Ch. 28 Babysitting

(Jason's Point of view)
I knew Elizabeth was down. I had the prefect plan. One person I know can lift anyone's spirits and distract them. I told Elizabeth I had a plan.
She looked confused. Then she looked even more confused when we arrived at Sonny's and Carly's. Johnny wasn't at the door. When we went in Michael ran to us.
"Where are Sonny and Carly?" Elizabeth asked looking around.
"Daddy and Mommy are having a date night. Max said that you and Jason are my babysitters." Michael answered her excitedly.
"Yes we are. Do you want to stay here or go across the hall?" I asked as Elizabeth and I both smile at him.
"Across the hall. Let's go." Michael yelled grabbing our hands.
"Have fun and you can blame Carly for the sugar rush." Max yelled.
Michael ran around in circles. Elizabeth just laughed. I was going to call for pizza when I saw Michael. He sprayed me with the sprayer from the kitchen sink. Elizabeth started laughing until he sprayed her too.
Elizabeth and I chased Michael around. Finally I caught him. I started to tickle him. Elizabeth joined us and helped me. Elizabeth looked so happy though she and I were soaking wet.
A short time later I took a shower. When I took down stairs it was quiet. I saw Elizabeth reading to Michael. I watched them. Eventually Michael fell asleep.
"Do you mind if I take a shower?" Elizabeth asked quietly.
"No go ahead." I answered.
"Thank you." She said.
"I put a t-shirt and sweats in the bathroom." I said.
"Oh thank you." She said.
"Can I get a kiss before you go?" I asked playfully.
She kissed me. A few seconds later she ran upstairs. I called the pizza in. Francis brought the pizza up a little later. Michael woke up and giggled. I looked to see Elizabeth had tied my t-shirt up and my sweats were rolled up. She was blushing. I thought she looked adorable.
"Jason do you think Momma and Daddy will love the bay more than me?" Michael asked.
"No way Buddy you will always be their first kid." I said.
"Plus you're going to be a big brother." Elizabeth said.
"Baby's are so boring." Michael complained.
"You weren't boring as a baby." I said.
"I wasn't?" He asked.
"Nope he was fun. I would read to you and you liked to be tickled." I said.
"I can't read yet." Michael said sadly.
"You can tell the baby stories though." Elizabeth said.
"Will the baby listen if I tell her stories?" Michael asked turning to me.
"Yes she will." I answered.
My phone rang interrupting us. I answered it. I was annoyed at the fact that I needed to leave. There was a problem at the docks. Elizabeth assured me that she would be fine watching Michael. I hugged them and then left.
Two hours later I returned. I had picked up dinner from Kelly's. Michael was bouncing around. After dinner we watched a movie. Then Sonny and Carly came and got Michael.
I asked Elizabeth to stay the night. I had some paperwork to do but I didn't want her to leave yet. She agreed to stay. I went into my office. I heard her turning the TV.
"Emily it's different with Jason." I heard Elizabeth say as I came down the stairs.
"He's older though and more experienced." Elizabeth said responding.
"It's just hard for me to talk about." Elizabeth said sadly.
"Hi." I said not wanting to scare her.
"Emily I have to go. Bye." She quickly said hanging up my phone.
"Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt." I said.
"How much did you hear?" She asked looking worried.
"I heard enough to know we need to talk." I answered.
"Can we wait to talk?" She asked blushing.
"Sure we can wait." I said.
"Tomorrow. Let's just watch another movie." Elizabeth said.
"Okay." I agreed.
