Ch. 22 I've moved on

(Elizabeth's point of view)
Jason went back to work. I still had two days before I could get back to work and school. Alan wanted me to recover. I love the Pent House but decided it was time to get back to my studio.
Grams had been released from the hospital. Steven was living with her and helping her. She asked me to stay too. I said no I needed to stand on my own. She understood how I felt.
I painted for a while. Francis and I shared a pizza. Max showed up and we gave him a few pieces. Jason called and said he would be by later. I was doing some homework. Then Nikalos and Emily arrived.
"Hey Em, Nikalos." I said greeting them both with hugs.
"How are you feeling?" Nikalos asked me.
"I'm better." I answered.
"Are you sure Liz?" Emily asked.
"Yeah honestly I feel mentally and physically much better." I answered reassuring them.
We sat down and caught up on each other lives and going on. I noticed both Nikalos and Emily frowning as I mentioned Jason. I wasn't sure what I should do. I couldn't help my feelings for Jason.
"So Elizabeth we were thinking." Emily said nervously.
"Yeah." I said encouraging her to go on.
"We want to have a memorial service for Lucky." Nikalos said.
"Why?" I asked confused we had a funeral for Lucky.
"After all this I feel as though I lost him all over again." Nikalos said.
"Do you feel the same way?" I asked Emily.
"Well yeah I mean we grieved for Lucky when he was still alive. Then there was all the imposter stuff." Emily answered.
"What about you Elizabeth?" Nikalos asked.
"I don't know. I kind of have already been forced to deal with it all." I answered.
"How can you say that?" Emily asked me.
"Easily Emily. I had to deal with the fact I let the imposter into my life and that Lucky was really gone." I tried to explain.
"Do you mind if we have a memorial?" Nikalos asked me.
"No of coarse not. I will be there also. If you need anything let me know." I said.
"Why do I feel like you already moved on?" Emily asked.
"Emily I love you but, you don't understand me." I said.
"Are you in love with Jason?" Nikalos asked me.
"I don't know yet. I do know I have real feelings for him. Luke and Laura said we need to all move forward. If you need this to move forward then I support you." I said.
[Three days later]
I was waited patiently for Jason. Today was Lucky's memorial. As usual Jason was there to listen. I explained this was mainly for Nikalos and Emily. Jason not only understood he said I could use this to move forward and say a final goodbye.
"Elizabeth are you ready?" Jason asked.
"Yes let's go." I said looking at Jason in his black suit.
"Are you okay?" Jason asked on the drive.
"I think I am." I answered.
"No one will judge or hurt you today. They will have to go through me." Jason promised.
"Thank you Jason." I said leaning over and kissing his cheek.
"You look beautiful." Sonny said greeting me.
"Thank you I'm glad you're here both of you." I said looking at him and then Carly.
"Francis and Johnny are here too." Sonny said.
"Where do you want to sit?" Jason asked me.
"I don't care as long as it's with you." I answered.
"Liz aren't you sitting with us?" Emily asked pointing to Nikalos and herself.
"Emily let Elizabeth sit where she feels comfortable." Lila said making me smile.
"Elizabeth, Jason please come join us." Grams said as I saw Steven, Francis, and Johnny.
"Thank you all for being here." I said to them take time to hug them.
"Hello Elizabeth." I heard from in front of me.
"Laura, Luke." I said with a smile.
"How are you?" Laura asked looking concerned.
"Better everyday." I answered.
"Can we talk after the service?" Laura asked as I nodded.
Bobbi, Lesley, and other family were sitting with Luke and Laura. The Quatermaines and Nikalos sat on the other side. I could tell Emily was upset with me. Nikalos gave me a sad smile.
The service started. They gave Nikalos and Emily a chance to speak first. Then Luke and Laura spoke together. Bobbi went next. Then I saw Robin. I was surprised she was there. I looked at Jason. He seemed to be concentrating on me. Robin talked about Stone and Lucky. Robin hugged Sonny before sitting with Mac.
"Would anyone else like to speak?" Nikalos asked.
"I would." I said as I stood squeezing Jason's hand.
"Will you be okay?" Jason whispered.
"Come with me please." I said.
"I will." He said following me.
"I feel as though I already grieved. I do need and want to say a final goodbye. To my first love. I found a poem that speaks well to losing a loved one." I said.
"You're doing great." Jason said softly.
"Death is easy. The hardest part is who you leave. A true love is one that lives in your heart. Living is hard but you must move on. The best way to live is to love onwards. Do not cry. I am with you. I am watching over you. I am an Angel. I am in heaven looking down wanting only good for you." I said crying a little.
"I got you." Jason said as he hugged me.
"Thank you." I said as we sat back down quietly.
