It had been a great year for Owen and Claire. They were set up on a blind date that to be honest didn't go well but they decided to give each other another chance and over time built a really strong loving relationship. They wound up falling in love with each other and they could genuinely say they were each other's best friends. They had gotten a little house together where they lived happily and it was close to both of their jobs. Claire ran the everyday operations at Jurassic world and Owen was a raptor trainer. They both loved their jobs. Claire was a bit of a workaholic so their would be weeks where they barely saw each other. This was becoming one of those weeks. They were going to be introducing a new dinosaur for Jurassic world this week so Claire spent a lot of her time making sure everything was running smoothly. Owen hated weeks like this because he preferred to see his girlfriend more than for a hour in the morning. He had a little surprise for her that would fix that.

Owen had just finished making breakfast and put it on a tray and walked into the bedroom he shared with Claire. Owen saw that Claire was waking up. "Good morning beautiful" Owen said kissing her and putting the tray in front of her.

Claire looked at it surprised. "You made me breakfast in bed" Claire said. Owen nodded his head. "What's the occasion" Claire asked.

Owen put on a shocked face and pretended to be offended. "Can't I do something nice for my girlfriend every once in a while" he asked as Claire picked up the fork and knife. She started to eat as Owen got in bed next to her. "So I was thinking since this week is so hectic and everything for you at work and we've barely seen each other we deserve a little vacation" Owen said.

Claire let out a little laugh. "I wish" she said. Owen pulled something out of the nightstand next to the bed. He handed it to her. She took it and looked at it in surprise. It was two tickets to Paris.

"What is this" Claire asked.

"A vacation for us" Owen said.

"Baby we can't afford this" Claire said.

"Actually I've been saving up money for us to be able to go away. I was thinking we could go this week but with everything happening at your job I thought maybe next week might be our best option and I know you said you always wanted to go to Paris so I thought we could go together just the two of us" Owen said.

Claire was speechless. "I don't know what to say" she said.

"Just say that you'll go with me" Owen said.

Claire put the tickets on the tray and cuddled into Owen. "Of course I'll go with you" she said kissing him. Owen deepened the kiss and they kept kissing until Claire abruptly stopped kissing him. "What about the raptors you train? Are you sure you can just leave them" Claire asked.

Owen laughed. "I'm sure Barry can handle them for the two weeks we would be gone" Owen said.

Claire nodded her head. "Yea your probably right" she said and went back to kissing him.

They continued kissing until Claire's phone buzzed. "You don't have to answer that" Owen said.

"It could be important" Claire said kissing Owen one more time than getting out of the bed to get her phone. This is exactly why they needed a vacation. So they could be alone without any distractions. He also had something he wanted to ask Claire and while they were away from all the distractions they dealt with on a daily basis would be the perfect time. "Crap" Claire said looking at her phone.

"What is it" Owen asked.

"I promised my sister my two nephews could come for a visit" Claire said.

"That's this week" Owen said.

Claire nodded her head. "What am I going to do? I can't pick them up. I'll be working all day. I guess I could just send Zara to pick them up" Claire said.

Owen stood up and wrapped his arms around her. "I can pick them up" Owen said.

"Are you sure" Claire asked.

"Yea I'm sure" Owen said kissing her.

"I love you" Claire said.

"I love you too" Owen said.

Owen was at the dock waiting for the boat holding Zach and Grey to dock. He promised Claire he would pick them up to try and take a little bit of stress off her shoulders. The truth was though he wasn't really that good with children. He didn't hate them. He just never had to take care of them but this was for Claire and he would do anything to try and help her and make her life easier. Owen saw the boat dock and held up a sign that said Zach and Gray's name on it. He had never met them before. Actually he had never met anyone from Claire's family before and he figured this would be a good chance to start to meet her family. Two kids approached him. "Where's aunt Claire" the younger one Owen knew was Gray asked.

"Your aunt had to work today" Owen said.

"So you must be the boyfriend" Zach said.

Owen smiled at him and held out his hand. "Yea that's me. Owen Grady" Owen said waiting for Zach to shake his hand. Zach looked Owen up and down.

"Obviously Aunt Claire's type is big and stupid" Zach said.

The smile left Owen's face. Owen wanted to say something to him but he was Claire's nephew so he just bit his tongue. "I'll take you guys to mine and your Aunt Claire's house" Owen said.

"Whatever" Zach said as he walked past Owen bumping him hard with his shoulder as he passed. Owen rolled his eyes. Only 4 more days and then him and Claire would be in Paris away from everything. When they got to the house Owen showed them to the room they would be staying in.

"So this will be your room while you're here with me and your Aunt" Owen said opening the door to the guest bedroom. Owen and Claire had set it up really fast for Zach and Gray before they left.

Zach looked around. "Doesn't Aunt Claire run a theme park" Zach asked.

"Yea" Owen said.

"Well this is the best she can do" Zach said shaking his head.

"I'll make us something to eat" Owen said closing the door. He took a deep breath. It was going to be a long 4 days until Paris.
