[One Month Later]
Grams called and asked if I could come over for dinner. She also invited Jason. We were all set to go when something came up. Jason had a meeting he had to attend. I went to Grams alone.
When I arrived I noticed the suitcases and boxes. I was confused. Grams hadn't said anything about going on a trip. I thought maybe that's why she invited me over. I went towards the kitchen. Grams was making my favorite beef stew.
"Hello Elizabeth." Grams said.
"Hi are you going on a trip?" I asked.
"Not exactly Dear." She answered.
"What's going on?" I asked worriedly.
"We should eat. We wouldn't want it to get cold." She said.
"Okay fine." I said with a sigh.
Dinner was mostly quiet. Then Grams started to look upset. I got a strange feeling in my stomach. When Grams suggested we should sit on the couch. I felt even worse.
"Sarah called me a few weeks ago." Grams said.
"How is she?" I asked confused by the change of subject.
"She's good. She said she'll call you soon. She is back in the states and she got a job in Arizona." Grams answered.
"That's great." I said.
"It's actually the hospital that Steven is going to work for also." Grams said.
"Um okay." I said unsure where she was going with this.
"Sarah would like me to move in with them. I've thought about it and I need to get away." Grams said.
"When do you leave?" I asked trying to stay calm.
"In a few days. I've been trying to tell you for weeks. I let my judgment lead both you and I into danger. I need to heal." Grams said.
"What about the house?" I asked.
"You could live here?" Grams suggested.
"I don't know. What will happen if I don't?" I asked I truly didn't want to live in the house alone.
"One of the nurses at GH is looking to rent a house for her family. I could give her a good deal." Grams said.
"You'd still own it though?" I asked.
"Yes and I would want you to check on the house. I'll be back to visit and I may one day want to live here again." Grams said.
"Oh Grams I'm going to miss you so much." I said as I broke down and started to cry.
"I will miss you too Sweet girl. I will only be a phone call away. I expect you to keep me updated." She said as she hugged me.
"Tell the nurse she can rent the house." I said.
"Promise me you'll visit me." Grams said crying also.
"I will." I promised.
"I love you Sweet Elizabeth." Gram said.
"I love you too Grams." I said.
"I'll call you tomorrow." Grams said as I got ready to leave.
"Okay." I responded as I left.
I ran to Francis who was waiting. He hugged me. He asked what was wrong but I just shook my head. We drove in silence to the studio.
When we arrived Francis wanted to come in with me. I told him I just wanted to be alone. He asked again what was wrong. I just said I didn't want to talk about it. He said to let me know if I needed anything.
After crying for a bit I fell asleep. Suddenly I felt someone moving my hair. They kissed my head. I knew who it was as I woke slowly.
"Jason?" I whispered.
"I'm here." Jason whispered back to me.
"I thought you were working after your meeting." I said.
"Audrey called me. She told me she was moving. She knew you were upset and she didn't want you alone." Jason explained.
"Is Sonny mad?" I asked concerned.
"Not at all he understood. Johnny took my place." Jason answered.
"I'm so shocked. I had no idea how guilty and sad she is. I'm going to miss her so much." I said.
"I know you are." Jason said.
"Thank you for being here." I said.
"There is no where I'd rather be." Jason responded.
Jason held me as I cried. I finally fell back to sleep. I woke up hours later. Jason was asleep next to me. I knew even with Grams gone I would be okay.
Saying goodbye to Grams was very difficult. I knew I would see her soon. Jason even offered to go with me in a couple of months. I owed Grams more than I could ever pay back.
Jason and I were alone together. I packed up the last of my stuff I had left at Grams. I felt so sad. Jason said he had a surprise for me. He said he was sure it would cheer me up. I did my best to try and believe him.
