Hey guys I'm back. Sorry for the late chapter again school has been really tough and I've been using up a lot of time doing my homework and stuff. So… this is the next chapter. Thanks for all your support.
Disclaimer: I do not own bleach and all that…
Chapter 4
General's POV
I lay on the rooftop, watching the shinigami below clear up all the blood on the floor. It had been an hour since the fight was over, and I was bored out of my mind. Nothing exciting had happened since the fight of Ichigo against Kenpachi. Slowly drifting off to sleep, I mulled over the events that had happened so far.
Suddenly I felt a burst of reiatsu again. My closed eyes shot open.
This reiatsu… it's that Shiba guy and the traitorous 4th squad member. Hmm… they're at the repentance cell already? That's fast considering they didn't use shunpo. Time to go check that out huh…
Standing up, I flashstepped away to the direction of the repentance cell.
I'm not gonna miss this. I can feel Byakuya making his way there now…
Pouring on extra speed, I reached the cell in a few seconds.
Hmph… I'm almost panting… I'm so out of practice. Even though I can match yoruichi no problem now… I still need to train more. Right! After this entire mess is cleared up, time to hit the training ground again. Wait! This isn't the time to be thinking about stuff like that!
I shook myself out of my thoughts. 'Don't get distracted. Don't let your guard down. And most importantly… STOP DAYDREAMING!" ... I still hate you for that sensei. Why did you have to keep hitting me just because I daydream occasionally. (A/N note sarcasm ^^) Geez. You're so strict. Wait shit I'm daydreaming AGAIN! AHHHHHH! THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!
After my little internal tantrum, I focused on the sight in front of the cell. Byakuya ahd just reached the cell too. It seems that the Shiba and the 4th squad member had found Rukia and brought her out of the cell. But before they could ge far, Byakuya appeared and stopped them. They were now facing off on the passage way connecting the repentance cell with the rest of the seireitei.
They've got no chance against him. There're actually better off giving up and running away. They might be able to get away if Byakuya decides not to chase them… well that isn't likely to happen. Considering that this is Byakuya we're talking about. Knowing his 'moral values' and stuff, he most likely won't let them go and will give chase.
I sighed. There're SO screwed.
"That symbol on your clothes… are you from the Shiba clan?" Byakuya's voice snapped me out of my daze. Dammit not again! Why do I keep daydreaming?!
"Yes." The Shiba person replied.
"Then I apologize for not using my full force against you. I cannot leave you alive now." Drawing his sword, Byakuya released it.
"Chire, Senbonzakura." His sword scattered into a bunch of razor sharp petals. The poor Shiba guy didn't even know what hit him until he was lying on the floor, with multiple wounds from the many blades piercing him all at once. I knew it… someone of his caliber doesn't stand a chance against Byakuya at all. He's better off giving up. MAYBE his life will be spared… but that's a very big maybe. Shall I step in before the damage becomes too great?
But before I could do anything, Byakuya's sword hilt was grabbed by Ukitake.
"My my. I got here just in time. What were you thinking Byakuya? You could've killed him you know. Isn't releasing your Zanpakto in such a place a class one forbidden act? What on earth were you doing? He said.
"Special wartime orders have been given, which permit the releasing of zanpakuto." Byakuya replied in his usual monotone.
"Really?! Has the Ryoka invasion gotten so bad? Hey, do you think it was a Ryoka who killed Aiz-" before Ukitake could finish his sentence, we were hit by a wave of reiatsu.
This reiatsu… is it Ichigo's? I didn't expect him to recover so quickly… well I suppose he has the regenerrative abilities of a hollow so it's not THAT surprising…but still, this is an unexpected rate of recovery. That is… unless yoruichi didn't dump him head first into her hot spring of magical healing water thingy.
Ichigo soon landed on the bridge, holding that weird dinosaur-like thingy that helped him fly all the way up here from the secret hiding place that wasn't exactly very difficult to find. Well… to a normal soldire it would be hard, but for someone of my caliber, I found it in about 5 minutes after we played hide n seek. Though I have to admit… that place ispretty handy fro training…especially with that copy of Kirinji Tenjiro's hot spring. Though practically not as good as the original, that hot spring would be quite handy at times where you fall during training or something and graze yourself.
Wait why the hell am I daydreaming again?! Dammit I thought I'd gotten rid of that habit…
Gazing back at the scene in front of me, I saw Ichigo and Rukia arguing.
Oh god they're so cute together! They should really get together once all of this is over… I mean not that Byakuya would allow or tolerate it, but still… (A/N I'm an ichiruki supporter :P) kyaaaaaaaah (fangirl squeal)
It seems that Ichigo and Rukia had finished their *ahem* lovers quarrel. Ichigo was now facing Byakuya.
"Byakuya! I'll defintely defeat you now!" That bold exclaimation made me want to sink into depression.
How stupid can he get? He can't possibly hope to defeat Byakuya in that state! His body's already barely holding him together… And I don't think he's learnt Bankai yet…it's impossible to have done that in a mere day, even with that weird doll-like thingy. Three days, I understand coz that thing is made for 3 days. But… a day? No way.
I sighed and was getting ready to jump off my perch when Yoruichi came in to save the day. Byakuya was just about to release his shikai, (which I'm PRETTY sure Ichigo would have no problem handling even without his bankai) bit she wrapped her magical white ribbon or whatever around senbonzakura. After that she gave Ichigo a scolding.
"Fool! You're not going to be able to defeat Byakuya at this stage! How arrogant are you?" She shouted at him, before injecting some kinda drug directly into his system, which knocked him unconscicous for a while. Ouch. That looked painful.
Maybe it's time for my debut.
I jumped from my post and landed perfectly on the bridge like the boss I am.
"Ok. Let's stop there shall we?" It looked like Byakuya and Yoruichi were going to clash again like always, only this time they'll be more violent and cause more damage to their surroundings and I'll have to clean up AGAIN (as always).
"Shogun-sama?!" Ukitake exclaimed from behind me. "Hi." Waving causually, I smiled.
"Don't just 'Hi' me! How long have you been there?" he looks so exasperated.
"Um… I don't know, since before you came to save the life of this Shiba clan member? Ehehehe" I smiled sheepishly.
"Shogun-sama! I told you before right? Please don't be so lazy! You're supposed to be the most powerful person in the seireitei, being the soul king's personal bodyguard!" He went on about my duty or somethingabout that.
"Hai, hai. Yes whatever you say." I'll just keep him happy for now. Can't stand his many long lectures. Whenever he starts on something he never stops.
"Oi! Shogun-sama! Are you even listening to me?! Ahhhhh. Never mind." Yes! He's given up! Yayyyyyyy! Finally.
"Shogun-sama." A different voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "Yes? Byakuya?" Turning around, I saw Byakuya giving me his usual 'I-don't-care-about-anything-and-all-you-peasants-are-below-me' look, while Yoruichi had this 'ahahaha-I'm-not-the-one-to-suffer-through-Ukitake's-lectures-this-time' smug look plastered all over her face. That betrayer! Rukia was looking afraid, as if I was gonna bite her or something. Jeez. Am I really so scary? "Anyway, let's break up this troublesome fight shall we? I don't want anymore damages to the seireitei." Yoruichi narrowed her eyes before flashstepping away.
"Shall I give chase?" Byakuya asked me.
"Nope. Unless you want to get your ass kicked and feel humiliated because she left you in the dust." I replied, smiling sadistically. I'd love to see his face when he gets his ass kicked by Yoruichi, it's gonna be so funny. Unfortuntely, to my disappointment, he did not try to give chase.
"Shogun-sama, Ukitake-taichou. I'm leaving now." He said in his usual monotone-ish voice.
"Oi! Byakuya! Where are you going? I thought you came to exterminate the Ryoka!" Ukitake calls after him.
"I'm not interested anymore." Saying that, he strutted away like the incredibly arrogant peacock he was.
"Then I'm going to. Bye~" I called out before vanishing into thin air. (or so I would have hoped; in truth I flashstepped away)
I yawned as I made my way back to my living quarters. I was previously staying near the main seieritei, but I recently moved back to my tattered old house on the outskirts on the compound that was the living quarters of all the generals before me. When I first started training to become a general, I also stayed at this place. It's not exactly very fancy, but its home. That's for sure. It was probably the first place I could call home in my life. Oh did I mention that it's on a mountain? Guess not. My sensei once said the purpose of it being on a mountain was to ensure that if attacked the resident(in this case me) would be able to have sufficient preparation to defend against the enemy attack.
But it really only served as troublesome thing to climb up everytime I wanted to go home… in the end it caused more trouble than help… well most people won't even attempt to attack me either way so why have this thing at all? The only people that actually know about me are the captains and the enemies of soul society that have really posed a threat in the past… and even those have mostly been terminated. Paranoia really is the worst thing ever…
After the torture of climbing up the bloody mountain, I finally reached my old tattered house. Ah! Home sweet home! I guess I'll go to sleep first.
Hi. Apologies again for the late chapter. I really don't have a lot of time to write but I try my best to find time :) thanks for reading ^^ ily.
