I am so sorry for not updating for so long guys! Dx I've been having writers block for a while now Q_Q Also, I must give you a warning. There is going to be spoilers in the future (FAARR FUTURE don't worry.) About the recent chapters of One Piece, since its gonna be relevant to this fanfic, because the recent chapters have revealed more details about Law and so, I just want you guys to know. Don't worry, it wont happen yet.
As Law came to, he found himself in his bed, in his room. He sat up and looked around.
"…How did I get here…?" He thought to himself. Bepo had entered his room. He had a wet towel with him, so that he can place it on Law's forehead. He saw Law awake.
"Captain! Lie down! You shouldn't be standing up!" He shouted.
"Ugh…" Law fell back on the bed. "How long was I out?"
"3 days…"
"What?! Why didn't you wake me up?" Because Rei said you had to get some rest.
"Rei? What the hell does she know? She's not a doctor."
"She isn't, but…"
"I'm getting out bed. I have things to do." Law pulls off his blanket, and gets off the bed.
"Wait, you can't…" Law opens the door. There, standing at the door, was Rei, holding a tray with a bowl of soup, and a glass of water.
"Get your ass back in bed." Rei said angrily. Law did as he was told. "Bepo, I need to talk with Law alone…" Rei said as she looks at Bepo.
"O…okay." Bepo gave the wet towel to Rei and left the room. Law laid in bed, staring at his ceiling. Rei puts the soup aside and sits beside Law and places the wet towel on his head.
"You shouldn't be up…" she said.
"I have things to do…" Law replied.
"They can wait…"
"I know what I'm doing…"
"No you don't. Just stay in bed. Take the day off."
"You don't know what's best for me!"
"Yes I do!"
"How? How do you know? You've lived the perfect life everything goes your way. You can'lt possibly know, what is best with me, or know to handle this kind of situation!" Law had said something unnecessary again. Rei stared at him, feeling a little bit angry.
"You think I lived in a life of luxury? Did you forget all the personal stuff I told you, the day you arrived on my island?" Law could hear the frustration in her voice as she tried to hold back her tears.
"I'm only looking out for you. If this is how you treat people who care about you, then I feel very sorry for you!" Rei yelled. "I should go…" Rei lowers her voice. She gets off the bed. Law grabs her arm to prevent her from leaving.
"I'm sorry…I didn't mean to say that stuff…" Rei looks at the floor. She's not mad at him anymore.
"It's fine. I'm sorry I yelled at you." Rei grabs the tray of soup. "I made you some soup."
Law sits up and takes the tray. He sips the soup.
"It's good." He smiles.
"Really?" Rei said in excitement.
"Yea." After Law had finished eating, the two of them just sat there in silence.
"How long has it been since you had a good night sleep?" Rei finally said.
"How did you know?"
"Well, the other day when I made sandwiches, I saw dark circles on your eyes. And you seemed to be anxious lately." Rei hands Law some water. Law sips it. "When I was working multiple jobs for my sister, at one point, I was in the same situation you were in. I stayed up for days, trying to make a living for the both of us. While I was resting, Ken went out and did work for us. He nursed me back to health, and I went to work again. But I didn't over do it. I took breaks."
"I'm not like you. I can work for months without any sleep." Law argued.
"Law, you're a doctor. You should know what happens to the human body when there is lack of sleep"
"…" Law opened his mouth to argue, but shut it. Rei has a point. But what is Law supposed to do? He made it his goal to get his crew into the New World at any cost. He stayed up for days finding safe ways to get to the New World, and he hardly found out how. He knows so little.
"Law, you put too much on your shoulders. You should learn how to rely on others. We're your Nakama. Rely on us more, okay?" Rei had a concerned look on his face. Law looks away.
"Tch, I don't need your help. You're probably useless with this stuff anyway." Law pouted
"Hey, I'm trying to help here." Rei pouted as well. Law was spot on. Rei can't use a map. She can go places on her own, but to her, using a map is like trying to solve a puzzle.
"Well fine then, go and pass out again, I don't care…" Rei pouts and tries to stomp out of the room. She was suddenly pulled back by Law, who had grab hold of her arm.
"Oi, wait a second…" Law said. He then let go.
"What?" Rei asked.
"Can you make me more soup?"
"Hell no! What am I, your servant?" Rei pouts again. She turns to face Law.
"No…I'm just still hungry and…" Law looked away again. "Your soup was good. I just wanted seconds…"
Rei blushed.
"Tch, you're just trying to kiss up to me. Guess what? That isn't gonna work, mister. Fine, I'll get you your soup. Just don't go anywhere! You're still in poor health, so stay in bed!" Rei turns around, and without looking, hit her face on the door.
"Ow…" Rei moaned as she touched her face.
"You okay?" Law asked
"Sh…shut up, I'm fine!" Rei blushed again and stomped out of the room, shutting the door behind her.
"Pfft… what the hell was that?" Law chuckled to himself. Law felt this weight on his chest. This happens to him every time he is with Rei. But what the hell is it? Now that he thought about it, he's been thinking about Rei pretty often. Nah, there's no way!
…Right?
