After the singing and dancing, the lovebirds sat on a branch and watched the sunset together.

"Blu, the sunset is so beautiful." Jewel said to him.

"Yeah, I can only think of one thing much more beautiful." Blu said.

"Oh really?" Jewel said.

"Yeah. That one thing is you, Jewel." Blu said to her.

"Aww, thanks." Jewel said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Blu blushed slightly. Jewel yawned. "Blu it's time we found ourselves a place to call home."

"I agree." Blu said to her. So the couple then flew around tree to tree, searching for a nice home. Eventually they found the perfect one. It was big, had a lot of space, and was nearby a mango tree.

"It's perfect, but it's missing a nest." Jewel said.

"I'll go find some leaves and sticks." Blu said.

"Good idea." Jewel told him. Blu then flew off.

A few minutes later Blu returned with plenty of leaves and sticks. They then began making their nest. When they finished they both cuddled with each other.

"Goodnight Blu." Jewel said.

"Goodnight Jewel." Blu said. Then they fell asleep.

Jewel looked outside her hollow. Sunset, a very romantic setting for her plans. Jewel awaited her hero to return from his flight. Jewel smiled. This night was going to be magical.

Jewel was smiling uncontrollingly. She was blushing a bit too. She had imagined the whole setting—How she would ask him, how he would respond, and how they would do it. Jewel was happy.

At last, she heard distant flapping of wings. Jewel did her best to hide her blush. It was hard, but she did it. One Blu touched down he smiled at Jewel. Jewel felt like she was going to faint.

She never realized how handsome Blu looked. His dark blue feathers, his chocolate brown eyes, and his nerdy personality.

"Um Blu, I need to tell you something very important." Jewel said, breaking the silence.

"Hm?" Blu said, looking at her. Jewel blushed slightly, she felt like she was going to fall to pieces.

"You see. I was thinking, well, maybe we could, um, I mean..." Jewel stuttered, blushing a bit more. It's usually Blu who's like this, why am I the nervous one? Jewel thought to herself.

"I was thinking that since we've been living with each other for a while, and we both love each other very much.." Jewel began

"You wish we could mate with each other." Blu finished her sentence.

"No! I mean yes! I mean maybe, I mean...how did you know?" Jewel asked.

Blu shrugged. "I didn't." Jewel smiled, blushing madly. "To be honest I was thinking about asking you."

"You were?" Jewel asked.

"Yeah." Blu said, staring into Jewel's eyes. Jewel stared back. They stared at each other for a while until Jewel calmly began kissing Blu. Blu kissed back, and the two began to make out.

After a couple weeks Jewel complained about her belly hurting. Blu took her to see Tulio. After all, he is an expert.

Tulio ran multiple tests on Jewel. While they were waiting for him to tell them the results, Jewel began to talk.

"Blu, what should we name them?" Jewel asked.

"Name what?" Blu asked.

"Our baby chicks, if we have them." Jewel told him.

"I don't know." Blu said. "We just have to wait and see how many chicks we have." Blu said.

"I hope we have three." Jewel said.

"Hm I was thinking of four." Blu said. Jewel laughed.

"Blu look at my belly. Do you think 4 eggs could fit in it?" Jewel asked.

"I wouldn't know, I've never been pregnant." Blu said.

"And I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to be." Jewel said. They saw Tulio return.

"Okay guys, I have some good news, and some better news. The good news is that Jewel is, in fact, pregnant with three little chicks." Jewel and Blu cheered.

"YES! I GOT WHAT I WANTED!" Jewel shrieked.

"The better news is that they're due to arrive a few days from now. Perhaps this week." Tulio said. This time Blu cheered.

"I'M FINALLY GOING TO BE A DADDY! The boys back home will never believe this." Blu said.

"Blu, I must ask you something." Tulio said. Blu looked up at him.

"Since your mate is so near at giving birth, would you like to stay here until they've hatched?" Tulio asked. Blu thought about it for a while. Then he turned to Jewel.

"Jewel? Would you like to stay here until the babies are born?"

Jewel thought about it for a while. Then she shook her head. "No thanks, Blu."

Blu wrote down on the notepad what she said. Tulio nodded. "Okay Blu. Feel free to stay as long as you need to though."

A few days later Blu and Jewel were talking.

"Jewel, don't worry they'll be just fine." Blu said.

"But but, what if one of them doesn't hatch? What if they break? Ohh I don't know. I'm so worried about my babies." Jewel said.

"Jewel, I assure you, they will be just fine. Tulio didn't find anything wrong with the eggs. The probability of the eggs being bad are astronomical." Blu said.

"I guess you're right, but I just can't help but worry. Something is going to happen. I just know it." Jewel said.

"Well, we'll never know until you give birth." Blu said. Jewel moaned and put her wing on her stomach.

"Jewel are you alright?" Blu asked.

"They're here, Blu!" Jewel shrieked. Blu gasped.

"Umm, Ungh, err, let's see, what did those textbooks say...umm." Blu said quickly, thinking very hard.

"I got it! Jewel lay down." Blu said. Jewel did that. "Now, breathe. Just keep breathing. When you feel like they're going to burst out of you, push. Remember: Keep breathing. You'll feel much better." Blu said.

"Bah how would you know? I'm the one who just so happens to be having large spheres come out of my cloaca!" Jewel yelled at him.

"Yeah, but I'm the only one here who just so happens to have the slightest idea on how to get you out of this alive." Blu argued.

"Psh, you may be nerdy, but you're no Einstein." Jewel said. "Alright, Tulio #2, tell me what to do."

"Alright, your highness, breathe." Blu said to him. Jewel breathed heavily.

"Good, keep doing that. Don't you feel better?" Blu asked.

"If having a huge pain down in my privates is better, then yes, Blu. I do feel better." Jewel said sarcastically.

"Okay, let's not argue. We can be nice." Blu said. Jewel grunted. "Jewel?" Blu asked.

"It's like they're trying to get out, but they seem stuck." Jewel said.

"Push!" Blu urged.

"I'm trying!" Jewel screamed.

"Jewel, you have to be calm." Blu told her.

"CALM?! I'M GIVING BIRTH YOU SADISTIC RETARD!" Jewel yelled at him. The she flinched from the pain. Blu breathed out.

If she keeps on being like this she won't survive the birth." Blu thought to himself. Blu didn't know what to do. "Jewel." Blu said. They met eye contact. Except Blu's chocolate brown eyes were nervous while Jewel's turquoise eyes were glaring at him.

"I love you Jewel." Blu said. Then he began to kiss her. Jewel was surprised, but then she fell for the kiss. She forgot about everything. Her birth, her anger, and her senses. When they broke apart they looked at each other.

"That was amazing Blu. I feel like the eggs are gone." Jewel said dreamily.

"Actually, the eggs are right here." Blu said, holding the three eggs. Jewel gasped.

"Blu. We did it." Jewel said. They hugged each other, with the eggs in the middle.

A few more weeks had passed since Jewel gave birth. She made Blu sit on the eggs often while she needed to walk around. Eventually one morning Jewel was sitting on the eggs. Then she felt shifting in the eggs. She quickly got off them and woke up Blu.

"BLU BLU! I THINK THEY'RE HATCHING!" Jewel shrieked excitedly. Blu bolted awake.

"What? Really?!" Blu also shrieked. They both looked at the eggs. One cracked slightly. The crack extended and got bigger. Eventually the egg shattered. They then saw one baby chick. It's feathers were light blue, like it's mother. However the eyes were like it's father's.

"It's a girl." Jewel said quietly. The lovebirds looked at each other.

"IT'S A GIRL!" They screamed excitedly. The next egg began to crack. When it burst open, a sleeping chick was in there. His feathers were dark blue.

"A BOY!" Shrieked the chick's parents. It didn't wake up, instead it turned.

"He's going to be trouble." Blu said quietly. Blu and Jewel smiled at each other. The last egg didn't crack.

"Give it some time, Jewel. It'll hatch. I promise." Blu said. Jewel nodded. After a few minutes the egg finally cracked. When it broke a tiny little chick with a mix of his mother's feathers and his father's feathers appeared. He yawned and looked up at his parents.

"He's precious." Jewel said. She then hugged them all together. "We're finally parents Blu!" Jewel said to him. Blu could not stop smiling. He was finally a daddy.
