It has become so much easier to write this ever since we made it to this arc. This is where Fairy Tail starts to become more fun to read and write.

Chapter 10:Shall we go to war?

(Couple months back)

"Oh? So you are giving me the Jupiter Canon?" Jose said as he held a blueprint. He was currently sitting in his office with two visitors from Grimoire heart.

"Yes, our master wanted to assist you in destroying Fairy Tail." The man known as Zansai, said.

"And we are going to help you. I can't wait to taste the blood of the fairies." The man known as Tai said.

(Fairy Tail)

"Master! We should-Pffr!" Natsu said as he was punched in the top of the head knocking him out once again. Ryu, and Erza had returned and had seen the damage to the guild.

"Yo! Ryu! Thanks for calming down, Natsu." Master said as everyone sweatdropped.

"More like knocked out…." Everyone thought.

"Master! Phantom have desecrated our guild!" Erza, said as Makarov laughed.

"Phantom, huh? Is this all that those losers are capable of? Bwahahahah!" A tick mark appeared on Erza's head, but she calmed down when, Ryu put his hand on her shoulder.

"Yo, Nii-san!" Ryu turned around only to get tackled by a blue blur, which would've happened if he hadn't lifted up his foot. Shio, on the other hand smashed into his older brothers foot.

"Ne, Nii-san! Accept a hug from your beloved younger brother!" Everyone watched as Ryu held back his brother comically.

"Otouto, compose yourself." Ryu said as Shio grinned. "Good to see you're alive how did that mission go?"

"Mah, it went well, I mean sure we met a demon, and I turned into some devil form, but I can explain later." Ryu, nodded and surveyed the room as a small weight collided with his body. He looked down to see Hikari, and her demon.

"Welcome back, Ryu-sama!" Hikari said cheerfully as Ryu, patted her on the head. He looked up and nodded his head as greetings towards Team Natsu.

"Mira-san, do you know why no one is injured?" Ryu asked as Erza walked up next to him.

"Yes, now that I think about it, no one is hurt." She said as she looked around.

"Well, that is, because they attacked at night when no one was around."

"Ryu!" Makarov yelled as everyone in the guild looked over at him.

"Yes, Master?"

"Phantom Lord might do something so come up with something while I sleep." Makarov then suddenly fell asleep as everyone sweatdropped. Then they looked to Ryu, who sighed at their Masters childish behavior.

"Spend the next couple of days in groups, that is all."

(Roads of Magnolia)

"Thanks for coming home with us, Shio-kun." Mira, said as the devilslayer grinned happily.

"Mah, mah no problem, Mira-chan! Hikari-chan and I will help you guys out!" He said as a happy Hikari ran alongside him and Mira. Her little demon stayed on top of her head as she ran around twirling.

Trailing behind them were Lisanna, and Elfman watching the devilslayer and their sister talk. They watched as Mira, giggled as Shio said something as Hikari ran around.

"They look like they are married with a child." Lisanna said with a blush as Elfman nodded.

"Shio-nii is a true man!" Elfman yelled as Shio turned around and gave him a thumbs up.

"Ne, Shio-sama, where is Ryu-sama?" Hikari, said as Shio closed his eyes. He then opened them tilting his head to the side.

"Meh, I forgot." He said as everyone facefaulted.

"Still an airhead like usual." Lisann said as Elfman sweatdropped.

"Eh, at least we know it's Shio-nii."

(Lucy)

"I'm so happy that I joined Fairy Tail." Lucy said as she walked towards her apartment as Plue was walking in front of her.

"I just know in my heart that-" As she opened her door.

"Hi, Lucy!" Erza, Natsu, and Gray said along with Happy with a platter of food.

"What the heck!?" Lucy yelled as she comically threw her luggage at, Natsu. Erza, sipped some of her tea as she spoke.

"Since, Phantom attacked that must mean they are here."

"That also could mean that they are aware of our living places." Gray said as Lucy widened her eyes. "So just like Ryu-san said we should stay in groups."

"Ah, I see." Lucy said as Natsu was sulking in the corner. "Say, do you guys know who is with who?" She asked as Erza, put down her cup.

"We'll, Shio-kun and Hikari-chan are staying with Mira, which is no surprise. Levy has Team Shadowgear and we are with you."

"Where is Ryu-san?"

"He's on the roof." Gray said

"Oh? Why doesn't he come in?" She asked as Natsu stopped sulking in his corner.

"Ryu-nii has always preferred to be alone." He said as Erza nodded.

"Yes, the best way I can describe it would that he is far, but close by."

"Oh! Erza-san, can I ask about your relationship with Ryu-san?" Lucy said with puppy dog eyes as Erza looked away blushing.

"Well, I would say that we aren't too sure yet. I mean we have slept in the same bed." Erza said as a certain person outside almost fell off the roof.

"What!" Everyone said as a certain cat was digging through Lucy's laundry.

"Anyhow, Natsu you and Gray need to take a bath now." Erza, said as Natsu frowned.

"But, I'm too tired….."

"Do you want me to personally bathe you guys like when we were younger?" Erza, said as Gray and Natsu ran into the bathroom.

(Outside)

Ryu, stood on top of Lucy's roof and looked over the large city. He had overheard the conversation inside of Lucy's apartment and almost fell off the roof.

"Fairy Tail really is impacting me." He thought as he sat down and closed his eyes.

(Mira's room)

Shio, currently looked out the window without a shirt on. He looked over at Mira, who was asleep in bed.

"Who would've thought that our lives would become like this." He never did expect them to have a life like this. He always thought that they would be fighting and they would be killing. He then felt something with malicious intent inside the city.

"Shio-kun? What's wrong?" He turned around to see Mira, rubbing her eyes.

"Nothing Mira-chan."

(Ryu)

"Ryu." Erza said as said person stood on lookout.

"What is it, Erza."

"Are you gonna come in?"

"Yeah, I might as well." Ryu said as he stood up. Erza, smiled.

"Feeling cold out here?"

"I don't think its possible for a Fire Devil to feel cold Erza." He said in a sarcastic tone. Erza, hummed and walked up to Ryu and gave him a peck on the lips.

"Well then, let's go in." She said as he half smiled. As he followed her in Lucy waved at him as he nodded as his greeting.

As everyone sat down around the table, Lucy decided to ask a question. "I wonder why Phantom decided to attack like that."

"We've had small fights and skirmishes, but we have not had something like this before." Erza said.

"If the old man wasn't such a coward we'd just beat them down." Natsu said as Ryu sighed.

"It is forbidden by law and you know that, Natsu." Ryu, said as he huffed.

"Besides Master, knows what the aftermath would be." Gray explained. "He wouldn't let this stand normally, but he is bound by law and he worries about what would happen to us."

"I believe that they are equal to us in offensive strength, Their master is a Wizard Saint just like ours and they have a group known as the Elemental Four." Erza said. "We also have to worry about "Black Steel Gajeel" as well."

"They are not as powerful as you all perceive them to be." Ryu, said as the others looked over at him. "The elemental four are about as strong as Gray their generation and Gajeel should be about the same level as Natsu."

"How do you know that?" Lucy asked.

"Me and Otouto have our ways, and the only reason to be afraid of Phantom Lord is the factor of them bringing in Dark Guild members."

"Would they really stoop that low?" Erza asked as Ryu nodded.

"I have already confirmed with Master, that Phantom Lord met with Grimoire Heart a couple of months ago."

"Well! Let's not worry about it tonight and sleep!" Lucy shouted.

(Next Morning)

"Move, we are from the guild." Ryu said as he was followed by Erza and Team Natsu. The group could hear whispers as they walked.

"How horrible."

"Phantom Lord are terrible."

"They haven't seen this."

"Nii-san!" Ryu turned around to see his brother and the others that he was with as well.

"Otouto, follow us." As they came upon the tree they saw that Team Shadowgear had been beaten and battered. They were hanging by their arms on the tree with the Phantom Lord mark on them.

Three sonic booms were heard as the Devil Slayers took them off the tree. "Hikari-chan, Otouto heal them."

"Those bastards…" Natsu said trying to keep his rage inside.

"Levy-chan!" Lucy said as she ran over to her friend in tears.

"They will be fine." Hikari said as Shio stood up and walked over to Ryu.

"Nii-san." Shio said quietly as the air thickened. Everyone watched as a red and blue beam ascended into the sky as energy crackled around the Devil Brothers. Everyone turned their heads as Master appeared.

"I can let the attacking of our building slide, but no father can stand by when the blood of his children is spelt!" He destroyed his cane as his yellow energy shot up into the sky.

"We got to war!" Makarov said as Ryu and Shio nodded. From far away Jose could see the three lights of power and grinned.

"Oho, Makarov and the Devil Brothers please entertain me."

(Phantom Lord)

"Hehe, Lets go pluck some Fairy wings ourselves." As they were about to open the door a blast of silver flames blasted through it.

"FAIRY TAIL IS HERE!" Makarov yelled as everyone charged forward.

"Damn fairies!"

"Shit!"

"Fire Dragons Wing Attack!" Natsu yelled as he blew away multiple members of Phantom Lord with his attack. "I don't care who it is! BRING IT ON!"

Multiple people ran towards Ryu, as a silver flame appeared and engulfed a portion of the area. Once the flame disappeared all of the members were unconscious.

"He, seems like Nii-san isn't going to use his weapon." Shio said as he slammed his hand into the ground causing multiple silver geysers to shoot Phantom members up into the air.

Erza, flew around in her Heavens Wheel Armor, and began attacking multiple members.

Master Makarov, walked forward as at least thirty Phantom members ran towards him. He roared as he increased in size defeating all of them with a swipe of his hand.

"Monster!"

"You dared to hurt this monsters children! Do not think the laws of the council will protect you from my wrath!" He roared as he walked forward.

"Jose! Show yourself!"

"Where are Gajeel and the Elemental Four?!" Erza yelled. Little did she know Gajeel was at the top of the ceiling with two other people who had a bone to pick with the Devil Brothers.

"Oh? So that is Titania." Gajeel said as Tai became jittery.

"I'm so excited I can't even control myself." Tai said as he licked his spear and eyed Shio."Shio-san~"

"Just wait for the plan to start." Zansai said as he eyed Ryu who stood still as the canon fodder threw themselves at him. "Devil I'm going to pay you back for what you did to me." As Zansai stood up one could see that half of his face was burned.

"Wood Make: The Distance between two people!" She yelled as she slammed her hands into the ground creating multiple wooden feet. Some of the people sweatdropped at her antics.

"Not too bad droopy eyes!" Natsu said as he was back to back with Gray.

"Same goes for you matchstick!"

"Ryu! Take lead for now! I'm going after Jose!"

"Hai!" Ryu said as he had a bad feeling. "Be careful Master."

As soon as Master Makarov destroyed the doors leading upstairs the three figures above grinned.

"Let's go!" Tai charged forward blasting off from the top with his spear outward towards Shio.

(Shio)

Shio, looked up as a familiar presence charged as he took out his trident to meet him on. As their energy clashed it blew away the lesser members of both guilds.

"What the hell?!" Gray yelled as he and Natsu looked over at Shio.

"Shio-nii!" Elfman said as he charged forward.

"Stay back!" Shio said as the members stopped their advance. "This guy is part of Grimoire Heart and is a high level S-Class so stand back!"

"Oh? I'm flattered Shio-san!" Tai said as he licked his lips.

(Ryu)

Ryu, was currently clashing blades with Zansai, who apparently wanted revenge for what Ryu did to him a couple years ago.

Ryu, dodged to the right as Zansai stabbed his longsword forward. As Ryu, brought up his Katana with an understrike Zansai, blocked it with his sword.

Both swords slid up and pretty soon they were pushing against one another. Ryu, was surprised as they were both equal in strength unlike last time.

"You think I have done nothing these past few years? What kept me alive was the goal of killing you!" The area around began to melt as the temperature soared above normal levels.

"Ryu!" Erza yelled as he looked over at her.

"Stay back!" Ryu said as Zansai looked over at Erza.

"Oh? A new girl? Why don't I take her life too?" Zansai said as Ryu glared and headbutted him shoving him back.

"I'm different from last time." Ryu, said as Zansai stared at him. "This time I will fight for Fairy Tail."

Ryu, then disappeared in a sonic beam as Zansai disappeared in a flash of light.

(Shio)

Shio, thrusted his trident forward as Tai, parried it. As Tai, brought up his spear, Shio waved under it and stabbed his trident into the ground.

As he did so he used his trident as a pole to kick Tai, who blocked it with his spear sending him sliding back.

"Bellow of the Sea God!"

"Breath of the Sea Devil!"

The two attacks slammed into each other causing a large explosion as water was sent everywhere.

"Sea Devils Whirling Fist!" Shio, yelled as he charged forward with his trident on his back. Tai seeing this grinned and put away his spear as he charged.

"Sea Gods Typhoon Fist!" His hands shined black as he threw a left that connected with Shio's. The two then jumped back and began a fist fight.

As Tai, charged forward his attacks were like Shio's. Every punch no matter how it was thrown or how it missed flowed perfectly with another attack.

Shio, sinked into the ground as Tai looked around. Shio reappeared and kicked Tai who sinked into the ground as well. Shio, turned back into silver water as their elemental forms began to fight each other.

(Natsu)

"I'm Fairy Tails Dragon Slayer!" Natsu, yelled as he ran forward with a fist coated in flames towards Gajeel who smirked.

"Fire Dragons Iron Fist!" The attack slammed into the chin of Gajeel sending him flying into some rubble.

"He sent Gajeel flying!" One of the phantom members said as Gajeel shoved off the rubble.

"That didn't hurt at all." He said as Natsu grinned.

"Doesn't seem that wa-" He didn't even finish his sentence as Gajeel sent him flying with an iron kick.

(Makarov)

"JOSE! What is the meaning of this?" Makarov said with his voice at its max. Jose on the other hand smirked.

"It's been a while, Makarov-san." He said as a giant fist slammed into where he was sitting.

"I'm not here to talk about the past, Jose!" When the dust cleared he saw that it was nothing more than a thought projection.

"Oh, you are pretty rash aren't you? But, as you can see I'd rather fight through a different method." He said as Lucy appeared at his feet.

"Lucy!"

"Ahh, yes another one was there too, but she and their pet cat were sent to the hospital...I hope." Jose said as Makarov widened his eyes knowing it was Lisanna he was speaking of.

"This is sadness!" Makarov turned around to see a large man crying.

"What the-!"

(Phantom Lord bottom floor)

A large explosion was heard as Master Makarov fell from the top floor much to the surprise of the others.

"Master!" Shio said as he ran towards him only to be stopped by Tai.

"Ne, don't forget who you're fighting now."

Ryu, on the other hand widened his eyes when he saw Master Makarov fall from the ceiling. He nodded towards Erza, and the others who ran to the side of Makarov.

"Oh? You're master was defeated rather easily." Zansai said as Ryu rose up his foot and kicked him sending him flying. He then disappeared in a sonic boom and reappeared next to Erza and the others.

"R-ryu my magic I can't feel it." He said as Ryu nodded. Shio, then appeared next to him.

"Nii-san, the godslayers have retreated."

"Can you help master?" Ryu, asked as Shio knelt down. Master was currently in the arms of Erza.

"I can't." He said much to the shock of everyone. "I doubt Hikari-chan can either. He has no magic that I can feel to heal his body."

"Did you all hear that! Their Master has been defeated!"

"Now they are weaker attack!"

Pretty soon the forces of Fairy Tail were being pushed back until.

"Unison Raid: Breath of the Devils!" Nearly half of the building was destroyed.

"Ne, Nii-san do you hear the buzzing of flies?" Shio said as he swung around his trident.

"I do." Ryu said with his katana at his side.

"Holy crap! We forgot about the Devil Brothers!"

"That's because those recruits from Grimoire Heart were supposed to be keeping them busy!"

"Erza." Ryu, said as she looked up at him. "Take the guild members and leave and whatever you do, don't look back."

"What!" Natsu yelled.

"Ryu-san!" Gray yelled.

"A man does not withdraw even if a manlier man says so!" Elfman yelled.

"I can still fight!" Macao said as he had an arm over Cana's shoulder. The pressure in the air grew even harder as Ryu, released his killing intent.

"RETREAT." He said much to the surprise of the guild members.

"Hai!" They all replied. When they had finally retreated Shio, and Ryu turned towards the Phantom members.

"Ne, Nii-san Gajeel, and the Godslayers have left already haven't they."

"That is right." They stood next to each other and raised their hands high.

"W-what are they doing?"

"There's enough magic being gathered to destroy our building!"

"Unison Raid: Fire and Sea Emperors!" A huge ball of red and blue energy appeared as they threw it forward and disappeared in sonic booms.

(Fairy Tail)

Erza, and the others were currently running back towards the guild when they heard a huge explosion.

"Holy shit!" Gray said as he looked back to see the explosion.

"I'm happy they are on our side." Cana said.

"Yo!" Shio said as he appeared alongside them with Ryu who didn't say anything.

"What did you guys do?" Gray asked.

"Oh you know gather tons of magic and detonate it." Shio, then grinned. "I guess you can call it payback for what they did to our guild, so you can say Fairy Tail won this battle."

"We still have to worry about Master though." Ryu said as he was carrying said person now instead of Erza who ran by his side.

"It's alright we'll make it through this especially if the two of you are with us." Erza said.

"Wait...where is, Natsu?" Shio said as everyone suddenly stopped. Ryu, sighed as he closed his eyes.

"He is moving to the west towards a familiar energy…...is that Lucy?"

"What!" The guild yelled.

"It is of no importance, Natsu can save her we have to worry about Master right now!" Ryu yelled as they all ran off.

"Ryu, we have to get Master to Porlyusica-san."

"I know."
