23 – Devotion
Your loyalty lies with your family first, his father had told him, and second with the Chiss Empire. It was a precarious balance. On some days he had to stop and think over every decision and every word before doing or saying anything.
When he is exiled he wonders what else there is to hold on to. And if, for the first time in his life, he just might be free: to choose what he wants to love.
"You," Jaina said icily, "Better decide where your loyalties lay, flyboy, quickly."
