I found this in my old drafts and the nostalgia I felt rereading this...I had to bring it back ,) Now it'll obviously be better than the first version, and I hope you guys will enjoy it!

Chapter 1:

Rain wasn't all that common in Pixieville-well, not caused by Cherie at least. But this day, the thunder and lightning kept everyone in their homes. Even the elves were in their homes, sulking on the could that they couldn't go out and wreak havoc.

"Stupid rain! We can't do anything now!" Floxy, a member of the most notorious elf gang, whined.

"It's not like it always rains," Narcissa, his cousin(1), pointed out, "we can go out tomorrow, or even later."

"Yeah, but I won't get to see Sapph today!" Floxy argued back.

Narcissa just sighed. "Just call her then. Sheesh, you two can't be apart whatsoever-"

"Hey, do you guys know what's up with Yucca?" Lenny, their spiky, redhead friend, asked, "she's barely come out of her room since the storm."

Narcissa frowned. None of them were early birds, but the storm had started hours ago...

Narcissa shrugged. "She probably went back to sleep. It's not like there's really much we can do."

Floxy turned to Narcissa. "Video games in my room?"

Narcissa jumped up. "Hell yeah!"

The duo raced to Floxy's room, Lenny heading up to his room right behind them.

Their other three friends were in their room, but only two of them were asleep. The certain elf was still sitting up in bed, playing with her pinkish-red hair.

I hate thunder, Yucca thought to herself, it reminds me too much of Cheryl.

She tried to avert her mental gaze, but the thunder still triggered the memories she tried her hardest to push out.

She couldn't take it anymore. She started to weep, not just because of the storm, but because she missed her first best friend. Even after seven years, the wound wouldn't close. Grabbing her pillow, her sobs hardened as she tried to muffle the sounds. Nobody would understand, even if she wanted to reach out to her friends. She wanted to be left alone-

A knock on the door got her out of her headspace. Managing to quiet down, she just stared at the door. She didn't want to be bothered by anyone, why couldn't they get that?

A harder knock echoed throughout the room. She cleaned up her face as best as she could, before getting up to open the door. She opened the door a crack and saw a giant head of red hair.

"What is it, Len'?" she keeping her voice from wavering.

"You okay, babe?" Lenny's voice came out.

Yucca swallowed. "I'm fine, just a little tired-"

"Yucca, don't even. Your face is red and you're talking in that tone."

Swallowing again, Yucca averted her gaze. "I'm fine, Lenny, I just wanna be alone."

Lenny crossed his arms. "I've known you since forever, and I know you're lying. So what's wrong? You've stayed in here ever since it started to rain."

He didn't mean to, but that comment stung. Instead of a verbal answer, Yucca pulled him inside. Once they sat down on the bed, Yucca took a deep breath.

"You remember my old friend...Cheryl, right?" It felt like hot knives saying her name.

Lenny frowned, confused. Then, a bulb flashed. "The elf with the-"

"-big brown eyes and-"

"-dark red hair that you called Cherry?" he finished, "Yeah I remember her." He shook his head and looked down. "She deserved better."

"Did I, or anyone else, ever tell you how she died?" Yucca's voice wavered.

Lenny shook his head. "How?"

Yucca took a few breaths, before telling him her friend's tragic downfall.

Flashback:

"Yucca, let's go!" an eight-year-old Cheryl called out to her

An eight-year-old Yucca went running to her, holding a doll in her hand.

"Let's go, Cherry!" she grabbed Cheryl's hand and ran to her backyard. Cheryl was new, and since Yucca didn't have any friends on her street, she immediately took a liking to Cheryl.

They played and played, and eventually Yucca had to go home.

Weeks later, Cheryl went to go on a family trip.

"Be careful, Cherry," Yucca said to her best friend, "it's really rainy and dark outside."

"No worries!" She flashed a toothy grin.

They gave each other a long-lasting bear hug. and Cheryl headed to the car, as Yucca went up to her room.

In the morning, she woke up to the sound of her mom crying. She walked over to her, baffled by the tears running down her face.

"What happened, mommy?" Yucca wondered.

Her mom quickly wiped her tears away. She looked Yucca in the eye, trying to figure out how to say it to her eight-year-old daughter.

"Oh yeah, can I call Cheryl later on?"

However, she wasn't expecting the reaction she got. Her mom gave her a serious look. "Yucca baby," she said to her, clearly trying not to cry, "Cheryl...is gone. She got hurt really bad, and...she had to leave."

Little Yucca's grin faded, and tears started to form in her eyes.

"Where did she go, mommy?" the little elf asked.

"Sweetie...it was dark and stormy out," her mom explained to her, "her mommy and daddy couldn't see where they were going, and another car crashed into them, flipping the car over..."

The older elf took a shaky breath, giving her heart in living form a sad smile.

"She turned into an angel, just like Daddy."

Yucca couldn't believe it. She might've only been eight, but she definitely knew what "gone" and "turned into an angel" meant. At that point, Yucca's quiet tears turned into loud sobs. Her sadness was not only due to her friend's untimely death, but because she never got to enjoy her family trip. The older elf scooped her daughter up and took her to her bedroom, where she remained by her daughter's side the rest of the day.

End flashback:

By the time she finished, her sobs had resumed. Never really seeing her this distraught, Lenny stared in shock.

"Oh, shit...babe, I'm so sorry," he finally said.

He outstretched his arms to pull his hysterical girlfriend towards him.

She cried into his chest for what seemed like an eternity. "I miss her so much," she sobbed, "Everytime there's a thunderstorm, it brings it back."

He didn't give a response, solely letting her release her pent up feelings. He moved his hands all over her back, hoping that it was helping in some way.

Lenny pulled away and dried Yucca's tears. "I know it's hard," he said, "but don't think of it as a bad thing; think of it as a way to show she's still with ya."

Seeing that that didn't comfort Yucca, he tried again. "I'm gonna stay with you tonight, okay?"

Yucca, too emotional to talk, nodded her head and wiped her eyes.

They cuddled up and watched a channel that they love. While Lenny laughed at the show, Yucca remained unresponsive. She could still here the storm, and it didn't help that the couple on TV was swerving their vehicle.

Feeling like she'd puke, she finally spoke up. "I-I don't wanna watch this."

Looking over, he noticed she was a bit pale. Immediately changing the channel, he lowered the volume and turned to his love.

"Do you wanna talk?" Lenny asked.

Yucca shook her head.

"...wanna sneak down and eat Floxy's leftover cake?"

The ghost of a smile on her face, Yucca shook her head.

"Well, what do you need? You can tell me," Lenny reassured her.

Yucca didn't answer for a minute. Finally, she settled on a want.

"Just stay here with me, okay?" she gave her answer, "I just want you here."

And the spiky, red-haired elf did just that. Yucca's figure in his hold, she snuggled up to her love, taking in his scent and warmth. Lenny turned the volume back up a bit and the two watch the show, Lenny occasionally playing with her hair.

Some time later, Lenny glanced at her clock. "Sheesh, evening already." he mentioned to Yucca.

At the lack of a response, he turned to see Yucca was asleep. Her light snores added to the TV playing, and Lenny smiled at her peaceful face. Carefully lying her down, he threw the comforter on top of the two, holding her once again.

As they cuddled up to each other, they both fell into a deep sleep instantly. Unknowing to Yucca, someone was watching them from the corner of the room with a giant smile on their face. The figure walked over to the sleeping couple, and planted a kiss on Yucca's cheek. The being then reached into its pocket and placed a silver heart locket on Yucca's dresser, their names engraved in their childhood handwriting.

Don't be sad over me Yucca. We will reunite again sooner or later.

This one...was one of my OLD old stories. It must've been backed up on my old fanfic account, and I'm lucky I found it.

1: In the show they're also a couple, but they act more like family to me, so in my AU, they're cousins, and Floxy's dating Sapphire Maeve, the OC of one of my longest friends, TunaMayo; definitely give her stories a read!

Let me know what you guys think, and if I should make this into a series (about Yucca and Lenny ofc), or leave as a oneshot. I'll see you all next time!
