We have another omake for you, but the credit has to go to Naruisawesome as she thought of it not me!
We do not own Ghost Hunt!
He wasn't in the bedroom so she slowly made her way into the living room. She found him sat on one of the sofas.
"Mai what are you doing? Go back to bed." Naru ordered standing up once he noticed her.
"I came to thank you for your help and I'm fine Naru." Mai informed. She walked a little closer to him.
"I still think you need more rest." Naru disagreed.
Mai rolled her eyes before giving a small smile. "How many more times do I have to tell you that I'm fine before you believe me? Honestly I feel a lot better than I did at the hospital."
"Fine, have it your way, just don't complain to me when you overdo it and are put back in the hospital." Mai said nothing. She walked over next Naru and sat down on the sofa.
"Better?" She asked once she was seated. He didn't answer her but the way his eyes shone, she noted, meant yes. She relaxed into the back of the sofa. Naru decided to sit down also after a moment. They both sat in silence for a while. Mai wondered if she should apologize for her behaviour earlier...She didn't know why but she was just in a mood. Naru let out a sigh.
Her eyes snapped over to him. "What?" She asked questioningly. He looked like he was trying to come up with the right words. She lifted her eyebrows but waited patiently for him to get it together. Naru shook his head, presumably giving up on trying to talk.
"Naru come on, please?!" She begged. "Didn't you just say like an hour ago that we should just say whatever's on our minds?"
"I was just wondering why you would willingly shave when you had said you wouldn't unless I did?" He questioned.
Mai sighed and looked down at her lap. "I don't know. I...Well Monk almost figured us out because I wasn't trying hard enough to act like you. So I've decided to do my best to do so...and you shave regularly so..." She shrugged lightly.
"I see. I...I suppose I should do the same as you're right, any differences in our routines could get us found out." Naru admitted. Mai nodded slowly. Naru sat unmoving on the sofa.
Mai waited but he never moved, she sighed. "Since you're not going to move right now," She mumbled under her breath. "I want to say I'm sorry...for the way I've been acting since I was in the hospital...for some reason I've just been moody since then." She apologized louder.
"I guess I don't blame you, I don't much like peeing in bottles either and I guess it would be a bit daunting for someone like you."
Mai tried her best not to demand what 'someone like you' meant. "I think I was being moody long before that though."
Naru just looked thoughtful. "Why do you think that is?" He asked after a while.
She took a shaky deep breath. "Honestly I don't remember."
"You must have some idea surely."
Mai tried as hard as she could to think back. "I...I think it might have been after I found you at the office..."
Naru frowned. "Why were you moody then, I mean I know you were upset by my disappearing but I thought we had sorted that out?"
She squinted her eyes lightly and repositioned herself on the sofa. "Oh yeah...you're right..." She remembered.
"So why were you moody?"
"Probably just being put in the hospital...I hate hospitals." She admitted. "My mom died in one." Naru nodded in understanding. Mai just pursed her lips and stared at the floor in a daze-like way.
"What's wrong? What are you thinking about?" Naru asked.
Her eyes snapped to look at him once she heard his voice, she looked at him in confusion. "Sorry, what?"
"You had this...look on your face. What were you thinking about?" He repeated.
"Oh...I was just, um...the day my mom died." She answered woefully.
"I...that's..." Naru was again lost for words and just nodded and awkwardly patted her shoulder. Mai gave a small smile and slightly shook her head at him. 'He's trying to comfort me...' "Reliving those times is awful." He said finally with a knowingness in his tone.
"Yeah...It had to be harder on you though..." Mai almost whispered. Naru just swallowed and looked away. Mai's eyes widened slightly before she too turned her head away. "Sorry."
"No it's...it's alright, it's not like I didn't already know that." Mai slowly nodded. They both fell silent again neither one really knowing what to do or say to get away from the awkward atmosphere.
Naru cleared his throat and got up. "I should probably go and use the bathroom."
Mai smiled lightly, glad for the interruption. "Ah, right, okay! Umm...are you still having...cramps?"
"A few, why?" Naru asked.
Mai shrugged a shoulder and looked up at him. "Just wondering. It should be over with soon." Naru frowned a little then shook his head. "What is it?" She inquired, confused by his actions.
"I was just wondering why you would ask such a pointless question if there was really no reason to." He informed.
Mai bit her lip as her cheeks became a light pink. "Um, well, usually it's five days I have it but once in a while it can be less or more..."
"I am still not seeing the point of you asking."
Mai had to bite back an annoyed comment. "Weren't you going to the bathroom?"
"Yes." Naru confirmed before turning and heading towards the door.
"Let me know if you need anything!" She called after him.
"Whatever." Came his reply. Mai sighed in satisfaction before looking around the couch and table trying to find the TV remote. When she couldn't find it she gave up and grabbed a book instead. 'Paranormal phenomena...that's probably all he has.' Then she saw something she didn't expect Naru to read. 'Manga?! Seriously?' She thought as she flipped through it. 'I would have never thought Naru would be one to read manga...I always thought he'd say it'd damage brain cells or something.' She decided that as that was the only decent reading going she'd entertain herself with that whilst Naru was gone. After half an hour of reading and no Naru, she laid the book on her lap and almost worriedly looked at the doorway which led to the hallway of the bathroom.
Meanwhile Naru was having problems of his own.
'How in the bloody hell does Mai do this?! I swear, you need eyes in your backside for this!' Naru hadn't even started shaving yet, he was just trying to figure out how to do it. 'You need to be a complete moron to try and remove hair without being able to see what you're doing.' Naru looked down and twisted his head to the side to try and look at the back of his legs. He almost slipped and fell over from the effort. Naru stopped and sighed in frustration.
"It's no good, I don't know what the hell I'm doing." He muttered to himself. He glanced at the closed door wondering if he should surrender and go ask Mai for help. 'I guess she did ask for my help when she needed it...' He thought. He sighed again but this time in defeat. He made his way to the door and when he opened it Mai was already leaning against the wall like he was doing before.
"I wondered how long it would take you to admit defeat." She said as she checked her watch. "I have to give you credit, you held out for over an hour." She closed the manga she had been reading whilst she waited.
Naru looked down at glared to the side. Mai sighed. "Come on." She said as she pushed past Naru to get into the bathroom. Naru followed her.
Mai looked around the bathroom and the counter. "You haven't started yet?"
"No." Naru replied sullenly.
"Why not?"
"Because you either need to be a moron or have eyes in your backside to do it is why." Mai gave a small chuckle. Naru gave her a 'what?!' look.
Mai shook her head. "Nothing...Do you just want me to do it while you...sit down...or something?" Naru nodded, albeit rather begrudgingly. "Okaay...Sit on the counter for now." Mai instructed. Naru walked over to the counter and tried to jump up a few times but couldn't do it. Mai sighed, walked over to Naru, gently grasped him by his hips and lifted him onto the countertop. Naru had begun blush but he quickly covered his cheeks with his hands. Mai raised an eyebrow.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing." Naru said from behind his hands. Mai stared at him for a moment longer before shrugging and not pressing matters anymore. She started grabbing the things she needed while Naru waited patiently. He started fidgeting a little and swinging his legs as he waited and almost kicked Mai in the nuggets at one point.
"Alright! Try not move unless I say so okay?" She asked before she began. Naru nodded so she proceeded to start. She rolled up her shirt sleeves to begin with and then selected the shaving cream from where she'd placed it. Naru watched her attentively as she did everything. She gently held his right leg to start as she smoothed shaving cream up it. That done she picked up the razor that was laying beside Naru on the counter. She began her work with the razor. She started at the bottom and went up.
"Oww." Naru complained after about three strokes.
"Oh hush up you pansy, just be glad it's not wax!" Naru glared but said no more about it. Mai continued her work and was soon moving on to Naru's other leg and just like before she put the shaving cream on it and smoothed it out. She grabbed the razor again and started her work. Naru started shifting about as though making a silent complaint.
"Have you got ants in your pants or something?" She asked irritated at having to stop what she was doing unless she wanted to cut Naru.
"No." He grumbled.
"Sit still then or I'll chop your leg off." She chided.
"Does it really take this long?" Naru retorted.
"Yes, it does, especially when you fidget and complain. It would go a lot faster if you didn't whine every five minutes, sucked it up and took it like a man." Mai replied. Naru started mumbling incoherent words.
"What? What are you saying Naru, I can't understand you when you mumble?"
Naru sighed. "Nothing, just talking to myself. Can you hurry up so we can be done with this?"
"I thought we said no secrets." Mai said as she grabbed a damp washcloth and began running it down Naru's legs.
"Talking to myself isn't a secret."
"Sure it is otherwise you would speak at a volume where I know what you're saying even if it is to yourself." She started patting his legs dry with a towel. Naru slightly placed his hands on hers before grabbing the towel and doing it himself. When he was done he stared at his legs, gazing at them wondrously. He then began lightly dragging his fingers up and down them, marvelling at the feeling.
"Do you want me to leave you and yourself alone?" Mai asked as she cocked an eyebrow. Naru was too deeply enraptured by his legs to hear her. 'It's so soft and creamy...'
"Oh geez! Earth to Naru, we are finished here."
'...I always wondered what Mai's legs felt like when she wore those miniskirts every day, but who knew they would feel so...'
Mai clapped her hands in front of him. "Naru!" Naru still didn't pay any attention. '...smooth and...'
She then grabbed him by the shoulders and started to shake him. "What's wrong with you?!"
"These legs are amazing." He said dazedly.
Mai stood there stunned as her eyebrows shot up. "Umm...thank you?"
"Hmm?" Naru grunted, finally paying attention to the fact Mai was there. Mai just stood there watching him. She didn't know what emotion to display right now. In the end she just sighed and left the bathroom.
Naru ran his hand down his leg and then back up as Mai was leaving. About a minute after Mai left he was fully aware that she was gone. He hopped down from the counter and went to go find her.
Omake
Mai sighed in satisfaction before looking around the couch and table trying to find the TV remote. When she couldn't find it she gave up and grabbed a book instead. 'Paranormal phenomena...that's probably all he has.' Then she saw something she didn't expect Naru to read. Her eyes widened as she flipped through it. It was a bunch of pictures of women practically naked!
