SOUL SOCIETY - FIRST DIVISION
In a large meeting hall, shinigami from all divisions were silent as they watched the Imperial Princess, no the queen, and the representative from the Royal Realm. Aside from those from the fifth division and the sixth seat of the thirteenth division, any shinigami who was sixth seat or below knelt.
The results of the contest Marriage of Princesses had little meaning until she could talk some sense into the Soul King. Looks like she might have to beg on behalf of the winners. After all, it wasn't just her who had been a contestant.
Ichigo Kurosaki, now returned and in the world rather than his past incarnation, stood by Uryu Ishida, a pleading look on both their faces.
Navar, an aide to the king, yes, the actual king and not Ichibe, looked them over.
"You put up with too much, my queen," Navar commented.
"Will you just shut up!" Ichigo demanded.
"We wish to see Orihime!" Uryu begged.
"Orihime?" Shirahime countered. "Ichigo, do you remember at all why Ichibe took her?"
"Why, yes," Ichigo admitted. "But no harm done! She was not successful."
"That's right!" Uryu agreed. "Nothing actually happened!"
"Yeah," Ichigo continued, "she totally failed at forcing herself on me! I mean the prince stopped her, so no one was harmed. After all, she's a girl, and everyone knows that girls can never rape boys! It only happens the other way around! Or boys on boys! Girls can never do it!"
"Are you effing kidding me?" Shirahime asked rhetorically.
"Shinnouhi, um, sorry, my queen," Mayuri Kurotsuchi interrupted, "I do have that last exchange on video tape. Shall I distribute it at Kurosaki's high school?"
"Yes," Shirahime agreed, "and all over the Internet. It's very important to spread awareness of this sexist belief over this crime."
"Wise, as always," Navar said. "I trust that Fake Princess' attempted sexual assault upon Ichigo was also distributed?"
"Yes, indeed," Shirahime said. "It has now been seen by her classmates, whether after an approval from the school or as a leak, I am not sure. As a precaution, considering she was a minor, it was not mass distributed, only distributed to the local authorities, certain school officials, and some in the hospitals. Someone has been covering for her pathetic self, so extra distribution was necessary. No opportunity to allow her behavior to be swept under a rug. Although, I may not have minded, as it would be a perfect reason to kill the people who did it. I despise people covering for such a violation!"
"It would have been glorious to watch you torture them to death, Your Majesty. I am sure some foolish mortal is helping out Fake Princess. Even though this young boy, Ichigo, will suffer. Hey, do you think he did it? Is he some type of -?"
"Don't even go there. I mean I could analyze it, but he is still a child. I'm not wearing a "doctor hat" right now, so I'd rather not be bogged down with deal with children who need certain "help" at the moment. I have my own children to take care of and to protect from both Fake Princess and her allies that have arranged for her protection." She held out a handwritten scroll to Navar. "A list of convenient allowances already strangely given to Fake Princess which defy the law of the Soul King and the orders of all of zero division. I would like to have a trusted aide of yours hunt this down and dispose of the culprit in the way of the Emperor of Heaven."
"If they are found to be underage?"
"Then take the trial before Ichibe and the Soul King. In fact, allow the real heads of the noble families to make judgment. Do not shield whomever it is. I am certain none of my loyal children - shall I say those who deserve to be counted as them - would dare defy our law."
She looked to Ichigo and Uryu. "I don't think you two understand. If you wish to be part of this world, then you must obey our laws."
"Since when do you defend them, Shira?" Ichigo questioned.
"The sections of the law from the time of the Emperor of Heaven are those I have always approved of. Ichibe did not make those.
"Orihime is automatically subject to it. She had the fragments of the abomination - those fairies. Instead of denouncing them, she used them to further her wicked plans. The fact that I and your previous self struck them down does not negate her responsibility. I have been merciful. Do you think either the Emperor of Heaven would have cared or the Soul King care differently on application of law simply because Orhime was a minor?"
"She still is a minor," Uryu pointed out.
"Oh, you don't know then?" Navar asked. "Priest Ichibe changed that. I suppose it could be changed back."
"You know, Ichigo," Shirahime said, "you're getting these anonymous DMs from all over the Internet reaching out to check on your wellbeing. A few inappropriate offers as well. And your father's clinic is often visited by people simply wishing to check on your wellbeing."
"I'm okay!" Ichigo insisted. "Nothing happened! She didn't even somehow get a sample from me to get pregnant."
"That's right," Uryu insisted. "So, can we have her back now?"
Chad walked up to them. He'd been keeping quiet until now. "Do you two even hear yourselves? Shirahime, I think Uryu's dad needs to put them in touch with a counselor."
"I agree," Shirahime said.
"You are a bit wise yourself, human," Navar said.
"Oh, my queen," Mayuri interrupted, "that new video is swiftly becoming popular on ViddTube. It would seem a few people recognize the boys and are posting very thorough comments."
"Thorough comments?" Ichigo asked.
"You can read them later," Mayuri said. "Wait a moment, here are some comments from your father and both of your sisters!"
"What?" Ichigo asked. "I want to see that!"
"No need," Navar said. "I'll simply bring them here."
"But you can't -!" Ichigo objected.
After a blinding bright light, Isshin and his daughters appeared.
"Wow, where are we, dad?" Yuzu asked.
Isshin looked around. "Oh, well last time I was here, I was stuck in that nightmare."
"You mean the one where Fake Princess raped Ichigo and got pregnant?" Karin asked. "But in the end, that turned out to be real! At least, what happened was."
"No, no, that's not right!" Ichigo insisted, coming over to them.
"Oh, yeah," Yuzu said. "Not technically. Orihime failed and never got pregnant. But lots of people saw the video. Don't worry, big brother, nobody's going to let that obsessive girl near you anymore!"
"But it's okay!" Uryu said. "It's all fine. She's a girl after all."
"Says the sexist people who believe females never rape anyone," Karin spat back. "Bet Ichigo would be singing a different tune if Fake Princess got what she wanted. Especially if she got pregnant!"
"Well, I'd just marry her then," Ichigo said. "Of course, I would. I'd do right by my kid!"
"You effing dumbass kid!" Kenpachi shouted.
"I think she'd probably have all parental rights removed," Retsu guessed.
"Probably a restraining order preventing her from seeing the child as well," Nanao added.
"And if that was not automatic, I'd sure as hell fight for it!" Isshin declared. "Ichigo, my boy, I've really got to get you to counseling. Everything you said is wrong. Why do you accept these things? And why are you so sexist about it? Don't you read the paper? Female on male crime, female on female crime, female on child crime. Haven't you ever heard of any of it?"
"Nope, apparently not," Shirahime said.
"So, hime-sama, why are we all here?" Isshin asked. "Did Orihime go to hell already, and we missed it?"
"Damn," Karin said, "I wanted to see that!"
"You could say she did," Shirahime admitted. "In fact, Ichigo and Uryu here want her back. I mean, according to Ichigo, no harm and no foul. And Uryu as well."
"She can stay in hell," Chad said.
All the shinigami agreed. Even Yamamoto.
"You've got to return Orihime!" Ichigo shouted.
"If we do, then do not ever complain when she pulls it again! Even if she is successful many times over!" Shirahime demanded.
"Please don't send Fake Princess back," Yuzu begged.
"Then, I'll kill myself!" Ichigo shouted. "Bring her back! It's my fault!"
"What an immature child to use that to get what you want," Shirahime said. She looked to Ichigo's family. "You all heard what I said about he should not complain next time?"
They nodded.
"I think Ichigo might mean it," Isshin said. "I don't want him to kill himself. Even if this is just a nightmare."
Shirahime nodded. "Okay, kids, get ready for a magic show! After all, this is a nightmare, so anything can happen."
"It'd be a real nightmare if Orihime came back from hell," Karin said.
Shirahime brought up her hands and passed them around each other. Navar eyed her curiously, and she glared at him. He turned away.
Divine blue fire formed in her hands, and she pushed them outward towards a table.
The fire died down, and the fairies of Shun Shun Rikka appeared. They saw her and quickly bowed.
"Shinnouhi," they all greeted.
"Actually, I am the queen now."
"Your Majesty," they corrected themselves.
"Are you aware at what Fake Princess who believes she is your master has done?" Shirahime asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Ayame said. "We know."
"Ichigo wishes to have her back," Shirahime said. "Uryu as well. So, next time she pulls the same thing, don't interfere. Of course, you don't have to help her, but don't stop her."
They bowed their foreheads to the table.
"Wow, what are those?" Yuzu asked.
"Orihime's wicked fairies," Shirahime answered. "They work for my wicked father-in . . . husband now?"
"Your father-in-law forced you to marry him?" Karin gasped. "But what happened to his son?"
"Got murdered."
"Did he do it?"
"Um, that answer is complicated."
"That's also part of this nightmare?" Yuzu hoped.
"Nope," Shirahime said. "That part is real."
"Enough of this!" Ichigo shouted. "Shirahime, I'll marry you later."
"Wow," Shirahime said, "did not even ask. In fact, I said quite the opposite."
"My queen is wed already," Navar said.
"I object!" Uryu objected.
"Shut up, Uryu," Shirahime said.
"But mom!" he whined.
"Don't you "but mom" me!" she exclaimed. "You didn't seem to mind Orihime was really pleased I was dead, did you? Some son you are."
"He can't be your son," Navar said.
"It's complicated," Shirahime explained.
"With you, my queen, it's always complicated."
"Get Ichibe over here," Shirahime hissed.
"Ichibe?" Isshin repeated. Aside from Toshiro, Rangiku, Kisuke, Tessai, Yoruichi, Ryuken, and Shirahime, it appeared no one knew he used to be a shinigami. Regardless, he knew that name, and he was afraid of it. Even if any reaction from him would betray his real identity.
The ground shook and a portal from the Royal Realm ripped through the air. Priest Ichibe and twenty of his men appeared. Two of them dragged an adult Orihime who for some reason had her eyes wide and could not blink.
Ichibe smirked.
"Show respect or die," Shirahime demanded.
Ichibe huffed, grinned, then rammed his fist - literally - through ten of his men.
Orihime screamed at the explosion of blood and gore and cried out as she could - literally - not shut her eyelids.
"You did not kill all of them," Shirahime complained.
Ichibe and the remaining men, except the two holding Orihime, knelt and pressed their foreheads to the ground.
"Forgive us," one of the two standing men said.
"You have the prisoner. You are excused. Just show your respect before you leave," Shirahime permitted.
"Oh, Ichibe?" Navar prompted. "Do you remember when you were here last, and His Majesty called her his queen?"
"Yes," Ichibe answered.
"Well, His Majesty was not kidding. So, no more taking from the queen."
"I'll talk some sense into the Soul King," Ichibe promised. "She'll be Shinnouhi again in no time."
"See, you're a nobody!" Orihime shouted when she got enough courage.
The guard that had not spoken to Shirahime punched Orihime.
"You're known as Fake Princess," Ichibe said. "As that is what you are, a fake. Your name may say you are a princess, but that is all. You are nobody's princess."
"She's my princess," Uryu said. "And stop hurting her!"
Orihime laughed. "Is that you, my sweet Ichi-kuuuuuuun? You know I didn't do as they say I did. Of course not! I'd be pregnant, and we'd be married. No worries, I can try again! Oh, but not again. If I really tried, I'd be successful."
"Let's start a drinking game for every time she whines Kurosaki-kuuuuuuun," Isshin said.
"Technically, she said "Ichi" this time, dad," Yuzu pointed out.
"Who cares?" Isshin asked.
"Can I kill her now?" Ichibe asked, gesturing to Orhime.
"No!" Ichigo shouted.
"Yes!" Karin exclaimed. "This is just a nightmare anyway. Since nobody's really going to die, might as well have that happen!"
"Remove her tongue for ten days," Shirahime said. "That should shut her up. She won't need it in the mental institution she'll be going to."
"Mental institution?" Uryu asked.
"Thank the gods," Isshin said.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, Shirahime," many of the shingami said.
"Thank you, God Queen," many from the fifth division said.
Shirahime turned to Ichigo and Uryu. "She needs to go. She'll have a psych eval before she'll attend your school again. I don't care what your normal procedure is. She's now convinced the whole even did not happen for the sole reason that she was not successful, did not become impregnated by you, Ichigo, and therefore did not have you guilt-tripped into marrying her. They'll let her out and say due to her delusion of never committing said crime she's not a danger to society."
"Thank you," Ichigo said.
"But they'll admit she's a danger to you. Your school already made arrangements so that she is no longer in your classes. Someone pulled some strings so that she's still at the school, but she's not in your classes."
"But that means I won't see her as often," Uryu said, frowning.
"Oh, go cry a river, won't you?" Shirahime suggested.
"Dad," Yuzu complained, "this really is a nightmare."
"Sure is," he agreed.
Shirahime held out her hands to Shun Shun Rikka.
The fairies bowed again and stood in her hands.
She went over to Orihime.
"Look, Orihime, I resurrected your fairies. Perhaps your mental state will improve."
"Thank you, Your Majesty," Ayame said. "We regret now we serve Fake Princess instead of you."
"They called me Your Majesty!" Orihime exclaimed. "I'm going to marry Ichigo after all, and he'll be king!" The fairies rolled their eyes and floated above Shirahime's hands.
"King!" Ichigo exclaimed. "Great! Then Shirahime will be forced to marry me!"
"King?" Shirahime countered. "Ichibe here will lobotomize you and use you literally as parts. Hey, Yamamoto, tell Ichigo and Isshin and the girls the real truth about the betrayal of the noble families. Tell Ichigo so he will not doubt what the Soul King is now. And Shunsui? You guys know that in case the Soul King no longer functions that you plan to make Ichigo into the next Soul King.
"Explain it all to this mortal. And he's mortal, so he won't last as long. Then you'll be looking again."
She turned to Ichibe. "I commanded you. You'd better follow through. Let Fake Princess keep her tongue until she returns to the Human World."
Orhime's two guards bowed low and showed their respect to her.
"Wait, my queen," Navar said.
She turned to him.
"Fake Princess believes she will be the queen. Let us show what the Soul King has said on this. Please forgive my forwardness, but please lower your clothing just a bit."
Ichigo had very inappropriate hope.
"I suggest you get your mind of the gutter, mortal," Navar demanded. "Besides, you are a child, and we don't tolerate that sort of thing here. Haven't you noticed?" He turned to Orihime. "By the way, those unspoken thoughts were about her and not you." He came to Shirahime. "Actually, my queen, if I may? I shall be delicate."
He gently pulled on the upper parts of her clothing, allowing skin just below her shoulders to show, then a bit further. Never more than what a bikini would show.
He motioned to Orihime's guards. They moved closer.
"Fake Princess, be sure to see this. I will read it out so that everyone can be informed."
The characters for "Shinnouhi" appeared glowing in blue on her skin. Then came others.
"You see," Navar said, "though she still retains "Shinnouhi," there are others now. I shall read for you. Queen of Heaven, Mother of the Imperial Children, General of the King's Army." He paused. "Ah, yes. I should not read the others. Guards, let us read the ones on Fake Princess."
One guard tugged on her clothing, and it fell away to reveal a bikini top. As much as Uryu might have liked to look, he and everyone were now distracted by the characters fading into view.
"Allow to read these on her, Queen of Heaven," Ichibe said. He began reading. "Fake Princess, Destroyer of the Royal Family, One Who Coveted the Crown Prince, The Rejected." Ichibe looked at the audience. "Here are instructions. Fake Princess is banned from the Royal Realm and that which is called Soul Society. Any defiance will be met with execution, including those who aide her. Further punishment shall be enacted for laws 13567 - 13971. Let me translate that part for you, mortals, you don't even want one of those laws to apply. To have all those laws apply? Just kill yourselves first. Friendly advice."
"Has His Majesty demanded all to see them?" Shirahime asked.
"Only those with spiritual power. Those in the human would would include the substitute and his family, the quincy and his family, that intelligent mortal," he guested to Chad, "and some others."
"Tell my husband I am pleased," she said and walked away. "Come along, my children," Shirahime called out. "Oh, and that doesn't include you, Uryu. And Nemu? Mind if you stay to help your father in case of trouble? But the others, let's go. Fifth division, once they return to the Royal Realm, put the barrier back in place. Come along, kids!"
"Yes, mom!" Yachiru called as she took Daichi's hand. Raiko hid in his mind again. Hanataro followed along, keeping the others from getting a good look at Daichi. In the crowd, another figure walked away, not noticed by anyone but Shirahime.
"Always adopting children, isn't she?" Navar remarked.
"So, it seems," Ichibe agreed, believing that her only child that still lived was Yachiru.
