We hope you enjoy the omake at the end as it was something that just popped into my head after one of the parts Naruisawesome wrote!

Naru sighed, got off the bed and went to go answer the door. Mai let out a breath she just realized she had been holding. She could hear the faint sound of voices in the hall. One of course belonged to Naru as she could hear her own voice quite clearly but she couldn't quite place the other one. She could hear that voice yelling though...

She felt like going to investigate but Naru would probably yell at her if she moved for any other reason than going to the bathroom. Maybe she could act like she's going to the bathroom... Ah, but Naru would probably see through that. But he's out there talking to the person, he may not see her! Still, it would probably be best to wait as their visitor may come and see her.

She sighed and just decided to wait to see what would happen. The voices got a bit louder, sounding as though they were moving toward where she was. The voices stopped right in front of her door, it seemed like they were still yelling. 'Wait...I know that voice!' Naru entered the room with a sulky expression.

"W-what's wrong with you?" Mai asked warily.

"We have a visitor." Naru said in a monotone voice.

"Who?" Naru moved away from the door and Monk came in.

"Why is Mai wearing your shirt?!"

"She couldn't find one of her own and asked to borrow one of mine." Mai replied calmly.

"Oh really? Because I saw a suitcase loaded with clothes in the living room!" Monk pointed out.

"Yes, well, you know how dippy Mai can be sometimes. She'd forget her head if it wasn't attached to her body." Mai sighed convincingly. "She apparently forgot to pack some, or at least some that are suitable to wear." She elaborated.

"Suitable to wear?!" Monk yelled and turned to Naru. "Mai what the hell do you wear?!"

"How the hell should I know?!" Naru replied without thinking. Mai chuckled a little at what he had said even though it could have some unwanted repercussions like Monk finding out the truth.

Monk glanced at Mai before back at Naru. "They're your clothes!" He reminded.

"Yeah...but...but he's the one with an issue with them." Naru invented.

Monk turned to Mai. "And why is that?"

Mai glared at Naru. "I think they are too...um...inappropriate for living with me, I might get ideas." She said as she tried to play along with what Naru had said.

"Get...ideas?!" Monk flabbergasted. "That's it! I think Mai needs to stay with me for a while!"

"No, I'm staying here." Naru protested but obviously Monk wasn't listening as he started walking towards Naru. "I'm not going." Naru repeated.

"Oh yes you are, even if I have to pick you up and carry you." Monk insisted as he continued forward towards Naru.

"I wouldn't do that." Mai tried to warn.

"You don't really have a say in this now do you Naru?" Monk more or less stated.

"Can't say I didn't warn you." Mai muttered as she laid back to watch Naru possibly kick the stuffing out of Monk if he tried to make Naru go anywhere.

Monk glared at Mai. "And what exactly is that supposed to mean?"

"Try abducting her and you'll find out." Mai replied cryptically. Monk just narrowed his eyes. Mai shrugged. If Monk didn't want to listen that was his choice, but she had tried to warn him about Naru. Monk proceeded and reached out to grab Naru's wrist. Naru immediately used his momentum against him and put Monk on the floor on his back. Mai just sighed again.

"I warned him not to and he didn't listen." She mumbled.

"Mai, what the hell?!" Monk asked rather ticked off.

"I told you I'm not going." Naru said as he stared impassively at Monk.

"There's no reason for you to stay here. And your things are still packed so don't give me that excuse." Monk said standing up.

"I suggest you either plug your ears in and listen to what I'm saying or face serious injury if you try to use force. I am staying here and that is my final decision." Naru stated calmly.

Monk just studied Mai and Naru for a moment. "That sounds like something Naru would say...and Mai could never do what you just did." He observed.

"I have been teaching her self-defence." Mai responded.

"And you've been teaching her your smart ass remarks too I'm guessing?" Monk asked unconvincingly.

"Hey, what she says is up to her." Mai replied.

"Mai started saying those things that you would normally say when you two started spending so much time together." Monk glanced between Mai and Naru.

"We have not been spending so much time together." Naru denied. "It's not my fault I got suspended from school and now have increased work hours whilst I wait to go back."

Monk's eyes widened in disbelief. "You got suspended from school?! Why?!"

"She beat a guy up remember?" Mai reminded.

Monk thought about it for a moment before remembering. "Doesn't matter." He said hastily. He's not going to admit he forgot. "Shouldn't Mai's apartment be ready for her to go back?"

"Um...no...it...it..." Mai floundered.

"There was a leak, yeah, and...it's too dangerous to go back." Naru took over.

Monk crossed his arms stubbornly and narrowed his eyes. "Really now?" Naru nodded. "Funny because Ayako told me it was fire bugs." He looked between Mai and Naru.

"Oh it was and now there's a leak." Mai said.

"How do you know that if you haven't been there?"

"They phoned Mai and told her." Mai explained hoping she was sounding convincing. Apparently she wasn't because Monk still seemed unconvinced. Both Mai and Naru sighed at Monk's stubbornness.

"Monk, as we've told you countless times-" Mai started but Monk cut her off.

"What did you just call me?"

"What do you mean?" Mai asked.

"You...you called me Monk. You never call me that." Monk stated, his suspicions rising higher.

"You must be hearing things." Mai said.

"No, no I know what I heard!" Monk flickered his eyes back and forth between the two a few times.

"Well, I didn't call you anything." She lied. Naru just rolled his eyes at her childishness. Then again she was trying to put Monk off the scent of their problem. If Monk found out then they could wave goodbye to the peace, quiet and time they needed to figure things out.

"Yes, you did!" Monk stood his ground.

"I didn't." Mai persisted.

"Stop trying to change my mind! I know what I heard!" Monk said irritated.

"Obviously." Mai muttered. Naru was just stood shaking his head at the pair of them.

Monk whipped around to look at Naru. "You're being very quiet...Mai."

"It's a little hard to get in between you two when you're arguing." Naru answered. Monk stepped forward and looked down at Naru.

"That's never stopped you before." He said suspiciously. "You would jump on my back if you had to."

"If you really want me to beat you up..." Naru started to suggest.

"I didn't say that! I meant you would just always try to do whatever you could to get us to stop arguing." Monk corrected.

"Well if you hadn't noticed we've had a rather hectic few days so I'm rather tired and could really do without you bursting in here and causing drama." Naru informed.

"Ah! See! You would never say something like that!" Monk said pointing at Naru. He then looked between Mai and Naru once again. "You two like..." He got his hands and combined them together.

"Are you implying we had sex?" Mai asked.

"You're crazy." Naru stated.

"What?! No! I'd kill-" Monk didn't know which one to address. "-whoever is Naru if you landed a hand on my little Mai!"

"What the hell are you talking about? He's lost it." Naru frowned.

"Agreed." Mai replied.

"I think you need to go home and rest before you go completely nuts." Naru recommended.

"I'm not crazy! Somehow you two...are each other! I don't know how but you are!" Monk claimed.

"That's ridiculous." Mai stated.

"But it's true!"

"Monk I think you should just go home and rest." Naru tried to smooth things over. "Obviously you're feeling very distressed at my decision and are looking for any explanation to make it make sense. I think you really need to go home, relax, have a drink and try to realize that you're being a bit silly about all this. I'm staying here to look after Naru as he has kindly offered me a place to stay while my apartment is being fixed and I should repay that kindness by taking care of him, nothing more." He continued in a soothing, almost hypnotic, tone. Mai was about to speak but Naru glared at her. Monk looked like he was thinking about what Naru had said.

"I don't know..." Monk started off warily.

"I assure you. Everything is fine and nothing more than innocent friendship you are just overthinking things." Naru reassured. Mai rolled her eyes and scoffed. 'Innocent friendship? Then why did you try to kiss me? Twice!' Naru glared at her again. Mai just gave a look that said 'What?!'. Naru gave her a look back that said 'I'm trying to get him to leave here and you're not making it any easier'. Mai held her hand out and gestured to Monk. 'Go ahead then.'

Monk frowned at them and Naru plastered a fake smile on his face. "Naru was just being moody because he hasn't had another cup of tea yet and I was about to make one when you knocked on the door." He lied. Monk still wasn't sure what to say or do.

"You were leaving?" Naru prompted when he saw the lost look on Monk's face. Monk looked at Naru. Naru looked at Monk right back in an impassive manner again. Mai just gave a 'this is never going to end' look. She let out a sigh.

"Takigawa, I'm very tired right now. I'd appreciate if you let us be." Monk turned to look at Mai. She waved her hand in a 'shoo' motion. Monk sighed.

"Fine...But I know something's up...I will find out and have evidence!"

"Goodbye." Mai sighed wearily. "Show him out won't you?" She said to Naru. Naru said nothing but did as told.

"By the way Naru, have a shave, you look like a bum." Monk advised just before he left.

"I told you." Naru said. Mai felt around her chin and cheeks.

"It's not that bad surely." She insisted as she felt the prickly hair that covered her cheeks and chin.

"Keep telling yourself that Mai."

Mai huffed and crossed her arms. "Yeah, well, you know I'm not going to shave until you agree to do the same." She responded stubbornly.

"And yet no-one has commented about me but they have about you as you're making me look scruffy and like I've dodged the bathroom." Naru stated.

"You know what?!" She asked testily as she threw the covers off of her. "I'll go do it! Right now." She's sick and tired of him complaining about it. She's gonna prove him wrong! She's going to do like she's supposed to and try to act like Naru even if he's not going to do the same with her. 'I'll give him a taste of his own medicine.'

"Fine, you do that." Naru said as he watched her charge, albeit a little unsteadily, into the bathroom. She said nothing as she slammed the bathroom door. Naru heard water start to run and drawers slamming. He guessed she was trying to find the razor.

"Mai, my shaving gear is in the shower." He called through the door. He tried to open it but it was locked. "Why have you locked the door?" Mai smirked from inside the bathroom. "Mai!"

"Yes?"

"Answer me. Why have you locked the door?"

"Because I wanted to. What does it matter to you anyways?" She asked as she began putting shaving cream on her face.

"I guess it doesn't." Naru admitted.

"Exactly." Mai mumbled. She was now concentrating on removing the shaving cream and hair from her face with a razor. 'It can't be that hard. It's just a bit awkward with all these small nooks like the bit under my nose and by my cheekbones. How does Naru get those bits?' She pondered over if she should ask him. 'No, I'll try it by myself first!' She gave it a go but found it really difficult. She sighed in frustration. She stomped to the door and unlocked it. When she grumpily opened the door, she saw Naru leaning against the wall beside the door.

"I can't do it." She muttered. Naru had to repress a smirk. "It's not funny."

"Actually it kind of is."

"Oh really?! And why is that?!" Mai demanded to know.

"You thought you'd just automatically know how to shave your face. I knew you wouldn't have been able to." He replied nonchalantly.

"Yeah?! Well, I'd like to see how you do with underarms and legs Mr Hotshot-know-it-all." Mai challenged.

"That's different." Naru stated pushing off the wall.

"Really? Prove it."

"Reverse psychology isn't going to work on me Mai." He simply said.

"I wasn't trying to use reverse psychology, you're the one who thinks he knows everything."

"Mai do you want me to help you or not?" Naru asked getting irritated.

"Yes." Mai sighed irritably.

Naru moved into the bathroom and Mai followed. He instructed her to sit on the edge of the tub as it was near the sink whilst he squirted some shaving cream into one of his hands. She did as she was told and he approached her then gently started applying the cream to the places she had missed.

He then picked up the razor and started his task, gently moving and stretching any skin that was difficult to reach such as the skin between her nose and cheekbone. He then ordered her to suck her lips into her mouth which stretched the skin under her nose and around her mouth and reduced the possibility of cutting her lip in any way.

When he had finished he handed her a damp washcloth to wipe away any excess shaving cream and examined his handiwork, smiling at the excellent job he had done.

"Ah, perfect." He declared before exiting the bathroom. Mai stood up from the tub and went to the mirror above the sink to see the work Naru had done. Naru had shaved her smoothly and cleanly, in fact she couldn't tell that there had been any hair there to begin with. She left the bathroom and went to find him to thank him.

Omake

When he had finished he handed her a damp washcloth to wipe away any excess shaving cream and examined his handiwork, smiling at the excellent job he had done.

"Ah, perfect." He declared before exiting the bathroom. Mai stood up from the tub and went to the mirror above the sink to see the work Naru had done. Shaved neatly on each cheek was Naru's favourite word, 'IDIOT'! She left the bathroom and went to find him to give him a piece of her mind.

Treelow955:- He sure was! *shiver* That would probably be bad if he knew!

Naruisawesome:- Mmhmm! I think the bit where Naru shaved Mai was great, the real bit that is!

Treelow955:- I'm surprised I can still remember how to do that! It isn't a part of the body us females are familiar with shaving eh?!

Naruisawesome:- Sure isn't! But you were a carer though so I think it's normal for you to know that!
