25 – Blood
Jaina's side of the bed is empty. Jag finds her in the bathroom.
The white light draws out her features harshly. She is furiously scrubbing at her hands but the water that rushes down the drain is clear. He wraps her in a soft towel and makes her sit down on the bed side, carefully inspecting her sore hands. She is trembling uncontrollably.
"Jaina," he tells her softly. "Jaina. It's okay. Ssshh. Sleep."
She breaks a bit more with every loved one they lose and he cannot help her other than by simply being there.
We're alive.
It's never enough.
