So that's why I wrote this chapter, It's pretty much entirely Loki/Luna fluff and cuteness and ominous endings…MWAHAHAHAHA ENJOY!
It was something new, something strange, something not right. It was quiet.
"Has anyone seen Luna?" Amy asked in a lightly worried tone as she stepped out of the elevator and into the living room, "I've looked all over and I can't find her."
"What about her room? Did you check there?" Natasha suggested.
Amy turned back towards the elevator,
"I'll check now," the doors shut behind her and she pressed one of the buttons on the large panel for the floor that hosted everyone's rooms.
The elevator came to a halt, dinging as its doors opened so that the time-traveler could walk out into the hallway. She opened a door with the number 16 on it in small, silvery blue print and was immediately greeted with a blast of sticky humid air.
Luna's room was almost pitch black with only a few slivers of light peeking out of the black curtains that covered her large windows, shielding her view of the outside world. Her TV was turned onto a channel that was merely static, sending a low buzzing sound through the room. And then, there was the demon herself. She lay in the middle of the bed in a nest of blankets, sheets, and pillows with tangled blue hair and pale skin pale.
"Luna!" Amy cried in shock, rushing to the girl's side, "What's the matter with you?"
"M…Maya…" she groaned as she opened her watery eyes tiredly, revealing that her pupils had widened almost completely, making them appear almost totally black except for the foggy blue rims, "When did you get here? I thought you were with the 60s…" she slurred.
Amy shook her head,
"No, I'm Amy. Maya went back to Charles-"
"DON'T LIE TO ME YOU WORM!" Luna suddenly shrieked, hitting the ginger in the face with a pillow, "I KNOW YOU'RE YOU!"
Seeing as there was no point in convincing Luna that she wasn't Maya, she simply sighed and kneeled down by the girl,
"Are you sick or something?"
Luna nodded,
"Yeah…I think I have 'Revertere Pater Vult'" she told her.
"And what does that do?"
Luna looked away from Amy, refusing to make eye contact with her,
"It…It's REALLY bad."
"How bad?"
"Like, REALLY bad. It's been happening for a while now."
"Why didn't you tell us?!"
"I didn't want to worry any of you."
"Luna! You're seriously sick! You need to tell us these things!"
The blue haired girl shrank away, hugging her blankets closer,
"I'm sorry…"
"There's a cure, right?"
Luna nodded,
"Yes, of course there is."
"Where is it? The others and I can go find it. How long do you have left until you're uncurable?"
"A few days maybe if I'm lucky. Maybe less."
"Just tell me what the cure is," Amy repeated.
Luna sighed,
"You may want to take some notes on this."
"I've locked down all the exits in the tower so don't try anything, you got it?" Tony snapped at Loki as he joined everyone in the TARDIS.
Loki gave an annoyed huff,
"I truly do not see any logic in why I shouldn't go with the rest of you instead of staying here."
"Well, lets see," Tony said, "For one, you're a prisoner here, and, oh yeah, we don't like you," the Iron Man smirked, quickly shutting the doors and leaving the god standing in the living room as the blue box disappeared to wherever the cure for Luna's sickness was kept.
True, Loki was angered at having to be left alone with a psychopath, but there was no use making a fuss.
He headed to Luna's room, best he checked in on her to see if she needed anything first thing and then just let her be.
"Luna?" he asked quietly as he entered her room, "Luna, where are you?"
"Meeeeeeeeeeeeh," he turned around just in time for a weary Luna to fall into him, "I don't feel good."
Loki looked down at the tired girl, picking her up in his arms,
"I know, just go back to sleep," he told her, though he wasn't entirely sure she was listening.
He placed her on the bed, bringing the covers up to her chin, only for her to immediately kick them off,
"Luna, you need to stay under the covers, try to sweat this out," the god told her.
"It's to hooot!" she complained.
He leaned down slightly to place a hand to her forehead, feeling the burning temperature festering on her skin's surface. Luna perked up slightly, taking his wrist and pulling it to cover her face, sighing contently,
"You're so cold! Like a giant ice pack!" she giggled.
Loki made a move to pull his hand off her face, but in a flash Luna hand yanked him down onto the bed next to her much to Loki's surprise. Hurriedly he stood back up, walking out of the room,
"I'll get you some water, alright?" he told the blue head.
She smiled, waving him goodbye slightly,
"Okay! Be back soon!" she said, not minding that her cold-source had left her.
In fact, Loki began to think, nothing seemed to really faze her at all. She just enjoyed her life, going with her own flow, not really caring about what people thought of her. Carefree and excited seemed to be her permanent mood. He would hate to lose that.
Immediately after getting the water he went back to Luna's room. Only to find that she wasn't there.
"LUNA!" he yelled, covering his worry with annoyance. He set the water down on a bedside table before rushing out to begin his search for her when he heard her voice coming from her bathroom.
"Lokiiii!" he heard her shout.
He opened up the door to find the demon girl laying in the large bathtub clad in a grey and black bathing suit with her arm draped lazily out of the almost over-flowing water.
"Loki, I can't reach the bubble stuff!" she pouted, pointing to the bath salts by the sink.
The god grabbed the package and gave it to Luna, the girl quickly dumping all its contents into the bath, creating more than enough bubbles.
"I don't think you were supposed to put that much in," Loki said, taking the now empty package and dropping it into the trashcan.
Luna shrugged,
"Oh well. Count for me, okay?" she commanded, leaving no time for Loki to question what to count for when she disappeared under the bubbles.
Loki sighed, giving a small smile and began to count the seconds quietly to himself,
"One, two, three, four, five…"
When he hit a minute, he felt an itch of worry in the back of his mind. He knew that Luna was connected to water and that she could hold her breath for quite a while, but she was sick and her body wasn't working correctly.
He quickly rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt, clearing the bubbles away from where he imagined Luna's head would be.
And sure enough, there she was. She had her arms resting peacefully on her stomach with her eyes shut as if she were sleeping…or she had drowned.
Loki's arm shot beneath the water, Luna's glassy eyes opening the moment he made contact with her element.
Her mouth opened, silvery bubbles streaming to the surface. Loki smiled, leaning over the demon's form, so close that if he moved the tiniest bit he would feel the warmth of the water cover his face.
Luna floated upwards, aqua hair spiraling around her in ripples of blues and greens until she was face to face with Loki, the only thing in between them the surface
For a moment, Loki was tempted to kiss her. She was undeniably beautiful as she rested beneath the sheet of water, long tendrils of hair curling around her body, their colors vibrant against her tan skin.
But the spell on the god was broken when Luna slipped out of the water, now sitting with her head and half of her shoulders out of the tub.
"So?"
Loki shook his head slightly, washing Luna's trance from his mind,
"Pardon?"
"How long was I under for?"
He quickly made and estimate,
"Four minutes and thirty-seven seconds."
Luna sighed,
"I should be able to stay under for…well, forever," she laughed slightly, but she started coughing towards the end of it, "Whatever, I need to do my hair-oh!" she stuttered when she felt that Loki had taken it upon himself to do her hair.
The demon gave out a small breath of content, closing her eyes and relaxing as Loki massaged the shampoo through her hair until it was sudsy with mint-scented bubbles.
"Go under again," Loki told Luna, and once again she sunk beneath the water, a few of the suds washing out. Loki dipped his hands into the tub to meet Luna's hair, running his fingers through it to get rid of the excess shampoo. When done, he slipped a hand around to the top middle of her back and brought her out of the water.
"Thanks," she told him with a small smile before pointing behind him, "Can you get me a towel?"
He nodded, sitting up from his place on the floor to fetch one for her,
"Here you are."
She slowly stood up, only to slip and give out a high-pitched yelp.
Loki reacted in a quick flash, scooping her up into his arms and out of the bath before she could come crashing down.
"Are you alright?" he questioned, giving her a once-over to make sure she hadn't hurt herself.
She bobbed her head up and down,
"Yeah, I just think I bit my lip."
Loki looked at her mouth. Sure enough, in her fear she had punctured her lip with one of her sharp teeth to leave a streak of blood that dribbled down her chin. Sitting her down on the edge of the bath he quickly wrapped the towel around her shoulders, before muttering a spell under his breath. A gust of warm wind surrounded Luna, and she was suddenly dry thanks to Loki's vast knowledge of spells.
"Not touching," he told her, taking her stray hand that had been about to touch the wound in his and placing it on her lap.
Luna's face crinkled slightly with concern,
"Is it bad?"
Loki shook his head,
"No, you bled a lot but it's stopped now."
Luna's tongue darted out of her mouth, running it along her bottom lip to taste the salty crimson,
"Is it all gone now?" she questioned.
"No," Loki replied. He ran his thumb swiftly over her chin, removing the blood from her skin, "You're fine now. It will heal soon-"
He was interrupted by Luna letting out a loud yawn,
"Meh…I'm sleepy," she told him. She stood up, letting the towel drop around her feet as she headed back into her room with Loki following behind her.
She didn't bother changing into pajamas, instead simply jumping onto the bed, shoving all the covers into piles to make a sort of nest. She settled down, resting her head on one of the soft lumpy piles.
When he saw that she was dosing off, Loki turned away from her to walk out the door. But then he felt a sudden yank on his arm, and once again he felt himself falling down next to Luna.
He chuckled softly,
"Still to warm? Or do you just enjoy me being around?"
She opened up a nearly completely black eye sleepily, giving a small shrug of her shoulders before shutting her eyes again.
Loki huffed, knowing she wouldn't give him an answer as she drifted off to sleep; the smallest of smiles hovering on her features.
"LUNA! LOKI! WE GOT THE MEDS!" Tony yelled as he stepped out of the TARDIS with the others behind him, each sporting bruises and the strange odor of snakes.
Amy looked around the living room,
"Huh, I thought they would have been in here, I guess not…"
Clara started walking towards the elevator,
"Maybe they're in their rooms?"
Rose shrugged,
"Maybe. Amy, Sam, you come with me and Clara to check out the rooms, the rest of you…just rest," Rose clearly could tell that the group of superheroes and time travels were tired after they traveled across Canada hunting the rare two-headed blue alpaca swamp monster for it's milk that, apparently, could cure any disease. As long as it rhymed with the words cult or penguin of course!
The four headed down to Luna's room, Clara quickly knocking on the door,
"Luna? Are you in there?" when none of them heard an answer, the newest addition to the Doctor's companions opened the door.
When they saw what the room contained, their eyes opened with shock and surprise before Rose gave out and excited giggle,
"Oh my god, they're so cute!" she squealed.
Luna and Loki lay on the sheet less bed together sleeping soundly. The god was on his back, left arm across his stomach while his right had tightly wrapped itself around Luna's shoulders. The demon had opted for squeezing herself into a tight ball, her head resting on Loki's chest with her knees poking lightly into his side, and finally her fluffy tail which she'd grown out in her sleep curling around her like a blanket.
Amy sighed,
"So adorable. Well then Sammy, go wake her up would you?" she told the moose.
"What? Why do I have to wake them up?" he asked with confusion.
The sassy ginger flicked her hand in the air, as if swatting away the question,
"It's a girl thing, you wouldn't understand!"
Sam, of course, really didn't want to hear about 'girl things' so he quickly shuffled towards the bed,
"Guys! Get up!" he nudged their sleeping forms awkwardly, "Guys! We got Luna's creepy alpaca milk!"
Loki opened his eyes first, taking one glance at the moose and time travelers before standing up,
"I'll be going to my room now," he told the four before turning to see the barely-awake blue head, "And Luna, I do hope you feel better soon," and with that he swiftly exited the room.
Luna slowly sat up, eyes only halfway open,
"Just give me the milk. And a phone!" she told the four when Sam handed her the small vial of milk. She looked at them questioningly, "You only got this much?"
"I swear, it had rabies!" Rose told her.
Luna face-palmed,
"You didn't give it the money, did you?"
Clara looked dumbfounded,
"What?"
The blue-haired girl's eyes widened,
"Oh my god! The two-headed blue swamp alpaca is an intelligent being that understands what money is, you can't just milk it and run! Great, now my friends are robbers!" she scolded them.
Sam raised an eyebrow in disbelief,
"Robbers don't come close to creepy demon children!"
Luna huffed, blowing a string of minty hair from her face,
"Whatever," she opened up the vial, hurriedly drinking the milk. She shuddered, "Uuuuuuuuuuuueeegh! That is the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted!" she complained as her eyes brightened and pupils shrunk to their normal colors and size, "But, I feel better," she smiled, "Now out! I have to make a phone call!" she suddenly exclaimed, pushing the four out the doors.
Amy sighed,
"Oh fine, we'll leave you to rest, but after this," she grinned, "But when you're done…we MUST talk about what happened with you and Loki when we were gone!" she giggled, closing the door behind her leaving Luna alone in her room.
She huffed angrily, snatching up her phone from her bedside table and punching in the numbers. She held the object up to her ear, hearing it ring. Once…twice-
"Luna?"
The demon growled angrily,
"Daddy. What was that?"
The hell king's angry breath sounded angrily on the other end of the line, the sound of harsh static,
"Luna, why aren't you dead?"
"Vult rhymes with cult. I remembered the alpaca's and my friends got me the milk so I'm all better now," she informed her father.
"What?! Luna, come home this instant young lady!"
The girl stomped her foot,
"No! I told you, I want to stay here!"
The static sound increased,
"Luna your coronation is in two months! You must come home-"
"I told you NO! I don't want to be king!" she yelled angrily.
"Luna you've been in that mortal dimension for almost two years now, and I don't like those people you've been living with!"
"Dad you've never even met them, they're my best friends and I love each and every one of them! Please please please let me stay here with them! I-I don't want to be a king!"
The line was silent for a few moments before the voice returned through the speakers,
"…I'll see you on your birthday. Your brothers and sisters will be coming too. If I like these…friends of yours I just may consider letting you extend your stay with them."
Luna squealed with joy,
"OHMYGOD thank you SO much! I promise you, they're the most amazing people EVER!"
"Alright sweetie, I'll see you soon. I love you."
"Love you too Daddy!"
The line went dead, Luna tossing the phone on her bed and jumping up and down excitedly. Her father would be coming soon.
