy and then hugged her back. She sobbed and I tightened my hold on her, placing my chin on her crown.
"I don't want to be separated from you either Rebecca, I promise, to always be with you" I said, and she pulled away enough to look at my face.
"Do you mean it? Can I always stay with you? Always?" She asked, her cheeks reddened, and she looked at me, her eyes shining with unshed tears. My heart skipped several beats.
I placed my right hand on her cheeks as I still held her waist with my left hand. This time, instead of promising with words, I slowly bent my head, giving her enough time to back away, but instead of backing away like I half expected her to do, she closed her eyes and inched closer. I smiled and closed my eyes, our lips finally meeting, and I felt sparks fly throughout my body.
Our lips slowly moved, as my heartbeat increased and my stomach did a somersault. Rebecca's hand moved from my back into my hair as she pulled at my hair, I growled. I pulled her closer by her waist and licked her lips, wanting to deepen the kiss. Rebecca obliged and opened her mouth as my tongue immediately entered her warm cavern as our tongues battled for dominance. We pulled away after what felt like an eternity, due to lack of oxygen and looked at each other. A thin string of saliva connecting our lips. I gulped as I wiped my mouth and hers with the back of my sleeves and touched her forehead with mine and smiled at her.
"Is that promise convincing enough" I asked breathlessly, Rebecca nodded and closed her eyes, breathing heavily.
"Is that really your first kiss? Where did you learn to kiss like that" She asked as she locked her hands around my neck. I blushed at her question.
"Weisz showed me some videos" I muttered, and Rebecca laughed at that.
"Wow! You learned to kiss just by watching a video?" She asked and I nodded watching her as her cheeks were flushed and an adorable smile decorated her face.
"I like you, Rebecca" I said as I snaked my hands around her waist and pulled her closer to me.
She looked startled for a moment before she smiled a big smile.
"I like you too Shiki" she said as she pressed her lips to mine once again.
After we pulled apart for much needed air, I held her hand and brought to towards my pounding heart and placed it on my chest.
"I promise you Rebecca, to always be with you, to love you, to protect you, to keep you Happy and to always be there for you no matter what. I promise" I said and grinned at her.
"I promise the same Shiki, I will always be with you, love you, protect you and be there for you when you need me. I promise" she said and smiled that oh so beautiful smile of hers before hugging me.
"I promise"
