Author's Note:

I deleted this chapter the other day, hoping to make some changes to the Koopaling birth order. When I first organized, I only paid attention to the order they gave me on the Koopalings web page on Super Mario wiki and on some other people fanfics. After that I haven't look at it for weeks until aPAULo17 pointed out that Lemmy was one of the youngest. So I went ahead, did some more thorough research and corrected it.

The chapter's pretty much the same, but the order of the Koopalings are more accurate (at least I hoped so.) You can re-read this if you want to, or just skip to the next chapter.

Enjoy The Chapter :)

Chapter 47:
Beach Aftermath

...

The night was still and calm with the moon shining bright in the dark sky. After leaving the beach, Luigi, Wendy, Roy, and Kassie were all walking back to the meeting tree. Wendy and Kassie were walking together, talking among themselves with Luigi and Roy trailed behind them.

"So, Roy," Luigi said. "You and Kassie seem to get along well,"

Roy shrugged. "Yeah, so?"

"So...I think you might have a thing for her other than being friends."

He raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you say dat?"

"Well," Luigi started. "For instance, you admit to me that you like her."

He scoffed. "Yea, like a month ago,"

"Three weeks exactly,"

"Whatever, are you done?"

"Not quite," Luigi said. "You're nice to her, and I do mean more so than normal; you actually were willing to dance with her, you let her rest on your shoulder, plus…" He gave him a smirk. "You haven't stopped staring at her since we left the beach."

Roy growled under his breath and turned his gaze on the ground. "And here I thought you were a plumber, not a Detective"

Luigi shrugged. "It helps to be observant,"

"Humph, you mean nosy,"

"If that's what you want to call it, fine."

A silence ran between the two was they continue on the path back home. After a few minutes, Roy looked up from the ground and broke the silence.

"You really think I should go fo' it?" He asked softly.

Luigi nodded. "I do, and so does Wendy."

He sighed. "I shoulda known dis was her idea."

"Well, she did have some help." Luigi smiled.

"Of course," Roy smirked. "After all, you are her little disco dancing, love sick puppy."

Luigi didn't say anything as redness appeared around his cheeks. Fortunately for him, it was too dark for anyone to see it. Before long, they made it back to the tree.

Meanwhile...while the boys were talking, the girls were having a bit of a chit chat of their own.

"So Kassie," Wendy said. "You and Roy get along pretty well."

"Yup," Kassie replies. "Although I did have to plead with him a bit to get him to dance with me,"

"Yeah, Roy's not really the dancing type. There's a few times were I had to plead with him myself. But in the end, he'll do anything for the people he cares about."

Kassie flushed slightly. "You think he cares about me?"

Wendy smiled. "Of course, he's just too stubborn to admit." She glances behind her to see her brother talking to Luigi. "Trust me, I know Roy more than anyone else; I can tell when he really cares about someone."

Kassie cast her head down, taking in her words. They walked in silence for a few minutes, before Kassie look up and spoke in a small voice.

"You think he might give me a shot, I mean beside me being a Toad and all" She asked.

"It will take some time to get use to, but I'm sure he'll get over it." Wendy smiled. "Plus, you're different from the other Toads. For one thing, you're a lot braver and a tomboy which is a good combination when it comes to my brother."

"So, you're saying I'm off to a good start."

"Pretty much, yeah,"

...

...

When the group of four finally made it back to the tree, it was then they had to split ways. But before they could separate, Roy asked to speak with Kassie…in private. Feeling both excited and nervous, Kassie walked over to where he stood, a few feet away from the tree out of hearing range.

"Is something wrong, Roy?" she asked him.

He shook his head. "No, jus' wanna ask you something."

"Oh?" Kassie stood up straight and cross her arms behind her back. "And what do you want to ask me?"

Roy rubbed the back of his head, feeling a bit nervous. Like Wendy, he wasn't use to asking others out. King Dad had a big influence on their love life, setting them up with suitors and suitresses of high social classes. He had dated a few of those suitresses, yes. But they were all too (what's a nice way of saying it?)... fancy for his taste.

Ludwig seemed to be doing alright though; he had narrowed his choices down to size and out of that smaller list, Kanary seem to be the winner. Morton only dated a few times, but other than that he didn't seem to care much. Wendy had been having problems finding the right suitor, until she hooked up with Luigi.

Larry and Junior still have a few years to go before they're introduce to the wonderful world of courting, while Lemmy and Iggy had just eight short months left before they turn eighteen. Although Iggy was talking to someone online so he might hook up with a girl between that time.

"Roy?"

He blinked in confusion and refocused his attention on the person in front of him, who was looking at him with concern.

"Sorry," he apologized "I'm sort o' new ta dis,"

Kassie's look of concern turned to one of curiosity. "New to what?"

"Askin' girls out,"

Kassie beamed. "Like on a date?"

"Yea', sure," He turned his gaze to the side and cross his arms. "Dat is, if you want. I mean it's your choose after all."

Kassie giggled at Roy's nervousness, which cause him to growl in annoyance. He turned to probably yell at her. But before he could get a word out, he was quickly silence by a quick kiss on the lips.

He stood there with his eyes widen, mouth slightly agape, and his cheeks completely red. Kassie lean back, her cheeks red as well but with a smile on her face.

"I would love to go out with you, Roy." She said. "I'm free tomorrow for lunch, how about we met up then."

Roy simply nodded. Kassie smile and turn back to the tree where the others stood watching them. Wendy had already transformed Luigi back to a human and now it was Kassie's turn.

Once that was done, they say their good-byes and headed back to their respective home. As they walked towards the castle, Wendy stood close to Roy with an all too knowing smile on her face.

"So, Roy," she started. "Didn't I say you'll have a good time?"

Roy glanced at his sister before turning back to the path ahead of them. He gave her his usual casual shrug.

"Yeah, I guess yur right."

Once Luigi and Kassie got to Toad Town, they headed towards the castle where Kassie lives. As soon as they got there, Kassie turn to the plumber beside her.

"Thanks again for inviting me, Luigi; I had a great time."

"I'm glad you enjoy it, Kassie." Luigi said.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow,"

Kassie waves good-bye to the plumber as she heads for the double castle doors where two Toad Guards were half-guarding-half-sleeping in front of. Once she disappeared behind the door, Luigi turn and left for home himself.
