As promised, here is Yukio and his possibly futile attempts to get the council to kill Mephisto and force him to tell where exactly Rin is and how to get him back.

Also, at the end of this chapter in the author's note as well as on my profile page, I am doing a little survey for this story, so please take a look at the author's note! :3

Anywhatsit, onto the story!

3rd Person POV

Yukio sat in a small waiting room, every so often looking at the clock in irritated impatience

I was supposed to go in for my meeting half an hour ago, damnit! He silently hissed, lacing his fingers together to rest on while his arms bounced up and down in sync with the knees they were on.

Yukio had called in and scheduled this meeting only that morning, ignoring any efforts to tell him that the council would be far too busy to hear yet another of his absurd rants on the supposed "abduction" of his brother. As far as the council was concerned, Mephisto had proven that Rin was simply away on a mission in the most northern parts of Japan, in a place that really didn't have any means of convenient communication.

And the fact that they believed a demon over Yukio was what made the exorcist so angry. After all, he was one of the very best at the Cross Academy; did they really think that he would lie about his own brother?

Finally, Yukio was snapped out of his brooding by an exasperated female voice calling "Okumura? Yukio Okumura? The council will see you now." He looked up and saw the receptionist lady holding a very official looking clipboard and looking as if she would rather be anywhere else but there.

"I'm here. Thank you, Miss," he said, ever the good-natured teenager. After all, he may have been in the worst mood of his life, and not to mention sleep-deprived, but he still felt the need to be respectful to his elders.

He walked brusquely past her and down the extravagant hallway, fists clenched tight to keep himself from showing much of his frustration externally. Acting like an enraged lunatic wouldn't make his story any more believable.

Once he got to the doors, he clenched his fists tighter, stopping just short of actually breaking the skin and ending up with a bloody hand. He had to prepare himself; after all, the council had already denied his claims many times before this in the past few days following Mephisto's admittance to Yukio. They had said that, even if they wanted to, there was nothing they could do until Rin could be officially declared missing.

But that was several weeks away, far too long for Yukio to just sit around and wait.

By then, Rin could be corrupted and deceived into thinking he wasn't human, and that he was 100% one of those disgusting, wretched, filthy demons! And that was something that Yukio was not prepared in the least to deal with. Not now, not ever.

Finally steadying himself and remembering the speech he had prepared for why they should believe him and not the traitor Mephisto, he pushed open the door.

However, every word left him as he saw who exactly was already in the room. "Ah, Yukio!" came the voice from the purple-haired demon. "Good, we were just talking about you…"

Mephisto smirked, waving one hand at the boy. I've had you in checkmate a long time, my boy… the demon thought, relishing the look of shock and disgust apparent on the speechless human's face. It makes me happy to know that you were not chosen to rule. Such rashness would be unbefitting of a prince.
