Chapter 48:
Double Anniversary Date
...
It's been a month since the Beach Party and since Roy and Kassie started dating themselves.
At first, it was a bit rocky which was expected. After a while, they got used to it and started enjoying themselves. Before they knew it, their new found relationship had already lasted an entire month and is still going strong.
To celebrate, Luigi invited them to have dinner with him and Wendy. They agreed and soon a double anniversary date was set up for the four of them.

Kassie let out a tired sigh as she walks down the halls of the Mushroom Castle. Her work shift had been long and dull today, so she was glad it was over. Now, she was heading back to her room to shower and redress before she could meet up with the others.
As soon as she got to her bedroom, she went for the shower. After five minutes, she came out and started getting dress. Instead of her usual blue dress, she put on a new one she bought yesterday. The dress was purple (her boyfriend's favorite color) with two blue stripes around the waist and at the bottom. To match with it, she picked out some blue shoes and earrings.
She was combing her hair in the mirror when she heard a knock on the door. She placed her comb down on the dresser and walked over to the door to answer it. When she opens it, she saw a blue-capped toad wearing a blue vest, a yellow tie, and thick black glasses.
"Hey Toadbert, what's up?"
The blue toad blinked behind his glass and blushed as he set eyes on her. "By boogity, Kastoadra, y-you look great!"
Kassie giggled. "Thanks, 'Bert, I was going for that; so what's brings you here?"
"Oh, um," He shook his head to rid the redness on his cheeks and failing. "I, uhm, came to inform you have a visitor."
Kassie blinked in confusion. "A visitor?"
"Yes," Toadbert frowned. "He says you two have a date today,"
"Oh right, that visitor," She realized. "Thanks, Toadbert; I'll be out in a minute."
"Okay, well, he and Toadsworth are waiting by the entrance so..."
Kassie doubled take. "Wait, Toadsworth is talking to him?"
Toadbert nodded. "Yes; he sent me to retrieve you while he keeps the guest company."
Kassie cursed. "Okay, Toadbert, thanks again."
Before Toadbert could response, the door shut in front of him. He frowned and bows his head, disappointed in himself and his situation. For a while now, he had had a crush on Kastoadra, but he was always too shy or nervous to approach her. Under Toad standard, Kastoadra was a beautiful woman with an adventurous personality. It was only natural that a nerd like him feels intimidated to ask a beauty such as her out on a date.
He sighed and started walking back to the foyer, wishing he was as daring as that visitor to ask Kastoadra out himself.

Back in her room, Kassie was quickly trying to finish getting dress. If Toadsworth was talking to Roy, then it won't be long before the purple koopa blow up in the old toad's face. Toadsworth had gotten protective over her when he found out she was dating someone, giving her speaks and lectures she could barely tolerate. Roy wasn't too thrilled on meeting him which is why he ever came to the castle, unless he was trying to capture the princess with the rest of the Koopalings. Usually they would meet at some place where no one can see them. However, this time was different. For the first time in a month, Roy was actually picking her up from her home.
She put on her shoes, her earrings and indigo striped mushroom hat. After a quick check in the mirror, she quickly exited her room and head towards the castle foyer. When she got there, she saw a small group of Toads already there. Among the group were the Princess and Mario, standing in the sidelines as they watch Toadsworth talk to the visitor in front of them.
The visitor was a toad wearing a purple vest, white pants, large brown shoes, and a purple mushroom cap with white spots. Kassie knew that toad was her koopa boyfriend in disguise. And the hot pink glasses he wore on his face only confirms it.
"Listen, I ain't here ta play 20 questions wit' ya," Roy said, irritated already. "I'm only here ta pick up Kassie so we could get on wit' our date."
Toadsworth scowled him. "Humph, where are your manners, boy? Don't you know how to respect your elders?"
"Sorry, but I left my manner's at home, as well as my respect."
Toadsworth scoffed and would have started lecturing him if Kassie didn't step in to stop them.
"Okay, I think that's enough introductions for today." She said.
"Oh, Kastoadra, your dress is so pretty," said a pink-capped toad wearing yellow earrings.
"Thank you, Toadiko,"
"Kastoadra, why don't you introduce us to your friend here," Toadsworth asked firmly.
"Uhm, sure," Kassie said. "Everyone, this is my boyfriend...Ray. Ray, this is everyone."
Roy raised an eyebrow at the lack of creativity in his fake name, but didn't question it as he addressed everyone. "S'up?"
Toadsworth scowl at his greeting as everyone else say 'hello'. Not wanting to spend any more time here than necessary, Kassie took Roy's arm and started leading him to the door.
"Okay, well, we better get going," She said hastily. "Don't wait up for me."
Everyone waved good-bye and call out 'have fun' as they exit the castle and started down the path into town. Toadsworth frowned as he watched them leave. First impressions were important when meeting one's family and friends, but this toad just disregard it as if it was nothing.
"Is something wrong, Toadsworth?"
The old toad jumped slightly and turned around to see it was the princess who had asked the question. He sighed,
"I'm fine, princess; it's just that… I don't think I can approve of this young man Kastoadra's with now." He confessed. "I mean, she had hung around people like him before in the past and nearly landed in a heap load of trouble because of it. This is why her uncle had sent her here for me to look after."
He frowned. "I just hope she isn't falling back to her old habits."
"You shouldn't worry so much." Peach said. "Kastoadra has learned a lot since she's been here. I'm sure by now she has learned right from wrong."
"Peach is right," Mario agreed. "Kastoadra's a good kid; she knows what she's doing."
"I hope you're right, Master Mario."
"I think they make a cute couple," Toadiko commented. "Wouldn't you agree, Toadbert?"
"Yes, I suppose so," Toadbert answered a bit downcast.
Toadiko smile softly. Poor Toadbert…it must be hard for him to see Kastoadra with someone else. But as smart as he may be, he was clueless to see that someone else loves him, especially when that someone was standing right beside him.

"Roy, you usually avoid the castle as much as you can; what made you come today?"
The purple toad shrugged. "No big deal; I jus' thought I'll pick you up from yur home fo' once."
"And you decided to do that on the day of our one month anniversary?"
"Coincidence,"
"Right,"
Kassie rolled her eyes, smiling nevertheless. She knew he was just trying to do something special for their anniversary. It may not be much, but it was still a pretty sweet gesture coming from him.
"Well, whatever your reasons are, I'm just glad you did it." She leans towards him and plant a kiss on his cheek which cause him to blush.
"So, where are we meeting the others?"
Roy shook his head slightly to rid the blush. "In Boo Woods," He replies. "Mustache said he has a place there where so we can hang around in private."
"Sound good to me"
...
...
Boo woods; a dark, spooky forest that is extremely large and full of many dead trees. Station on a large opening was a huge, three-story, green and white mansion with an "L" symbol place on the top center. Standing outside the gate were Wendy and Luigi. As soon as they saw the large mansion, Wendy's eyes grew with great astonishment.
"Luigi, it's so big and beautiful"
"Thank you," the green plumber said. "Come on, I'll show you inside."
They pass through the gates and walk up the path lead to the manor. Once at the door, Luigi used his key to unlock it and allow Wendy to enter. The pink Koopa stepped in and took in the sight of the large house. The inside looked bigger than the outside; everything was nicely furnished and a warm, pleasant feeling in the atmosphere.
Luigi stood beside Wendy as he watched her take in the sight of his home away from home. Frankly, he was quite please with it himself. He had spent a good amount of time decorating it the way he wanted it to be; spacious as well as comfortable and cozy. But even with a place of his own, the mansion was still too big for him to live in it alone.
"Luigi, your mansion is incredible." Wendy commented.
She always dreamed of owning a home as big as this one. Whether it was a castle, a palace, or even a simple manor; as long as it got a decent amount of land and show how well they were living off financially.
"I'm glad you like it," He said, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulls her close towards him. "It gets pretty lonesome here sometimes. I don't get many guests come and visit."
"Really," Wendy smirked, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Well then, if you're feeling that lonely, maybe I should sleep over a few times and kept you company."
"With you around, I can never feel lonely."
Wendy flushed and pulled him closer to share a kiss. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, because something interrupted their moment of affection.
Arf, arf!
The two jumped and turn around to the source of that barking. What they saw was a white, transparent, canine-like ghost with a red collar. This ghost was a Polterpup, one Luigi befriended long ago.
"Spettro,"
The ghost dog barked and jumped into the arms of his owner. As soon as the plumber caught him mid-air, the Polterpup began to lick his face up like vanilla ice cream, happy to see him again. Luigi giggled as he takes in the pup's kisses. Wendy stood beside them, curious to see the actions between them.
"Who's this, little guy?"
Luigi pull the dog away from him and wipe his face with his shoulder. "This is Spettro; he's my pet dog."
"You have a ghost for a pet?" Wendy questioned. "I thought you hated them."
"Not all of them," Luigi replies, "Just the ones that make a living out of scaring me."
Spettro was panting heavily in Luigi's arms as Wendy leans over to have a better look. The ghost puppy tilted his head, curious to know who she was.
"Is he friendly?" Wendy asked him.
"Naturally,"
Wendy let out her hand for Spettro to sniff. The Polterpup took in her scent and lick her hand. Wendy smiled and petted his round head.
"Aw, he's adorable; how long have you had him?"
"A few years; I have him stay around the mansion so he could guard it."
Taking Spettro into her own hands, Wendy held him up in the air and started cooing him as if he was a baby.
"You're too cute to be a guard dog, aren't you Spettro? No, you're more of a lap dog, aren't you, uh Sweetie?"
Spettro barked and lick her face as she continues to coo with him. Luigi watch from the sidelines, smiling at the fact that his best undead friend was getting along well with his girlfriend.
"Ho ho, I thought I heard voices."
Wendy paused from what she was going as Luigi blocked her from the view of the unknown figure entering the foyer. This figure was a short, old man in his late fifties, wearing a white lab coat, big brown shoes, and swirly glasses.
"Ah, greetings, Luigi, it's been awhile since I last saw you."
"Oh, uhm, hey there Professor E. Gadd," Luigi replies awkwardly. "W-What are you doing here?"
"Well, I seem to have misplaced my good wrench somewhere. I thought I might have left it here, but it seems that I was wrong." The professor explained. "So… are you going to introduce me to your lady friend hiding behind your back?"
Luigi flinched when he said that. Slowly Wendy started to come out from hiding behind the green plumber.
"Now, don't be shy," The professor encouraged. "Any friend of Luigi is a friend of mine."
Wendy step out into the opening completely and stood before the professor with Spettro in her arms. Seeing no point in hiding anymore, Luigi sighed and introduced them.
"Wendy, this is Professor Elvin Gadd; he's a friend of mine. Professor, this is Wendy Koopa; she's my girlfriend."
Wendy place Spettro on the ground and wave shyly to the professor. "Hi,"
"Well, hello, there Miss; it's nice to meet you." He greeted. "Excuse my hearing, but did you say she was your girlfriend?"
Luigi nodded. "Yes,"
"Ho ho, I see." He cheered. "Well, don't mind me then, I was just leaving; didn't mean to interrupt your time together. I just have to grab my bag."
The professor turned and left to get his bag in the other room. Luigi and Wendy stood there, puzzled. The old man barely reacted when he was told they were dating. They were expecting him to be shock and negative about their relationship, like Roy.
"Well, I'm off," Gadd announced as he reenters the room with a big brown bag by his side. "It was nice to see you again, youngster. And you too, Miss Wendy."
He headed for the door, still leaving the couple confuse. Luigi shared a quick glance with Wendy, before calling the professor out.
"Professor, wait,"
E. Gadd paused in front of the door and turn to the plumber approaching him. Luigi rub the back of his head, not sure what to say.
"You're not...upset about me dating Wendy?"
Professor tilts his head confusingly. "Actually, no; why should I?"
Luigi frowned. "Well for one thing, we're enemies"
"That doesn't seem to stop you, did it?"
"No, but..."
"But what's there to worry about?" He said. He placed a comforting hand on the green plumber's arm. "It's not my place to tell you who you should date and neither is anyone else. Is you two ready care for one another, then you should be together regardless of others."
Luigi took a moment to think about his words and smiled. "Thanks professor,"
"You're welcome, youngster; although I am a bit confused. I heard you were dating a red haired woman of high class?"
Luigi shook his head. "She used a spell to can transform herself human and pretend to be someone else. It actually works both ways."
"Oh, a cover up, I see. Very well then, your secret is safe with me. But I advised you to think about what I say; you can't keep hiding this forever."
Luigi nodded. "I will and thanks again."
"Anytime," He said.
He opens the door and exited the mansion. Luigi stood by the entrance and waves good-bye to the old professor as he start his way back to his lab.
"Have fun, you two," Professor parted. "And don't forget to use protection."
"T-T-T-That's not what we're going to do!" Luigi blushed heavily.
"It you say so," He yelled back.
Luigi sighed and re-enters the mansion. He closed the door and turned to Wendy. The pink-koopa place her arms behind her back and sway slightly.
"So," She started. "We still have some time before Kassie and Roy gets here, how about you show me around?"
Luigi nodded. "Good idea,"

Ending Note Today:
Toadiko and Toadbert both make their debuted in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. I have them set up in a interesting yet insignificant love triangle I created (or love square from the looks of it) - Toadiko loves Toadbert who like Kastoadra who's dating Roy.
Also, Professor Elvin Gadd and Polterpup (who I have named Spettro) knows about our main couple, making it a total of four.
