Dave's eyes widened, "J-john...he's awake...right now?" He swallowed hard, inhaling deeply. "I...I oh my good." He said "Well can I call him? Can we go back and see him?" He asked, impatiently.

Jake grinned, holding the boys shoulders. "I booked us a flight that leaves in an hour, you'll see John in time to sleep in the same bed with him tonight, if you hurry." He chuckles, trying to hide his envy and jealousy behind his happiness for the boy.

"So, um, you better get packing right?" He asked, letting go of Dave's shoulder. He flt as though he should mention the killing himself thing... Perhaps he wasnt doing a good job being a guardian.

Dave nodded and quickly pulled out a suitcase from under his bed. He tossed clothes messily inside and went into his bathroom to get his toothbrush and toothpaste. "This is great. They said he wouldn't ever wake up!" the boy grinned, shaking his head.

Jake packed all of his things up as before, figuring Dave would be staying with John from then on or something like that, since without Jake he could never afford Bro's apartment. He supposed Dave and John could live here, if they worked something out. It really wasnt any of his buisness, he supposed. After he brinngs Dave to John's house in a few hours the world will go back to never knowing Jake existed. It used to be that way, except for Dirk. That's all different now, though.

Jake looked around his Fiance's room one last time, taking it all in. There was so much about this room that he was going to miss, everything from those...those silly, adorable smuppets to simply how the room just smelled like Dirk. He didnt want to leave it behind...

He sat down on he bed for a moment, picking up one of Dirk's signature smuppets, a bright orange one he modeled after himself all the way down to the glasses, and cradeled it in his hands. "...Dirk always did tell me he would bring me this one, one day." He laughed sadly to himeslf, putting it into his bag along with one of Dirk's t-shirts. He knew Dave wouldnt mind, and Dirk certainly would have wanted him to have it.

Jake took and stood up, looking around a final time before walking over to close the door behind him and find Dave. "C'mon Dave hurry, we'll miss it if we dont leave now!"

"I'm coming!" He said, grinning lightly at his suitcase. Was this a dream? He hoped not. His eyes shot up towards the voice of the English boy. "Coming!" He called back, picking up his suitcase and hurrying out to the car.

He beamed, "This is so exciting." He said, tossing his suitcase into the backseat and claiming the passenger's seat for himself. He put his seat-belt on and looked at Jake. "Lets go come on." He said.

Jake smiled sadly, chuckling at the boy's enthusiasm. "Gosh, what a mood-swing." He smirked faintly, tossing his suitcases into the back with Dave's before scooting into the driver's seat. "Not that I'm complaining." He added as the ignition turned on.

Dave frowned a little and looked out the window. "I...I'm sorry to scare you like that Jake...I just...I felt so alone again. Just like before." He whispered, laying his head against the window. "But...I-I'm okay now." He nodded.

"I suppose that was partly my doing." He admitted, running a hand through his hair. "I worked so much...and I have to admit also that I was...rather awkward around you without meaning." He sighed, pulling out of the driveway and onto the road to begin their drive. "I apologize for acting like a child... I should have known better, truly."

"No Jake...It was my fault...that night in the hotel..." His eyes widened suddenly. "Y-you're not going to tell John about that are you? I...I didn't mean it dude it was a mistake I know that now..."

Jake's stomach hurt, but he couldnt exactly pin a reason for the ache. "No! Gosh no I was never going to speak a word of it again... I didnt even expect it to, um, be brought up between us..." He blinked, getting onto the highway. "It wasnt your fault, Dave, you were emotional and alone... I am the adult involved I...I just..." He shook his head, remaining calm. "I just, I suppose I was desperate." He murmured.

"We both were." He whispered, looking at Jake. "I.." Jake really did get the short end of the already short stick here. Dave sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I wish I could bring him back for you..." He said

Jake smiled, not even noticing when he let a single tear drip down his cheek. "Oh Dave you cant... Dont think like that." He laughed quietly, clenching the wheel a bit. "I'll be fine, it's a miracle that John is still here for you. You should be happy for that, not sad for me."

Dave's shoulders slouched a little more than usual as he looked back out the window. He wanted to tell Jake that he'd feared that he'd be alone just like him. That he wouldn't be able to say goodbye properly to John...That he'd be completely alone with no one left...just like Jake, but he opted against it.

When they reached the airport Dave grabbed his bag and followed Jake inside. "It does mean a lot that you were here..." He said.

Jake left his bags in his car, knowing he wouldnt be needing them. He didnt tell Dave, but there was only one ticket leaving for Washington, not two. Jake's was headed back home... "I could have been there more, truely." He smiled anyway, patting Dave on the back before walking to the boarding station. "Ah brilliant, just in time!" He smiled, turning to Dave. "...say hello to the lad for me, wont you?" He asked with a quirky smile. "It was nice spending this time with you."

Dave blinked, confused by his words. "But...you're going too, right? Why can't you tell him yourself." He frowned. "Jake...what about you?" He asked, rubbing his arm. "Um..." Dave sighed, "Right i'm sure...you're busy with your own things to do. "He nodded and looked towards the boarding station.

"I'm afraid I can't, Dave." Jake smiled sadly. "I have to go home, as much as I dont want to." He sighed before looking up at the boarding time. "You only have 6 minutes, Strider. Better hurry." He chuckled, patting Dave on the back before taking a step back. "I sure will miss you, chap."

"Right...we'll keep in touch right? If you ever need anything..." He said, squeezing the handle on his suitcase. "Don't be afraid to call, okay? You helped me and i'm here to help you too." He assured.

"Of course." He smiled, looking Dave in the eyes before leaning in and kissing his cheek softly. "Dont forget about me, okay?" He whispered, taking a step away from Dave before turning on heel, walking out of the airport and off to his car.

'Back to a world of isolation...' He thought as he made it out to his car gathering his bags and checking to make sure his ticket was out and ready. 'At least I'll have memories.'

"12-D Plane leaving for Washington in 1 minute!" A lady's voice shouted.

Dave hesitated for a moment and smiled lightly, "I won't" He whispered back though there was no way Jake heard him at this point. He turned and quickly boarded the plane to Washington. He would finally be able to see his lover once again. Everything was resetting itself and he couldn't be happier.
