Chapter 54:
Revealed

Bowser was pleased.

No, he was more than pleased; he was excited.

Not only did he success in capturing the Mushroom Princess, he also managed to capture that troublesome plumber and Sarasaland Princess as a bonus. And with Mario out of the way, the Mushroom Kingdom should be easy picking for now on.

At this moment, Junior, the Koopalings, Kamek, and himself were in his throne room, celebrating the day's outcome. He looks over to his left side and smirked. Princess Peach was in her cage place beside him where she rightfully belongs.

He gave her a toothy smile. She huffed and turned her head away from him. Bowser shrugged her off and turned his attention to his other two prisoners across from his throne, his smirk returning. Mario and Daisy were forced to kneel down before him, both of which were restrained so they couldn't try to escape. All they could do now is send heated glares at that the Koopa King.

"Well, this is a surprise, isn't it?" Bowser said. "The Mushroom Kingdom's best protector captured by me… the all powerful Koopa King and the soon-to-be ruler of more than one kingdom. Humph, I wonder what the headlines are going to be like in tomorrow's paper."

"You haven't won yet, Bowser." Mario growls. "You still have Luigi to worry about."

"AH! That green wimp," Bowser laughed. "Please, he should be easy picking without you around to help him."

"Luigi's a lot stronger than you think, Lizard Breath," Daisy claimed.

"Pftt, I doubt it."

Suddenly a Goomba appeared and step forward to address the King. "Excuse me, your highness?"

Bowser turned his head to the Goomba. "What is it?"

The Goomba grew nervous. "Sir Kazvin is here and he has some news to tell you."

"Oh, really?" Bowser said causally.

"Indeed I am, my lord. And as a sign of my worthiness to you, I brought you a gift."

Bowser lifted his head up when he heard Kalvin enter with a PomPom by his side. Trailing behind them come a Chomp Bro carrying a single person cage with two figures inside of it. Mario and the princesses gasped in surprise when they saw it was their green hero within that cage, as well as a female Toad friend they knew very well. Their fear grew when they notice he was unconscious and the Toad looked a bit roughen up.

Bowser simply smirked at the sight of the green Mario already captured before he could even bother looking for him. He had completely missed the fact that Roy had stepped in the moment they had enter looking both surprise and angry. However, the Koopa King's smirk quickly disappeared when he saw a Sledge Bro entering last, carrying a second single person cage with another figure inside.

"What the..."

His eyes widen as that figure in the second cage appeared in the light of the room. And he wasn't the only one. All of the Koopalings, as well as Junior and Kamek, looked with disbelief at the sight of one of their own.

"Wendy...?"

The pink koopa flinch when her name was called. Unable to face her family, Wendy turn her gaze on her cell floor, ashamed to be seen like this. The first few minutes, the whole throne room was silence from the shock of it all. That silence was soon broken by Bowser who flew out of his chair in anger.

"What the shell is going on here?" He roared.

"Sir Kalvin, what is the meaning of this? Why do you have Wendy inside a cage?" Kamek asked with suspension.

Kalvin raised his hand in defense. "Please, King Bowser, it's not what you think. I'm only here to show you the truth."

"The truth?" Bowser questioned in disbelief, trying to hold down his fury. And he wasn't the only one. Roy looked ready to attack both him and the Pom Pom next to him after seeing both his sister and his secret mate imprison like that.

"Yes, your highness, the truth" Pompey steps in, holding both Wendy's staff and the sledge hammer in each hand. "You're so called daughter has been deceiving you and these two..." She points to the first cage with the wand. "...were in on it."

While everyone else was confused by her statement, Roy only narrowed his eyes. 'How da shell did they find out?' He thought.

"As soon as we discovered their trickery, we… detain the princess and capture the plumber so we can bring them here to you."

"Actually, credit for capturing the plumber goes to me." Pompey interrupted, ignoring the glare Kalvin was sending her. "Sir Kalvin and his friends here were having some problem with him so I had to step in and get the job done myself."

Almost everyone flinched when Pompey showed off the sledge hammer she used on Luigi. As best as he could, Mario leaned towards his brother's cage. He grew increasingly concerned when he spotted the trauma area on Luigi's bleeding forehead.

"Well, that's fine and dandy and all, but I still don't know what's going on?" Bowser said, frustrated.

"Here, I'll show you,"

Pompey walked over to the first cage and held up Wendy's scepter. She wave it around point it at Luigi. He was engulfed in a bright light. Mario and Daisy had to turn away slightly to shield their eyes. When the light dimmed down, they unshielded themselves and everyone's eyes widen. Bowser and all the other koopas in the room became speechless as Peach let out a small gasp and place her hand over her mouth.

'It's...' She thought. '...the koopa who saved me.'

For a moment, Bowser can only look in shock as his red eyes lay on the koopa in the cage. But once that info had fully registered into his mind, his natural green face started turning red with rage. To the others, he looked like volcano ready to explode.

"Are you freaking kidding me?" He roared. "That no good piece of green was actually Kasanova Koopa this whole time?!"

"And that's not all..." said Pompey.

She stood next to Wendy's cage. If looks could kill, Wendy's fierce glare would have made Pompey drop died right there and then. Pompey smirked, knowing full well there was nothing the pink koopa could do to stop her.

"...Watch this,"

She wave Wendy's scepter and point it right at her. A light consumed Wendy, just like it did with Luigi. Once the light faded away, it was Mario and the princesses turned to become speechless.

"L-Lady Fettuccine?" Peach said, so softly that no one heard her speak.

Wendy blew away the strain of hair that fell out of place but didn't say anything.

"Hold on a minute," Mario said slowly, his eyes widen and his mouth slightly agape. "Lady Fettuccine... is actually Wendy?"

Wendy hold down a chuckle and turn to the red hero, slightly amuse by his dumbfound expression. It wasn't nearly as cute as Luigi's. "Ever would have guess it, uh pipehead?"

Bowser growled loudly, regaining everyone's attention. He had his back turned to everyone so they couldn't his face. However, everyone could just sense he was fuming right now by the clenching and unclenching of his fists. Heck, even Mario was a bit worried.

"Alright," He finally said after a tense silence.

He turned back around and focused his attention on his prisoners. Mario and Daisy grew tense under his gaze. Kassie grew tense as well as she managed to keep a brave face on. Luigi was still knocked out while Wendy turned her gaze on his unconscious form. Bowser sneered,

"Take the princess to her room and these four to the dungeon; I'll deal with the plumber later." He ordered. "As for the rest of ya, get out. I need to have a talk with Wendy."

Everyone nodded and did what they were told. Kamek called forth some guards and have them carry Mario and the others to their cells in the dungeon. As they were hauled off, Wendy kept her worried eyes on Luigi, wishing he'll wake up soon. Bowser noticed this and growled, his red eyes glaring at the green plumber. Pompey was the last one to leave. She had stayed behind to enjoy the state she had reduced Wendy into. Satisfied with the course of her revenge, she too proceeded out of the room.

"Have fun," she said to her with a noticeable grin on her face.

Wendy growled but say nothing as she watch her most hated enemy exit the room, the door closing behind her. Once she was gone, Wendy turned back to her father who did not look please with her at all. She sighed; she was in for it now.

The man ran through the field as fast as he can, collecting Mushrooms along the way. Suddenly a black chain chomp appeared causing him to turn back around. The man kept running through the field maze and found a new path, fresh with mushrooms. The man started to collect those mushroom until another chain chomp, red in color, appeared.

He back track and started running away from the chain chomp when a blue one stood in his line of exit. With his first two pathway blocked, he was forced to take the third hallway to escape. At first it seems that he was in the clear, until he saw a yellow chain chomp in front of him. He quickly turned around to avoid it when…

'AAAHHH!'

'GAME OVER'

Morton blinked as the screen flashes the words over and over again. He growled and kicked the arcade station out of frustration.

"Stupid Chain Chomp, stupid Shroom Man,"

He and the rest of the Koopalings, as well as Junior were all hanging around the recreation room. Anger and frustration was tense in the air as they all thought about their sister and her actual boyfriend.

Ludwig looked up from his music sheet to glance at the brown colored koopa. "What are you doing, Morton?"

He puffed. "I'm trying to get rid of the plumber's name off the game station."

"Well, kicking it until it breaks isn't going to work."

"I know," He grunted. "I'm just so frustrated right now. Grah," He gave the game station one hard kick before turning away from it. "I mean, how can she do this? How can she just date some lousy plumber?"

"Maybe she's into the filthy types," Lemmy say, balancing on his ball.

"Yeah; handymen, construction workers, mechanics... guys who get their hands and their clothes dirty." said Iggy.

"Well, if you ask me, I think she deserved whatever punishment King Dad gives her." Junior said.

"For once I agree with you." Larry said with Ludwig nodding with him.

Among their talk one koopa remained silent. Roy was leaning against the far wall with his arms cross and his gaze on the ground. Having hearing enough of what the others think, he leaned off the wall and heading towards the exit. Junior noticed his retreat and called him out.

"Where are you going, Roy?"

"Ta ma room," Roy replies with looking back. "You guys can play all yer want, jus' count me out o' it."

"Humph," Junior puffed after Roy left. "What's his problem?"

"Lay off him, Junior," Ludwig replies. "If anyone has the right to be upset it should be him. Wendy is his sister after all,"

"I hear ya," said Iggy. "I don't know what I'll do if I found out Lemmy was dating the plumber's sister or someone related to him."

"Same here," said Lemmy. He frowned. "Wait, the plumber has a sister? I thought he had a brother?"

Ludwig sighed at Lemmy's lack of intelligence and look back at the door where Roy had exit from. Since they had left the throne room, Roy had been unusually calm and quiet about this whole manner. Normally, the purple koopa is very protective over Wendy, since she was his biologically sister. It was surprising to say the least to see that he hadn't so much as flinch when Kalvin and that PomPom revealed Wendy's true mate was actually the plumber in green.

'Looks like Roy realized that he can't always be there for Wendy,' He thought. 'There are just some things a koopa have to handled on their own; it's part of growing up after all.' He turned his attention back on his music sheet. 'Wendy dug herself into this mess so it only makes sense if she digs herself out.'

Luigi felt a lot of pain as he started to regain consciousness. He had a terrible headache that spread through his body like wildfire. He let out a painful groan; if this pain doesn't die down soon he might black out again.

"Luigi...?" called a voice. "Luigi, are you awake?"

That voice...It sounded familiar to him. But he couldn't recall the face attached to it. He tried to remember, however, that simple action just cause his head to hurt even more.

"Luigi..." The voice called again. "Come on, Luigi, wake up...please?"

The voice was pleading now. It sounded like this person was worried about him. Blue eyes fluttered open. Luigi's vision was blurry and unfocused; he couldn't see anything but darkness. He closed them and reopened them again. This time he was able to make out a figure.

"Or-Orabelle...?"

The figure shifted. "Uhm, no...But I'll give you two more guesses."

He blinked several more time, his sight becoming clearer as he did so. Once his vision was finally clear enough for him to see, he was able to make out the figure looking down on him.

"Ka-Kastoadra,"

The blue/purple toadette smiled. "Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner; good to see you're not totally out of it."

Luigi was puzzled by her meaning but he was in too much pain to think about it right now. He made an attempt to sit up and quickly regretted it when he felt a wave of dizziness and nausea ran through his body.

"Not so fast, okay?" Kassie said. "You already threw up once on the way here and almost got me in the process."

Once the wave of nausea fades for a bit, he made the attempt again, this time more slowly. Once he was in a sitting position, Kassie helped him lean against the wall for support. His senses were slowly coming back to him but his mind was still painfully foggy. He was dazed, confused, and couldn't remember what had happened to make him feel this way.

"Are you okay, Bro?"

Luigi's reaction time was a bit slow when he registered at the second voice. He looked up and search for the owner. It was then he noticed his current location. He was in a cell in a dark dungeon. Kastoadra was right next to him which meant they were sharing this one cell. Across from them, two other cells were occupied. Luigi blinked a few times before he usher the names of the other prisoners.

"Mario...Daisy...?"

His older brother sighed as the flower princess smiled sadly. "Hello Luigi, it's good to see you're up. You've been out for a while now."

"I...was?" Luigi questioned. He tried to stand up but his legs were still numb from his awakening. He fell back on the ground.

"Take it easy, Bro," Mario told him softly. "You already have a concussion. And judging from the bleeding, you might have some serious head injury as well." His voice lowered slightly. "Not too surprising since you got hit with a sledge hammer."

"A sledge hammer?" Luigi was confused; what exactly happened to him?

Subconsciously, he reached out a hand to rub his throbbing head. The second he touched it, he recoil and hiss as a sharp pain hit him. He looked down at his hand and saw it was strain with blood. But that wasn't the only thing he had realized.

'My hand,' He thought. 'Were they always talons?'

The answer to his question came to him a full minute later as well as a powerful wave of memories. The letter, him and Wendy meeting, Pompey and Kalvin appearing, the fight they got into, and the hard solid object that cause him to black out…everything came running back to him.

Luigi gasped and search through his body to find that he was indeed a koopa. He focused back on the others. Daisy's gaze fell to the ground while Mario had a look of anger, disappointment, concern, and hurt all mixed in together. Luigi frowned and turn back to Kassie. The little Toadette smiled and uttered the words he did not want to hear,

"They know,"
